Went to an Album release lunch. I think because of the event the kitchen was behind on orders. Wasnt crazy about the lemon pepper wings but the collards were delicious. The ambiance is cool and mellow and the music was amazing. I would definitely revisit on a regular day. Jazz and Food, you cant go wrong.
We were in town visiting from Charleston, and I’m so glad we chose Good Times. The food was absolutely the best I’ve had in quite some time. Kudos to the Chef. The staff is wonderful, but we fell in love with Ms. Donna! She’s attentive, personable and so friendly. She’s an asset to the establishment. We have nothing at all bad to say about this place. The owner should be proud. We’ll definitely return soon.
Phenomenal! One of the best nights out a person can experience. The drinks were fantastic, ambiance was rich, music was incredible, and the whole experience was too great to describe. Do not miss out on this wonderful place. Good times is excellent and cannot be matched. Make this a night to remember and enjoy some first rate music and service. You will not want to miss the Good Times experience.
Enjoyed ourselves great music and appetizers. Cozy little nest egg.
This was my first visit after hearing many great things. I went for the Mothers Day Brunch/Dinner. They offered a Prix Fixe Menu of five courses for $49.95 per person plus 7% sales tax and 20% gratuity. Upon arriving at this restaurant, my party and I were greeted immediately with smiles. I felt really welcomed. We were seated quickly upstairs our servers immediately greeted us and got us seated. Soon after I learned that they did not really have a kids menu. Either they kids could eat all courses from the menu for the standard price or get an entree for $21.95 (I believe). My issue wasnt the price at all. It was moreso the menu. I wished they would have at least had some fried chicken with Mac and cheese for those kids who are picky eaters. Normally, when I go to dinners I dont bring the kids bc theyre picky eaters, but it was Mothers Day... . My nephew opted out of eating bc there was nothing on the menu that he liked. The food was delicious and so were the mimosas. The reason I didnt give this restaurant five stars is because the service was EXTREMELY slow. Our reservation was at 2:00 and at 4:30 I had to request that our ticket be brought out with the dessert. By this time, I thought my poor nephew was going to pass out from hunger. He was a trooper, though. Since, they were serving from a fixed menu, I didnt think the wait time would be so long. In any case, Id definitely like to try some other items off of the regular menu, but not if Im going to be there for nearly 3 hours.
Theres a reason why Good Times Jazz Bar & Restaurant comes to mind when anyone starts thinking about needing the ultimate night out. The joy of having great cocktails, dinner and the opportunity to listen to fantastic music is always a winner. I look for to returning and enjoying Savannah at its best.
I found this place by accident while here in business and it was exactly what I needed. Good food plus wonderful music and staff. I especially appreciated the hostess asking me to remove my cap as I was seated...not formal, but manners still rule here. Ask for Miss Theysia the server...or Sweet T as her friends call her. She made me feel like family. I look forward to my next trip to Savannah so I can return.
My honey and I came to visit from Charlotte and we found this restaurant. It is was very nice! The service, the jazzy atmosphere, and the food! Best shrimp and grits ever! Although we came during a time when there was no entertainment, we look forward on returning and listen to some live music.
Wait staff is lacking in attention, the food is good yet pricey. $9 for a salad is a bit much. The seafood is good, I recommend the crab anything. They make it very tastefully from the cakes to the bisque. Ill be back to sample more, even the gray music. Fully enjoyed Ricardo Ochoa and the Latin Jazz Revolution. Great music here.
The best place in Savannah hands down! Excellent customer service. It’s actually the best customer service I ever received my entire life! They have great food as well! I highly recommend this place to anyone!
This place is absolutely amazing and the food is delicious! The owner and his entire staff are friendly and make you feel at home. Top notch live jazz music while you dine. The ambiance is right. RSVP highly encouraged.
This place is amazing good food and the performers are amazingly talented. You want to hear some professional Jazz singers and Band this is the place !!!! Im originally from California and I feel like Im in Hollywood watching a live performance.
We stumbled on this gem. Fantastic! The wait staff was so warm and knowledgeable about beverages and food. I had the ribeye. It was cooked perfectly with a bit of a sweet rub on the outside. It had a little pat of butter melting on the top when it was served. The whole experience was glorious!
Jazz is not my favorite music, thats okay come here for the food, so worth it. Best meal I had in Savannah. Great service. You need to try this.
