Well this is a community fixture and performing Hub. Named after the late great Langston Hughes, this former synagogue has wonderful performance spaces. The photo montage was taken inside the main stage area under the rotunda dome. This offers good acoustics but is enhanced with microphones and speakers. I have been to many events here, mostly celebrating people of color and people from the community. Wonderful memories here. This was a performance of the play and musical ♡Dark Divas♡ directed by the famous KIBIBI MONET....Always a joy to see Dark DIVAs 2019!

Nice do-it-all center. Lots of space for meetings and performances, convenient location not far from downtown Seattle yet still easily accessible from I-90 and I-5. The inside is a bit dated, though. Not horrible, but you can tell that it could use some sprucing up. So be prepared to decorate.

I was mesmerized @ Earshot’s local musician & historian saxophonist Gary Hammon musical journey. It was my 1st time hearing this gifted Jazz performer although I’ve known him since I was 6 yrs old our families go way back.

Beautiful venue where each seat is a winner..... No Air inside.... Hot as Blazes with not one Fan or AC. Poor musicians were dripping wet. They still played so well!! It was wonderful but I wouldnt go back there in the summer! Sorry

First time here. Watched a phenomenal movie called Bound. Very full audience. Theater is big, all their rooms are big, they invite and embrace community.. lots going on there, lots of flyers to do venture out! Such a happy place!

The hvac system was dumping so much cold air you couldnt pay attention to the lousy performance of actors who havent been trained in performance speech and fiction, clarity of expression to name a few. I have attended children summer camp performances that were far superior than this.

Amazing. The children were so talented as they began acting or continued their acting/ actress lives. I wish I would have video taped thus event. It was phenomenal & it was free to the public. No more than 6 weeks of practicing & such great work. Simply amazing!!!!!!

This former Synagogue transformed to African American inspired performance theater is a beautiful space. I have for 7 years held an event at this venue. The staff is excellent, helpful. The tech person knowledgeable. Its historic presence tells the story of transitions. It is majestic among new architecture lacking creativity.

I love this place. They host such a great selection of local artists, authors, and film. Every thing Ive attended here has been top notch and highlighted the #blackexcellence that Seattle is so quick to dismiss and pave over. Do better Seattle! And follow the lead of Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute!

As a former Jewish Temple, this community space offers facilities for many purposes. The theatre is adequate for smallish productions. The meeting rooms are adequate for groups of up to 50 people. Parking is adequate at all times of the day but is in a transitioning neighborhood so dont keep enticing things visible in your car.
