Wonderful center. I take the water exercise classes and love the security, attention to safety, and instructors. It is wonderful to have a facility like this close to home.

Upon entry I was treated disrespectfully over not having a mask. I have no problem wearing one but simply forgot. A younger girl at the front desk was extremely extremely rude and condescending when speaking to me. Then when I tried to address it she could not receive any feed back whats so ever. She has a nasty attitude. I have been a member for over 15 years at the ymca and have never been talked down to like that.Everyone else has been friendly but this location needs serious attitude adjustment. This is why I try to avoid this location but there are only so many YMCAs to go to.

A great Y. Recommended for anyone looking for a perfect gym/Y. They also facilitate family events and activities.

Ive really enjoyed the spin classes taught by Liberty at the Y. They are challenging, fun, and has a good community of regulars every week.

The instructor was very supportive and encouraging. She listened to my concerns and provided guidance. I am definitely interested in taking private lessons which I am hoping I can learn more. I would recommend Bonnie (instructor) and the Y. Overall, great experience!!!

Very friendly staff who helped me with my out-of-town town status. Exceptionally clean facility with plenty of equipment available even while enforcing COVID-19 preventative measures. Definitely worth the short trip I took to fit in a workout on a Saturday.

The Schertz Family YMCA is amazing. Quite possibly the best experience ever. They serve up monster gainz and as an added bonus, I get my temperature checked daily. Just yesterday a super helpful lady associate helped me out from under a massive bench press I went to failure on. Make sure you lock the door when you go in the family restroom. Dont want any surprises. :)And...the splash pad is open via appointments! Woot

Wonderful facilities! Our son is taking swim lessons at the Aquatic Center and they are amazing! His swim instructor is so patient and encouraging with him. Everyone we have come into contact with is very polite and helpful.

A great program - and a great chance for the kids to get to spend some time outside and playing after a long day of school. Kids NEED playtime, and YMCA give my daughter that chance. She loves going to YMCA after school care!

The staff is extremely helpful, and very motivating to me in moving towards better health and fitness. The equipment is state of the art, and everything is immaculately clean. The other Y members are friendly and welcoming to the various classes and activities. Also, the childcare is excellent!

Great place for families with them watching your little ones for up to 2 hours while you workout. They dont get the 5 stars because of 2 main reasons. First they dont have enough machines so when its busy you find yourself waiting since they just have one of the resistance training machines. Secondly they have weird weekend hours.

The kids are always engaged in an activity, and have plenty of outdoor activities. The staff is always professional and kind. The staff is always smiling and I’ve never seen them yelling at the kids. They will always let you know about upcoming activities, and willing to communicate with the parents. The hours of drop off and pick up are excellent. Overall I do recommend them. The only down fall they don’t supply lunch, but their are plenty of snacks!

I worked with both Jodi and Carl during enrollment. They are both awesome. The facility is really nice. It would be nice to be able to go to the pool from the main building without having to go outside. If thats the worse thing that I can find with the facility then it will be a great place to work out.

The classes, equipment, pool, and staff are great. It is very clean and spacious. This is by far one of the best YMCA or gym that I have used. I am DoD and this YMCA is far better than most of ours and we have some really state of the art gyms. The attention to details is really noticeable; great job and keep up the quality!!

There are so many activities, programs and classes to choose from, there really is something for everyone. Every instructor and staff member has been wonderful, I highly recommend the Schertz Y!

I get that a lot of businesses are in a tight spot due to CoViD, but when I request a cancellation of membership I expect for my cancellation to go through. I gave you last month due to the message regarding a month processing time, but getting charged today as well was the last bit. I had to do a stop payment with the bank just to make sure nothing comes out anymore. This is just poor performance and something I would expect from commercial gyms and not the Y.

Ive worked out in all sorts of aerobics classes and Step is one of my favorites. Danas Wednesday evening class is great! I always leave feeling like I got a good workout.

Our family loves simming any time of the year. The exercise equipment is great for keeping us fit.

Karen is an amazing teacher! I left the class having learned to do SEVEN strokes. And, now I can tread water too. Taking this class was one of the best decisions I ever made. Now I know how to swim!

The three times I have been there since I became a member have been very impressive and enjoyable for me. The staff is always very gracious and welcoming and are so helpful in answering all your questions and made an appointment for a tour and information that will help me get the best results for my situation. I feel very comfortable coming here and look forward to reach my goals and make many nice friends.

Willow was a phenomenal teacher to my son. Patient, encouraging - and she also knew when to give a slight push.He was very responsive to her teaching (swim lessons). We would have loved to have taken her next class but our schedule did not line up.

Everything has been amazing. Im so thankful for the childwatch program - they love on my kids while I get a workout in and a little quiet time. Its priceless.

Nicest YMCA Ive been to. Clean, big with plenty of workout options. Staff was actually friendly and helpful. Child watch was organized and teachers were nice and ready to be with children. I thoroughly enjoyed the aqua zumba class I attended. The instructor was new, competent and fun loving. Music was great.

The group fitness classes are great! I have loved TRX HIIT with motivating and fun instructors Iris and Lindsey, and Body Pump is excellent, too. The Kidswatch program is very welcoming - my kids always have fun with the wide array of activities, and I feel confident that my children are in good hands. The Christian focus is encouraging and uplifting. Thank you for making me and my family stronger and healthier!

Schertz YMCA is an amazing resource in our community. My son has the greatest swim instructors and the events they organize (Swim and S’mores) are super fun!

It’s been 4 years that my child has been in their after school program and it’s been a really good program overall. The counselors are helpful and responsive, variety of activities is great and of course the snacks are a highlight, for my child at least. Thanks for all you do!

