I started by taking a one night class and had a great time. Learning to throw pottery is easy, but making something you expect Id very challenging and takes quite a bit of focus/experience. I loved my time so much I decided to enroll in a beginner class. The class tuition feels expensive at the time, but I find that it is competitive pricing for a private studio in Seattle and is also totally worth it (to me). The staff is warm and approachable. Everyone is a great source of knowledge and is patient and helpful with their suggestions. They give the student the space to learn and struggle, but also give timely and impactful guidance. I love how accepting and authentic this studio community is! Lots of experienced regulars who are friendly and welcoming to newbies like me :) I highly recommend the classes, the one night, or even just a visit to say hi and check out their gallery.
Lovely assortment of unique ceramics.
I havent purchased anything from saltstone but when visiting the studio I was incredibly impressed with the work. I cant wait to bring something home.
