The Saratoga Opera to Go performers came to the Dorothy Nolan Elementary School today. The students were very excited to see what opera was all about. Our kindergarten and first grade students were treated to a marvelous performance. It was well paced, and entertaining. It contained wonderful opera repertoire that had been carefully crafted to fit the story by adding new lyrics. The voices were well rehearsed and the costumes and scenery were simple and very effective to tell this story to children. It had a great message and the singers and accompanist could not have been kinder or more friendly to us all. As I went through my day, I had many fellow faculty members who were in attendance share their enthusiasm for what they had seen. We were given a wonderful gift of music this morning. Thank you, Thank you Thank you!!!!!! BRAVO
The Marriage of Figaro, in a word, FABULOUS! The singing, the acting, the music, the set, all served to create a wonderful afternoon of opera. The pre-performance talk by the orchestra conductor was informational and fun, making the opera even more accessible than it already is. The voices of the leads are simply terrific and their acting brings the inherent comic aspects to life.I have only superlatives as this opera, its director, orchestra director and talented singers and musicians reflect the high standards and creativity of Larry Edelson, the artistic and general manager of Opera Saratoga.
Beautiful place
