Played golf on the lake course. Great lake views and fairly challenging course layout. Course is full distance, with plenty of water and sand. There are several dog legs and elevation without direct view to the green. It rained over the weekend, so the traps were damp and compacted. The greens are dormant, but in pretty good condition. Great place for some travel golf.

Great golf course many doglegs but open fairways. Very scenic with the river and Mountain backdrop.

Rough, that words sums it up. Greens were rough, fairways were rough, cart paths, food, parking lot, everything within sight round a bouts. The magestic RV park as the backdrop for some of the holes was a pleasure as were its occupants. If your considering golfing here, take the advice and make the extra drive elsewhere.

We celebrated our anniversary there, our waitress was so nice, the food was amazing. All in all great atmosphere had a wonderful time.

Nice trail by the water and through the woods. We walked it in the rain, so couldnt see much. Will definitely go back it were looking for a short walk/hike.

Overall its pretty good. Plays to a fade. Im not a fan of Bermuda greens, you putt one and its straight and another on the same track and speed and it breaks.

I really like the course and holes 3 - 7 have great views of the Tennessee River along with several holes on the back nine. The par-5 holes, at a little over 500 yards (blue tees), can be reached into two, but the par-3 holes have been challenging to me. The only slight negative is the greens are average or slightly better but they plan to redo them next year to match the great greens at their other course.

I was on a Tennessee River trip. Stopped in twice to fuel up. The attendants were friendly and respectful. They pumped my gas for me.

We ha e been here for weeks at the campground, love it! Evevryone is friendly, courteous, and helpful! This is a beautiful place and we love it here!

Great food, drinks and service make the restaurant at Goose Pond Colony worth a stop. Add to it the view from the deck during dinner and you have a winning combination.

This is a great place to walk for exercise or to walk your dog. Its peaceful and beautiful. The cabins are big and would be a great place for a vacation. There isnt much of a playground but there are swings and a slide. It has a good course and of course a boat dock. I had a great time today with my dog. Felt very safe

We just drove through Goose Pond Colony to check it out. It looked like a great place to camp, golf and go boating.

My 1st time visiting this area. Spent the morning out walking the trails taken pictures. The walking trails are very nice going through the woods seeing the scenic look over the lake. Plenty of flowers and Wildlife to look at. Stop off at the little bait and tackle shop had a breakfast sandwich this morning. The people were very polite very helpful. The breakfast Was fantastic this morning.

Sanded greens. Played there 2 times in last 6 weeks. You have to wipe your putter off after every putt. Will not return.

My first trip here with friends and I love it. Close to the water great price and fishing was excellent.

Very disappointed in the management of the campground. On May 20, 2020, my husband arrived at the campground at Goosepond Colony—one we frequented last summer and enjoyed immensely with our four young children. After some back and forth debate with another patron, the manager on duty admitted she moved the reservation notification from the site she agreed upon and assigned another patron to that camp site instead. She then asked my husband to disconnect our camper and move to a different site.This act is completely unethical and very unsound business practice. Not only are our children devastated that they are now unable to enjoy a fun camping trip with family and friends, but we are exceptionally frustrated at the amount of time, effort, energy, and resources we have now wasted in preparing for this trip only to turn around and come home.Unfortunately, this employee has not performed at a level of acceptable professional decorum and should not be allowed to hold a position dealing with the public. I am unclear why the manager decided it wouldn’t be necessary to address this issue in a morally and ethically upstanding manner—by acknowledging her lapse in judgement and maintaining the agreement established prior in allowing my family the camp site agreed upon. While I understand the bottom line is making money, the example set before my four young children was clear in that there are people they will deal with that do not do the right thing.

Drove the boat to the dock for lunch. The three of us had the cheeseburger. They are huge. However, they were precooked do we very well done and dry. Overall, its a good place for a quick bite.