I chose this place for my birthday dinner. I was unaware that they had a dress code. I was wearing a blue blazer, white low cut tank top and shorts with heels. I was almost turned away. The manager had to come and review my outfit and she was reluctant to let me in. I politely told them that I can go somewhere else. Nevertheless, I was approved to eat there. I had the shrimp and grits and my boyfriend had the catfish with red rice and cabbage as his sides. Both were delicious. Before the band played for the night... there was a host that was nice enough to announce to the restaurant that it was my birthday. Eating dinner upstairs was a treat and we could watch the band from a big screen TV. The waitress was very nice and attentive and I even got a free slice of pound cake. I definitely would recommend this place. Just remember to call for a reservation and ask about the dress code.
Must see the Jazz star Earl Williams. He is so funny when he plays, that when he takes a break you will want to start throwing stuff on stage to get him back on. You will miss him. Originally when I got to the place I thought the food would be okay because I thought the focus was on the jazz, but I was wrong. Food was out of this world. Best steak in Savannah. Six Stars from Me.
My wife and I spent Valentines weekend in Savannah. I heard so much about this establishment, so we decided to go. We had a real Good Time, The Entertainment was absolutely what I expected. Marvelous, the Food, Man the Food, I have to tip my hat to the Chef. The food was oh my god Delicious Delicious Delicious. We will be back
I cannot suggest this enough. This was my favorite part of visiting Savannah. Theres a $5 cover charge and either a 2 drink minimum or you have to buy food. No problem for me either way! I got 2 old fashions and they were delicious (and STRONG! Definitely get the alcohol you pay for). Theres a dress code so its a very classy place. Small and cozy, you may sit very close to other people. But the music was just extraordinary. We had such a blast and would definitely go back!!
This place is the best place to be in Savannah. Good food, good drinks, awesome atmosphere. Period. Chef Randy, over ya sir.
The vibe and food was amazing! Its definitely a great place to go on a date or just with your friends. The place has so much history, plus beautiful art!
Here is my only gripe (thus far) about the place.By them adding your admission to the tab.. even though it is not taxed they conveniently want you to pay a tip on admission AND your appetizers AND drinks. My bill came up to $74 including $30 cover for my friends and I. We had drinks and appetizers that totalled $44....the tip table on the receipt POLITELY read...15% tip = $11.10...20% tip = $14.80...etc. Tip table included admission. Only reason I did not bring this up with management was because my friend frequents the joint. I left a tip based on the service of $44. ...$8.80.
Nice music and bar. Sit down dining experience was not good. Food was not good. Waitress was courteous and professional. My first time there. Dont think I will ever go again. Wont even recommend it. Not worth the money
This is our second time there food and music phenomenal. Strongly recommend it. Earl and the band terrific sound and entertainment. Steaks great.
Great experience. Wonderful environment. Donna the Host was wonderful. Met the chef. Food was outstanding. Enjoyed the music.
I drove from Aiken South Carolina to enjoy my Aunt’s birthday but this place was horrible. The bar and music was actually good but when it came to the food...not so good. I ordered the catfish which looked good but when I took a bite...I wanted to get up and run! This place is over price and the chef needs to learn how to use seasoning especially on SEAFOOD! I will never go back or recommend this establishment..
Donna and her staff are absolutely fantastic! The food is famous too - the chef is one of the best New Orleans style chef so you are getting authentic New Orleans flavored dishes. The service is second fk none, I highly recommend this place
I am giving a five star for the outstanding music and performances that I had the opportunity to watch the night we went. Now the downside, their serving staff needs training. The young lady that was our server showed up to our table to hey our drink order, we also wished to put in appetizers, at the same time. Unfortunately, our server walked off while we telling her what we wanted. I called after her to no avail. She walked off. So, she needs to be more noticing of her guests needs. When we did order the appetizer, we informed her that we will later be ordering our main entree. She literally exclaimed that most people either order appetizers or entrees not both. lol. I found thus amusing. The one downside to this establishment is they lack a corking fee. To those that do not know, a corking fee is what a restaurant charges when someone brings in their own bottle of wine. Ruth Chris, Corleones, Chart House, Bedfords, the Grey, Pink House, and Alligator Soul are just a few restaurants that have a corking fee. Usually the corking fee is $10. Now the wine I brought was a favorite of my girlfriend, and it was not on their wine list. This was the reason I brought the bottle of wine in the first place, I had checked their wine list and had seen they did not carry the wine she liked. So, I brought a bottle. When I came in I handed the bottle to the hostess and informed them to please give the bottle to my server. I even said, I know you probably have a corking fee and I agree to pay it. Well, a few minute later as I was walking to my table, I was informed they did not have a corking fee and they would not allow my bottle of wine. Serious guys. you really need to work out the corking fee issue. After paying $5 admission and agreeing to pay a fee, you say no?