The program was good and my son learned a lot. I just wish they had better communication. There was lots of things left out or not mentioned to us. Also the coach did not know or attempt to learn the kids names, granted they are only 2/3 a name to face recognition would have been nice.

Just the right amount of fun, learning, and competition. I also love the pledge both child and parents say before each game. Child first, sport second.

I love the childcare here. The staff is great and my kids have a great time while we work out. Only thing that ever annoys me is sometimes there are way too many people and literally every treadmill is taken.

First time here, but staff was EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS and went out of their way to help with even my smallest requests. Lauren was the est of them all. Give her a raise and a promotion. Look forward to visiting your establishment again soon and also hope that Lauren is there to help, if not and the rest of your staff has been trained as Lauren has then Ill no doubt has a very pleasant and satisfying experience.

I like the small class size for swimming. The instructors are patient and calm when teaching my children to swim.

It all depends on your interests, whether the YMCA at Schertz is good or not. I have a lot of exercise equipment at home, so I joined just to play pickleball. Pickleball seems to be their first choice to cancel to have kids programs everytime kids are out for a school break. I realize that kids programs are important, but I think they could use some other areas sometimes for them for even 1/2 of the gym.To me, its a way for the Y to get more money. They get my monthly dues, but cancel the program that I go for and then charge parents to bring their kids there.... getting more money.I thought this might be different, once the Cibolo Y opened up because they probably wouldnt have kids programs at both, but.... Thanksgiving break is here and pickleball is most likely canceled till the Friday after Thanksgiving. The same thing will happen for Christmas, I can bet on it. Then summer will roll around and pickleball will be at the bottom of the list again.... more cancellations.

This place is absolutely great! That staff is very welcoming and everyone’s that is need for a healthy lifestyle is there. The indoor pool, splash pad, child day care, and multiple free classes have our family excited to go here!

I’ve been a Y member in Abilene Texas and recently moved to Schertz. Unable to transfer my Y membership due to my family still living back in Abilene the Schertz Y staff worked with me to find a solution that would work for me and my family back home. The staff always makes an effort to welcome me with a smile and by name from time to time. Great to feel welcomed especially when you don’t know anyone in a new town. Thank you for making me feel a part of your family.

Schertz YMCA is excellent for senior citizens they offering silver sneaker program an array of other activities like Zumba water Zumba chair yogaeven if youre not a senior citizen this is the place you want to go nice clean friendly environment

I like being able to go on my own schedule, stay as long as I want to and need to. I like being able to shower right there. I like using the swimsuit spin cycle. I like the place is clean happy and welcoming.

Its too far away. They did not make it convenient. YMCA centers vary on quality based on nearby residents. The one up north is way more upgraded, modern and fancy compared to Schertz, and Schertz is way better compared to Walzem. Its difficult not to call out discrimination based on income since such a thing does not exist. I strongly recommend people to not invest their money into it unless they live close to the facility and it offers classes with quality instructors that are worth it.

I had my 4 and 6 yr old Grandsons in swimming lessons and ninja camp. They both learned a lot at swimming lessons and enjoyed ninja camp.

Pretty quiet on Saturday mornings! Really enjoy the classes during the week! Play areas for kids supervised! The Y offers so much.

Although the actual instructor didnt run the class until class 3, I love how he interacts with the kids and provides feedback on how I can help my children with swimming. They are loving it and I would recommd their swim classes. My children are 5 and 6 and are much more confident in their skills.

That there is such a huge variety of choices; and what I REALLY love the most is that APP! That has been the sole reason that my wife and I have been able to be consistent with our workouts and that we have been seeing great results from them.

Gets pretty crowded at peak times but has something for the entire family. I enjoy going with my fiancé. The place is usually pretty clean. There is some construction going on in the bathrooms except I don’t know exactly when it’s happening; I never hear or see evidence of work going on. Value is pretty great compared to gym memberships in other places.

Clean facility, easy check in, friendly staff and participants, and the Silver Sneakers class is fun and offered early in the day which I prefer.

Honest review.... First cost, 90 a month for my girl, son and myself. Its not bad at all with free childcare. Ive been a member for 1 week and love it so far. The hours are great from Mon-Fri as I workout in the morning. Sat open at 7 is terrible as I have to be at work at 945. Sunday I used to love working out but they dont open till 1. This gym has Olympic benches, squat racks, Olympic bars for curling and enough to grow and get big. So the review further below for not enough weights is bs. Indoor hearted pool, free classes, movie bike room, spin class and splash pad for kids. This gym is awesome and I highly recommend. I do not talk to the staff yet so well see.

I love the variety of classes offered. And the instructors are amazing at what they do. Very knowledgeable and they know how to help you get the most of your workout. If group exercise is not your thing, then the floor has ample equipment for you to use and get in a great workout.

Been a member for 3 years now and have never had any problems. The staff is ok but I don’t go to the gym to converse with them, but if I do have any questions, I’m always greeted with a smile and a prompt answer. I’d choose this gym over any of the local gyms in the area. My only knock on the gym is random people talking to me during my workout but that issue could happen in any gym.

Kimberly, Kali, wonderful staff and personal trainers are amazing. We have been coming here for about 3 years and absolutely love the everyone here. This is truly a real Christian community and we are very blessed to be a part of the YMCA family.

The pool was clean. The life guards attentive to their jobs. (Ive seen some that are so busy flirting to do their job, not here!!!)The water was very nice, not to hot, not to cold, just right. Ha!!

On the smaller side but its great to have one in our community. Swimming is available, the classes are great, and the employees have always been helpful and courteous.

Clean, friendly and organized are my first impressions. Mostly what makes my experience renewable is that my kids love coming to the YMCA and it has become a positive experience being able to bring them and have a little worry free time for myself.
