This is a really fun bar if you want to have a fun night on the town and go dancing! Its like a mini club, very cool atmosphere!

Amazing decor and great vibe. I love coming here for brunch. I came here with my family for Easter brunch and had the best chicken sandwich ever! Crispy chicken sandwich I added avocado and pepper jack cheese. I recommend smoking for a side of honey mustard to dip your fries and drippings in.

This place is one of the best places for dancing because they have a dance floor that doesnt get so packed you cant move.

Took us about 20 minutes to get seated, although the restaurant was pretty dead on a Sunday morning. We got drinks and they were okay. Nothing special. I got the Bellini/mimosa flight, everything just took too long so we went to eat somewhere else.

I have to give this place a totally average rating. The food was ok, not 3 times better than the prices would suggest. The mixed drinks (speciality drinks) are also ok and $15 a pop. The beer selection is limited and below average at best. The redeeming quality is that the server was very nice. The bathrooms are pretty cool too!

It was fun, and they created a fun and lively atmosphere with how they set it all up. Here in LA everything is real far from everything, so it was nice to have this sense little area of fun and nightlife that is easy to get from place to place. Plus they are hyper racist in Cali, and wont let Males in any popular venue here, so it was refreshing just being able to let loose and dance and feel welcome. Gr8 drinks too, Id for sure go back.

I traveled all over Europe and USA, I was never charged $16.50 for 5oz of Tito’s vodka and one sugar free redbull by a rude woman with her glute muscles fully exposed, and cheap tennis shoes. I wish them luck, and many squats in the future, but I will never give them another chance to charge my card again. Ohhh and I almost forgot, they don’t take AMEX, they feel that their processing fees are high.... LOL!!!

Wasted Management weekend. Bouncer at the entrance with neck tattoo was hustling people for 20$ a pop. Straight scheming. About dress code, like types of shoes guys were wearing. Issues with out state IDs. And allowing fake IDs.. and thats on top of the 20$ cover already. Other than that crowd was hype and proper.■ Not really enforcement if you look the other way, for an exchange of currency.

If you love places with promo managers that put their personal lives before their clients then Dakota Bar Az is for you. Kameron disrespects women all around and the things I have overheard him say are completely despicable. It is nonsense that you guys charge a minimum of $600 a table and we cannot even get service because the guy in charge is too worried about which “wh**e” will be at his table next. Get a more professional staff then maybe your club will be reputable.

Moved to Arizona recently haven’t been out to Scottsdale at all until Saint Patrick’s Day, I was only out for an hour and half because of how I was looked at and talked to by an employee of the Dakota bar.It was my mistake to enter through the back entrance I happened to be walking in the ally and seen people ahead of me entering that way, heard good music and seemed like a great place to start our night.My drivers license is still issued from Minnesota and expires this September on my 30th birthday.Now walking up to the gated entrance I know from experience of bars you stand outside the gate first to get ID checked so my sister who is 21 and I waited as the employee had a conversation with a lady. ( mind you we were extremely patient and ready to have a good time) he was done and walked over to us and rudely said that this wasn’t the entrance and we needed to walk around I said oh okay we will I just seen people walk this way so I assumed it was okay.He said it’s fine where is your id’s I handed him mine, I do have extension braids in my hair now, and I’ve lost some weight. He was extremely hurtful by saying I was way bigger here in the ID and saying now I have fake braids in my hair and chuckled and said I’m not legging you in.I was shocked and embarrassed that he would look at me with discuss and talk that way especially to a possible customer or overall person.If he thought the Id wasn’t mine or a fake I know he wouldn’t of gave it back to me but he gave it back without a problem.He didn’t explain on why he wasn’t letting us in my I got a vibe of because we are biracial.-Aften

This place deserves a five-star everything about it was fun especially the bartenders. I had a great time with all my friends although in the surrounding area there police everywhere itsits hard to have a good time when youre getting a DUI. I want to go back but not with as many police that try and meet their DUI quota.