This was my our 1st time at Good Times Bar and Restaurant and I must say, we were and still are very impressed. Very friendly, extremely professional and timely. Weve been saying that we wanted to go to a good Jazz venue and we found it in Good Times Bar and Restaurant. The food was simply amazing and just the right amount of portions. What a great date night with my hubby. We live in Atlanta and took some time to celebrate us in Savannah. We will most definitely be back again.
My girlfriend and I had an amazing time here! She had the shrimp and grits. I had the catfish. Both were DIVINE (but the shrimp and grits took first place). You must have the crab and corn chowder...best I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for both a musical AND dining experience, come here ($5 cover). Our waiter Giovanni was attentive and well-informed. You should definitely come here!
My wife did her research and found this place. We were visiting Savannah for the first time. No disappointment here! The jazz trio was simply amazing! The food was fantastic.
Incredible experience from beginning to end. Food was insane and the music was amazing. Would go back again and again.
My first time posting about where I eat. This place is awesome for great food, music, hospitality and grown folks who enjoy one another. Cant wait to revisit. Donna and hosts were fantastic and Jazz band a blast. Saturday night was great!!!
Had a great time at Good Times. We were on vacation and looking for quality southern and live music. Its all here. Great jazz combo and local and regional jazz artists. Wonderful evening. Great fried chicken! Good service, fun and friendly atmosphere. A bar and seating area. Will definitely be back if we are in Savannah again.
The customer service at this establishment was degrading to my party. Even with our reservation, we were told that we had to wait for a period of time after our time allotted. Once seated upstairs, there was a friend that walked up to speak to us at our table. This friend was met at the elevator with a snide remark from the hostess. She asked, “What are you doing here?” in such a rude and condescending way. We tried to get a word in, but she went on to say, “This is a fine dining establishment” implying that we were not worthy enough of being there. The attitude that we were met with from the very first moment we walked in the door was enough and we decided not to continue on with our reservation.
The we food was delicious and seasoned well. Great service from Theylesia and Jessica!! Definitely going back!
My family and I went to this restaurant for dinner. We had a party of 11. They sat the first four and told the others they couldn’t seat us together because we didn’t have a reservation. This is after we were told they would sit them at separate tables around us. We were told if we wanted to sit together we should have called ahead and pay $10 per person to reserve the table. The others in our party sat for another twenty minutes before they brought four of them to the second table for four. The other three sat down stairs waiting. We were so disappointed we walked out of the restaurant. We have visited upscale restaurants all around the county and we never been to a restaurant with so many restrictions.
This place is Absolutely Amazing. Delicious food and a wonderful Atmosphere. The live jazz band was Amazing. My partner and I celebrated out 5th year Anniversary here on 8/16/19 The food was DELICIOUS! She had shrimp and grits and I ordered cabbage, collards and candied yams...for dessert we had the pound cake...Everything Melts in your mouth..the Manager is such a sweetheart and checked on our table to ensure everything was great...our waitresses I think her name was L was Amazing...I highly recommend this place an we will definitely visit again in the near future
If I could, Id give this place ten stars! Good times was the highlight of our time in Savannah!! Well worth every penny and every minute spent here! Do you want history and a genuine love for the city? Come to Good times. It felt like I was surrounded by family-especially once the night started going and the regulars started coming in. From the sweet hostess, to the servers, to Harley the manager, to Mr Ted up on stage- it was impressive and simply delightful!!The food was divine. The shrimp and grits were delicious and had a little spicy kick! Our party also ordered the Gumbo, fried chicken (yard bird) and the Chilean sea bass. Every dish was very well assembled and lovely. Our evening was made perfect by coming to Good Times!!
We very much enjoyed this place, the music was awesome and also the people that work there. The food was very good.