You can get boat gas here. Nice views. There is a pier. There was a fisherman tournament when we there. A weigh in I guess. The fish werent biting well before the cold front. The staff were friendly and helpful. Staff pumped the boat gas. Lots of beautiful boats at the marina. Go in slow and leave slow. No wake when coming in or leaving the gas pumps. Found this place on Google maps when we needed boat gas while boating on the Guntersville Lake. Used our Google map to navigate in.

Beautiful and clean park, right on the river. But we stayed a week and the whole time there was no hand soap in the womens BATHROOM. Maintenance needs to step it up a bit.

This place is nice from the outside, but when you start actually trying to speak to the employees that work there, boy are you in for a treat. They are EXTREMELY rude. Would not recommend staying here! I also had a friend stay here and when they would not help her and she left a review, they had it removed! Classy

Felt comfortable enough to let my granddaughter and her 10 year old friend try out all the activities. At $20.00 per person they were able to enjoy the water slides, play putt putt and zipline. Nice family atmosphere and plenty of lifeguards!

We drive around and eat and watch for foxes and deer and groundhogs and raccoons always do this just before dark near the amphitheatre

Google took me right to this gorgeous hideaway. Plenty of parking and docking. Grounds well maintained and clean. Cabins located on property for wknd getaway. Will revisit!!

Best public resort in North Alabama, with a beautiful golf course, marina, lodging and camping, and the best restaurant in the region, The Docks, with the best sunsets around!!!

I love this area, it is staffed by a great bunch of folks who really care about the experience and go to great lengths to take care of the properties and golf course. Everyone is friendly and there are some lovely walking trails to enjoy that bring you right next to the water. Highly recommended!

Stayed at the Tiny Cabin,, very clean and cozy! Enjoyed my stay during the NBAD tournament. Wished the refrigerator was a full size.

Goose colony itself is a great place and ran well. Being a active tournament fisherman and visiting 15+ plus times a year I am at a loss as to why the changes at the store have been made??? There is very limited tackle and now they have filled store with tables. This lake is a destination for Anglers world wide and has a huge economic impact on Scottsboro area. Why would anyone throw such a jewel of locations to the wayside?? Would not recommend counting on this place for any angling needs as far as supplies. Great facility,great ramp and improvements underway now. But store sucks compared to days long gone bye.

Doesnt seem like its changed in the 20 years that Ive been coming here off & on. Nice golf course. The cabins seem decent. They have plenty of boat slips and launches. The service store has some stuff. We usually hit their pool though. Good size. Has a low diving board. Cheap to get in to the pool.

Nice campground, over 100 sites all with FH plus cable. Some on or near water. Rates in 30s depending on water or not, but all in $30s. Good fishing, restaurant, golf course all close by within half a mile.

Great course, friendly staff. Great snack bar. The course is in great shape. It is challenging for all skill levels. It is very playable and fun. The only negative is there are no water coolers out on the back nine. It was in the 90s, high humidity and HOT. Plenty of coolers on the front nine though. Other than that, a great course and we will definitely be back.

Have stayed in the cabins every year for 11 years. Dont think I ever will again. Maintenance is seriously lacking and personnel are not concerned and act like you are causing them issues when you need help. Will not give them anymore of my money.

We stayed in the cabins across the street from the golf course. They are clean and provide the basics. Each cabin has two bedrooms with two double beds. There is a full bath in each bedroom. There is a kitchen and dining room with basic necessities provided. The living room has comfortable furniture and a television. There is a screened in deck. The outdoor area has a grill and dock with access to the best Bass fishing in the world.

It is a quiet, scenic area. Great place to walk the trails, rent a cabin, go bass fishing, kayaking, inner tubing, or just relax. There is a nice civic center, a beautiful golf course, plus a delicious restaurant: The Docks. Youll also find a public pool, small playground, and one of the best marine service shops around: Angler Marine. Dont forget to stop by the Bait, Tackle, and Grille for all your fishing and snack needs!

This is the place to go! Golfing, swimming, walking trails, camp sites, cabins...did I mention fishing. Great place to fish. 10 stars!