Best place in Oldtown. Security at the front door are awesome and the bartenders are awesome. Overall the establish looks great with great music from the DJ. I go there every weekend and sometimes on Wednesdays instead of Casa Amigos. Keep it up!

Bar Manager Dakota Dez has no Respect for paying customers. We were asked to step away from the bar area to appease other customers as we were ordering drinks on an open tab at the bar. When I questioned her motive, she summoned 3 bouncers to remove us. Upon explanation Security then apologized outside, however I will not be visiting Dakota Again. Great Security Team, Terrible Bar Manager. My advice; take your business to an establishment that appreciates their clients.

Partied here for new years eve. It was cool but jam packed. Lines were crazy. I guess that what you would expect. Overall I had a great time and I felt like the staff was doing their best. I cant give 5 stars because I felt like things were not as organized as they could have been and prices were a good $2-3 more than they should be in old town.

Enjoyed this place last year so we revisited it again last night. Place wasnt that busy but good music. We ordered drinks and got the bill for 2 single drinks $24, $12/drink?? We thought maybe pricing had increased from last year but went to another bar right after (hi-fi) and the same 2 drinks were $16, ($8/each). We realised after they most likely poured us top shelf vodka at Dakota or there prices are too high... Very disappointed in ripping off loyal customers.... Probly wont go back.

Were in the area visiting and went for dinner only; due to my wife buying a Groupon. I have to say it was a great dinner and I dont know why more dont eat there. Sure I get it, most are looking for the music/DJ clubbing scene, but give the dinner a try. Fish & chips were nothing special but the fries were good. The steak & fries are well worth the money. The steak was excellently done.Wait staff was pleasant though I could tell she was more looking forward to the restaurant closing and the bar starting up full force. Could be that it was a Tuesday but show a little more interest in those going for just dinner. If we come back to the area it would be on the list for dinner...clubbing? Probably not, were a little older than that crowd.

Went into Dakota for one of my girlfriends birthdays. There were so many people with good energy and the DJ was awesome!. We couldnt have asked for a better place to celebrate- our new go-to spot for the weekends and any occasion!

I came home from work to find my fiance crying on our couch. Dakota promised us that they would accommodate our wedding after party, and quoted us a price that we set aside some money for. The General Manager then emails my fiance that the bill is increasing by $1,000. Of course after paying for a wedding, and buying our first home, there is no way we can swing an additional $1000 in 11 days! This was just poor service provided by management.

I would NOT recommend this place, especially those looking to buy a table for a large group or party. The management staff is completely unresponsive. We had a bachelorette party there on September 28th, our group was overcharged. I immediately reached out to the VIP hostess, Jessica Laubach, and she was willing to work to get my issue resolved, and the refund for our group. Unfortunately, the refund was never processed. I asked for a receipt multiple times, and was unable to get that or any additional details. She stopped responding to me all together. I had someone else in my group reach out to her, and she gave us the contact info for the GM Luke. I have since left a voicemail and a text message with ZERO response. The fact that we have been trying to get this refund resolved for almost a MONTH is completely unacceptable. Save your money for an establishment that appreciates their customers.Update: I was contacted by the GM, and he was very helpful and attentive getting my refund issue resolved. It was unfortunate that it took me so long to be connected with the appropriate person, but once I was, my issue was resolved very quickly.

I asked for medium rear steak it advertised for $19. It was dry and tough, the original Chicken wings where very small (not much meat) and on the dry side. My margarita was weak, even after I complained (I bought and drank 2 total, still wasn’t satisfied ) waitress, workers, manager were very nice.I bought coupon off of living social, AZ..The location and layout of of this establishment is a benefit, but they got to work on cutting corners. They make profit and could do better, until then I’ll pass.

Most unique bar in Old Town Scottsdale. Great patio for drinks and a wonderful menu full of healthy alternatives from the usual bar food found in this area. Overall, best atmosphere during both day and night scene.