We just came for the music and cocktails. It was awesome! Everything including the staff were fantastic. We would definitely come here again when were back in town.
Best Jazz musicians that Ive heard in a long time! Staff greet you with smiles, polite, articulate, well groomed. That includes the bartender as well. We will be going there again when we return to Savannah!
Great atmosphere wonderful singer cant wait to come back to Savannah. The chicken sandwich was to die for
Loved the atmosphere and the casual feeling of the club. The jazz topped off the evening after a COMPLETELY satisfying dinner. Cant wait to visit the Sunday brunch with gospel music.
My first time @ Good Times was incredible, the customer service, atmosphere was everything. *Great datenite spot*
A little pricey but the music, food and service was great.
Im local and have walked past this place an embarrassing number of times but finally stopped in on a Friday night just as the live jazz was getting started. We opted to stay downstairs to see the musicians but the description of the food available upstairs in the restaurant will bring us back. The bar food was fantastic and the drinks were delicious. The music - out of this world! Such a treasure!
Live music is good. Food is ok. Drink menu needs to be updated for accuracy. Ambiance is great though. First floor for live music feel and second floor for conversation and auxiliary live music experience!
For a couple of first timers and out of townersOut celebrating my fiancé B-day.My Fiancé and I had an awesome and fabulous experience at Good Times jazz bar and loungeThe food was hot, fresh and delicious the drinks were on point as wellThe building was clean, decorated with a sophisticated style With welcoming staffthe atmosphere was lively & positive with good vibes and not to mention the amazing musical talents.Good service and they even worked with me on securing my reservation. However My Fiancé requestedrequested to use his military discount and he only received 10% off of one iteminstead of 10% off the final ticket priceHowever we would like to see that change for the military discount.overall we both had a blast ️
The music was wonderful. Service was very slow due to the unexpected turnout of almost triple what they were actually expecting. False advertisement. It took about 5 hours to receive a full course meal. Most options we wanted for food were unavailable. Substitutions were not honored. Accommodation was not what I expected neither. I would recommend a visit here for drinks, live/jazz music lovers, and small bites only. I wouldnt go here if you were pressed for time.
Our waitress was brilliant! She customized our visit and I am hard to please. Her happy energy was contagious. The food was tasty - I got wings. Environment is deep and rich color with a musical theme. Live music on select evenings and I only heard great compliments on the music. I will be back tonight to hang out!!!
I had an 8:00pm reservation and still had to wait over 30 min for a table. The food was not seasoned well. The drinks were good and the atsmophere was great but I really dont think I will be returning. The deposit is ridiculous too. Usually you get it back, but they give you a gift card for their restaraunt. But its cool, I just wont go back.
I had a reservation for Saturday night and I get there and the place is closed!!!
Great home cooked food. Staff were super friendly and the jazz was nice. Would recommend for an authentic southern experience.
Good Times jazz bar is the ultimate regularly available Gathering Place to hear outstanding jazz music of various genres! The setting is cozy and the ambiance is soothing and relaxing. It makes for a fantastic date night or just a time to gather with friends and socialize while listening to these wonderful artist! Often, you even meet new people who are truly friendly and will appreciate you just because of the wonderful shared experience you have with them of appreciating jazz music! If you havent been it is a must attend venue in this area and region that delivers a great experience! :-)
Great live jazz music and delicious food my husband and I had a terrific time
Great Sunday brunch. Music was wonderful, food was delicious. Staff was friendly very professional. Bringing my girlfriend for dinner. Recommend it.
First time visit to Savannah and discovered Good Times Jazz Bar on a daytime walk down Broughton. Returned for a Friday night spouse date with another couple and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Music was awesome.....the Milkshake Quintet.....staff was very friendly...and the drinks were stout.Outstanding peach cobbler was a nice finish to a wonderful evening.Cant go wrong with Good Times Jazz Bar.
The food here is amazing and delicious. The crab and corn chowder is one of the best soups Ive had in my life. The fried chicken is moist, tender and well seasoned, the mac n cheese was good and the red rice had a lot of flavor. Definitely this place will be a mandatory stop on our future visits to Savannah.
The food was excellent and the service was great keep up the good work. Thank you Donna for taking care of our group from Miami all 43 of us. I know it was a task.
