Loved it! The history of Scottsdale was amazing! I especially loved the little classroom and the old kitchen. The staff was super courteous and helpful! It is free but make sure to leave a donation!
An excellent little museum. Theres a lot of history there about the little red schoolhouse that began in Scottsdale so many many years ago. The people who volunteer there were knowledgeable and helpful. It was very interesting to see how far Scottsdale has come from when it first began. A great way to spend an hour or so
This museum was a nice surprise and tons of interesting facts about the history of the city. Really striking that they were on DC current till 1952. The staff was very helpful and gave us lots of tips on what to do in the area. Admission is also free.
I visited this place in the last week of May, and the Museum was closed - I am not sure if they close it every summer, or if they are undergoing some maintenance activities and so they have closed the Museum. Nothing was clearly mentioned over there. But, I really liked the surroundings g area of Old Town Scottsdale and was grateful for making a decision to visit the place.
Cute, quick museum on the history of Scottsdale. Probably spent around 30 min in here.
The two men who were working at the museum were very helpful and provided lots of additional information about the history of Scottsdale.
Great for the hole family interesting info about old Scottsdale from 1904.
Went on a segway tour and learned about all this city has to offer. We really enjoyed our time in Scottsdale.
Always a fun place to visit when in old town
I believe The Scottsdale historical museum is a must see while visiting old town Scottsdale.Admission is free, although they take a donation. There is a documentary of the Roosevelt dam, and lots of pictures with explanations of the evolution of the building from school to city building to a museum preserved by the historical society.
A lot of information nice stop
Its just part of beautiful Scottsdale the horses are just breathtaking.
Really cool place. The history of the Hoover damn video, originally named Roosevelt Damn was very informative.
Small, free and nice... Donations accepted
This little museum takes just a few minutes to walk through but it is time well spent. The friendly volunteers who work inside are more than willing to explain the exhibit and photos. The museum talks about how it all began in Scottsdale and the staff are more than ready to suggest other places to visit.
The Scottsdale Historical Museum is actually a schoolhouse from the area when it was first settled. They have lots of photographs and small displays which are all really neat. Its a very small Museum but its free and its definitely worth taking a stroll around inside for a half an hour. The man who was working at the front door, his grandparent actually attended that school which was really neat so he had a lot of historical information to share. Its an easy location between Old Town Scottsdale and the famous Robert Indiana LOVE sculpture.
Nice folks even let me ring the old school bell :)
One of the guys working there told us the story about the Scottsdale High school closing in 1983, a lot of history in such a small building.
Friendly stsff and well marked stations; easy to read.
I have been twice! Very well done. Great movie show and 2 story museum. The gift shop is excellent, too! Dont miss this gem!
Very friendly volunteers that were available to answer questions.

Great exhibits and very knowledgeable volunteer staff. A must see.
It was interesting and the host was very helpful.
Cute. Small. Spend less than an hour there. FREE
Interesting facts to learn, there was a gentleman and a lady that were knowledgeable and explaining some fun facts on Scottsdale. Nice for some quick historical facts...it doesnt take long at all. Specially for kids that get bored or have a short attention span.
Very informative and fascinating. Enjoyed it.
Very friendly employees and interesting, especially about the rules for teachers back in the day. Would recommend if in the area
I was excited to check this place out. I checked the website and reviews that said it was open but when I got there a sign in the window said it was closed till September. Very disappointed!
Cool lil place check it out
Very informative on how Scottsdale became a thriving city.
The former Little Red Schoolhouse has a patchwork past thats a fascinating story in itself. It started as a school in 1896 and over the years was used as a church, Town Hall and the County Court Office, city library, and was almost torn down in 1968.The museum has permanent exhibits telling the early history of Scottsdale.
Scottsdale Historical Museum was interesting. Alice was very informative. After the tour we walked around for some shopping and lunch. We came back to the car to find a parking ticket. Great!!! Scottsdale knows how to treat a visitor. $40.45 Thanks Scottsdale I wont be back anytime soon.BrentBoise, ID