Old town does it once again. Apparantly the dress code is now no ripped jeans (at least if youre black). Yet, a female with rips all over her jeans, two males leaving with ripped jeans and shorts are all ok... well, guess what, the person that couldnt get in with his designer jeans was black. All of those folks were white. I used to love coming to Dakota. Never again. VERY disappointed.

This restaurant/bar gave my husband and I terrible customer service. We went to Scottsdale to celebrate Cinco de Mayo (which was a Saturday) and arrived at the Dakota for dinner and drinks before going to another club to dance. We arrived around 8pm and were told that we would not be allowed in after 9pm because of the “dress code”. It was a hot evening and I had on a nice tank top, white non denim shorts, and strapy sandals and my husband had on a Cotton tank, non denim shorts, and vans. We were bummed but were not used to Scottsdale night life so we let it slide and decided we would get dinner and drinks and leave by 9. We get in and are told to sit wherever we like. We find a table outside that was a mess, waited 10 minutes and got no service so we bussed our own table in hopes they would realize we hadn’t been served yet, waited another 10 minutes still no service. My husband went to the bar which was packed with one bartender and waited 10 minutes without being served, he then hunted down a waitress and asked if she could visit our table. We wait another 15 minutes and still no service. Mind you, another couple in dress code arrived after us and got service. I feel we were extremely patient with it being a busy night waiting roughly 40 minutes just to get service and had enough so we left. We tell the bouncer about our experience and his excuse is that they only have one bartender and two servers and reminds us that we only have 20 minutes until we will need to leave because of the dress code. First of all, terrible management to only have three employees on a Holiday weekend night and to be ignored and treated what felt like “less than” because we were not in dress code was ridiculous!! We will NEVER come back here.

Horrible place. Below avg bar food. Slow service. They charge u $2 if u DONT want bacon on your sandwich! They also calculate the tip with tax included. Thats very shady.

Wow the theme in here is great! Almost a hamptons industrial feel going on! Sets itself apart from any other place in Scottsdale for having amazing fusion cuisine, hand made cocktails, great wine selection! The vibe is a little classier and you will see celebrities in there about every weekend!

This place is really nice. Dim lighting, indoor area as well as a patio with uber soft couches. I really like this place. The DJ is always playing the best jams. One thing however that I do not like about this club is that it has a SUPER STRICT DRESS CODE! If youre wearing a jacket thats not a blazer, sneakers, hats or basically non business attire, you can not come in. Theyll deny you everytime.

The bouncers and staff are extremely rude I was assaulted by one of the staff members name Chandler dont remember the other guys name.. I was simply just wearing a hat and he decided to rip it off my head and I asked him why he disrespected me and he told me I need to start respecting him. I replied what are you the police. and he immediately started to grabbing and pulling on me to the ground to drag me out. he ever ask me to leave. I never laid one hand on him and the police came and charge me with disorderly conduct and trespassing. cant stand the way they treat their customers.

I politly said excuse me sir i have a question OMG the bouncer at the door (short guy with hair in a manbun) turned around and yeild at me shouting (WHAT, IM BUSY, then tured back around and completly ignored me. He then kindly smiled at two WHITE men and had them walk right in with no issues, I looked at my friend and just smiled because I really wanted to leave, but i didnt want to mess up the night for my her.these bouncers need more training

Out of all the clubs, this one has the classiest vibe and is quite intimate. Located on the corner so it doesnt compete with the commotion of the passersby.

Stood at the bar for 15 minutes, no drinks. Our foursome was moved twice from our seats after 10 mins. The security was more intent on drinking energy drinks than doing their job.

4 stars. The food was good. Watiers also good. 4 stars not 5, because the wi-fi disconnected and would not re-connect. Also, no parking, even for handicap, also, the owner parked right outside in the no parking zone. That should be left and marked for handicap or special needs.