The best Restaurant in town ! We didnt have reservations but they accommodated the 9 of us anyway. The hostess treated us like family. I felt so welcomed. The food was absolutely delicious 100%! I cant wait to go back.
This was my second time at Good times. I was impressed on my first visit but I was not impressed on my second visit. My Martini was only half filled, my buddys beer glass was half empty/full. You dont put a 12oz beer in a 20oz glass. It makes it look bad. The hostess needs to be more attentive to make sure customers are satisfied. When I suggested that they place a screen so that the customers that are seated in the far rear can see the stage act, I was told Oh hell never place a screen there cause his pics are there.. She wasnt even open to the suggestion.
Food is SUPERLICIOUS, A must to try. This place is now on my must visit again and again places. Live performances while enjoying the best food.
Today was my knight and shining armour my kings birthday and this place a long with the great service from the time we walked in the door until we left the premises. The food also was awesome capping off my husbands special day one to remember. Thanks for making his day special.
A Great place, beautiful music and the food was amazing. Ive eaten at many restaurants all over the world and this goes in top ten! Just wish staff was more organized. Way to much confusion at the door. Waitress NEVER checked on us but automatically made 100.00 from our party but NEVER performed ANY customer service. Very disappointed. Train staff to smile and be more organized and professional and your place could truly be a 5 star!
We visited Sunday 2/17/19 this restaurant again after our first stumbling upon this restaurant a few months back. This time we brought two more couples with us for a late Valentines weekend outing. We all left feeling more than satisfied. The food is fresh and good portion sizes. The hostess, waitress and manager are welcoming and the service is top notch. I love the cozy atmosphere along with great Jazz music & gospel! We plan to revisit!
The food was amazing. The ambiance is great as well. They have live music downstairs if you just want to drink and enjoy some jazz. Upstairs is where youre seated for dinner. They provide speakers and a monitor so that you can see whats going on downstairs. Highly recommended.
My husband and I love the ambience, service, food, and music. We went on a Tuesday to celebrate our anniversary. We would definitely go again!
Customer service needs to be worked on. There is a lot of room for improvement if they want too to continue to attract business. Lack of management responsibilities to the customers.
What a great place to see live jazz. The band was excellent . A great jazzy atmosphere. The staff was great. Out waiter Cedric was amazing and very attentive . I will definitely be back.
The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, the food and music by the Stan Wilkerson Quartet was great!!
Great food. I went at lunch time and ordered the lemon pepper wings with ranch dressing....... Delicious . Two other co-workers had their Shrimp and Grits, she said it was very good with a little kick and my second co-worker had their chicken salad sandwich with potatoe salad, that was delicious. Everything was good, service was good and Donna was fabulous. Ill be back, Ill be back.
The music is awesome. The food is good. The wait staff is also very good. Great relaxing evening
Love it. On point. Must definitely will be keep coming
Great jazz!!! Great environment!!! We will definitely be back when we again visit Savannah.
What a cool experience. Earl and the band were amazing and fun. There was a lady celebrating her 85th birthday, it was really cool to see how the band (mainly earl) made it such a special event. The service was good and my wings were better than expected. Probably will go back tonight! Highly recommend.
Lord have mercy!!! This place is a 6 stars Restaurant. I am at a loss of words. The food is outstanding. I recommend the Oyster Rockafella. I ordered the Bread Pudding, when it came out I dug right in. I was have way though it when my wife said, where is the praline sauce. That is when I realized I was eating the pound cake. It was amazing. If you have not been, you must visit this place, I highly recommend it!!!
Great place for a cocktail and a show! Very talented artists and a really cool vibe, listening room style. There was a $10 cover on Saturday night
Best jazz in Savannah! Maybe the best jazz on the southern coast. Thoroughly enjoyable. If you were up north, you would be paying $75.00 to get in. Please go and support this place. Food was good, music was awesome!!
Terrible. I went on my lunch and it took foreverrrrr to get a salad. Not to mention we ordered chicken and shrimp and it was only shrimp when the salad arrived. The portions are small. And for two people with a salad with only lettuce, 5 shrimp (that weren’t seasoned), and Parmesan cheese...it was 30 dollars. Smallest nastiest salad ever. Never again. I should’ve went to McDonald’s instead. We didn’t even finish the salads they were horrible.
Great music and good good. Friendly service
