Went to the Hideaway restaurant that is open to the public. Absolutely definitely worth going to try even just once. They make all of their salad dressings! That tells you the detail they put into their food. I got the lobster ravioli. Superb. My husband chicken parm. Both homemade pasta! The sun setting also made the night even better. Not to mention the prices are extremely reasonable! Will definitely be going back. Plus if you loved the food......you can buy the kitchen staff a round of drinks for 6 bucks!!!!! Thats awesome.
Golf course was very competitive. People were polite and relaxing. If you want to play a round of golf thats challenging and exciting this is the place. Had a great time and will definitely go there again. The course is very well designed. The price is also very reasonable. Great job goes out to the grounds people and staff.
Worst golf course around. Gravel for greens and crabgrass for fairways. Sprinklers must not work because the crabgrass fairways are like concrete. You couldn’t pay me to go back. Has potential but whoever is running this place has no idea what they are doing. ******response to the owners response: go walk your golf course. Your response to my review clearly shows you have no idea of the condition of the course. It’s awful. Oh and when we were done with our unmonitored ridiculously slow round thanks to the group of five ahead of us, we couldn’t get a drink/food at the bar at 4pm on a Sunday before Labor Day because it was closed. I stand by my initial review of worst course around.
Ive been here several times before but only played the front 9. Today tried the back 9. If you want not only a golfing challenge but also a golf cart driving challenge check it out. Rolling hills and a few giant gaps connected by winding paths through the forest. Most holes are long but not crazy (300-400 yards). Challenging, but fair. And rewarding when you hit some good shots. Renovations are ongoing so it was strange to hit a few shots from loose dirt but surprisingly not difficult. Cant wait to see it when its done! The pricing is fair, 20 dollars with cart (maybe discounted because its later in the season... late September). Check in advance if theres an event going on, they seem to have a lot. Also they have a restaurant now which I did not try but I will. It was packed at 2pm (a good sign!).
This is an awesome course. The course challenges your every shot due to its unique layout. I have been playing here for over 3 years and I have to admit that the management team continues to better the course everyday. I have taken a few lessons from the golf pro CJ and my game has never been better. If you are looking to better your game visit CJ for some lessons.
This is a really nice family run course. The back nine is a real treat. The staff are great and down to Earth.
Ok so customer service is not their strong suit. A group of us purchased the group golfer deal for here $20 with cart great deal. Never got around to using due to covid and it expires July 1 my buddy called to see if they would honor it beyond the expiration and they guy was rude and yelled and hung up on him! He only called to ASK not demand they honor it. How do you hang up on a customer for asking a question like that? The GM was the same about it making a bad experience even worse! If you care about customer service do not play here.
Super nice course...working hard to repair and upgrade several areas that are still in the works. Otherwise would have been a 5/5. And it tore me up btw...
Great golf course. Plus a nice place for weddings and outings.Attenitive staffVery professional
Course is in better shape than the last time I was here two years ago.
This is an well design and interesting course with lots of elevation changes, dog legs, and undulating greens. Have to lay up in a few spots and makes you work your complete bag. A view of the lake and lots of woods. Lots of work being done on the course should see an even nicer place to play soon. GOOD VALUE.
Course was in bad shape, weeds in fairways and rough greens. Wouldnt play again...
No grass in the faiways..lots of hardpan in the rough
What a fun golf course, used pretty much every club in the bag. The staff and grounds crew were extremely friendly and courteous. They are working hard on the course to improve it and keep it good shape. First time I played it as I live a couple of hours away, the rates are very reasonable and I will definitely be back.
Challenging but fun
A true course carved out of the woods, bring all your sticks!
I played this course early on Friday June 22, 2018. I was very fortunate to golf with member Tim. His knowledge of where to hit the ball was very helpful in guiding me around a beautiful layout. The course was in very good shape. The greens rolls exceptionally well and the speed suited my stroke and game very well. I would definitely book a return visit when I get back to this area.
Interesting, short but challenging layout. Many holes require precision off the tee. Good variety of par 4s and 5s, but all the 3s are short. I used to like to play the course, but the condition of the greens at the end of July 2018 was terrible. I wont return until I hear that the greens have been restored.
An interesting layout- challenging for the intermediate to advanced player but forgiving enough for the beginner. the views are great and the attention to the course condition is noticed. all in all a very good value for money.
Course not in good shape... Great track but just not good upkeep of the grounds..
Been a while since I played here. BUT - Always found it in decent shape. One GLARING bad feature - CHANGE THE 1st HOLE - Its silly to have to tee off with a 6 iron on a par 4 to start a round. Fill in the trench where the water is and just have a nice par 4 to start. Other than that...not a bad course.
Great course, well maintained. Perfect course to play during track season. The staff is awesome and really looking forward to the new clubhouse!
I golfed there for the first time today. Im from out of town and happened to google and find this one. I had made a tee time at 9 am for one however changes in my schedule meant I needed to start earlier to finish. They let me on at 7:30 and the front nine was backed up so they asked me to start on the back and than do the front 9. They were very accommodating and kind. Reasonably priced as well. As a side note they got 2+ of rain last night and the course was still in great shape.
I like this course and wish I could play it more. Well maintained.Update 4 years later. I was disappointed at the conditions of the course. Greens were in terrible shape. Looks like they removed many of the trees souronding the course which changed the both the look and conditions of the course and not for the better. Lots of dry sandy areas where there should be grass. I wont be back this season or next until conditions hopefully improve.
Course layout provides a challenge on some holes;playswell from white tees; disappointed in condition of spiked/sanded/burned out greens.Needs water & removal of tall pines shadowing many of the greens.Take a lesson from Ballston Spa CC long term grooming of areas surrounding the greens.
It is a beautiful course and layout but difficult, especially since I dont hit a long ball. Hope they will consider adding forward tees to make it more fun for us casual female golfers.
Great golf course. Absolutely no facilities, except irons-only driving range. Porta potties, vendor chow, in season. Great golf course.
Brought my Father here to golf who was visiting from out of town. Cant beat the scenery and views of Saratoga Lake on hole 6. Challenging course due to trees. Looking forward to the completion of the club house for dinner/drinks.
Beautiful course that I have been playing for years. But after one interaction with the new owner, George, I will never play here again.
I love the course and play it several times a year. Its more of a links course with challenging finesse shots on some holes and big ball game on others. Great layout.Im not sure I get the pricing though. Last year, they raised prices... lets just say it was the course where I knew I could almost always walk on and play when I couldnt get on at Halfmoon, Spa, Eagle Crest, VP, Cap Hills, etc... This year, they raised the greens fee to $40 for 18 holes walking and it makes no sense, particularly since it lacks a clubhouse/bar, its off the beaten path, some of the greens are in bad shape, and its not walkable for most golfers. Get a bar and I might get an annual membership. And stop with the best ball challenges - 18 with a cart specials would work much better.
Great time, good pace, good course condition. Great way to get 9 in early.
Course is well kept and challenging. Staff is friendly and helpful.
My personal opinion is the pro shop should REQUIRE a cart for ALL golfers playing the back nine...The back nine, Is NOT walkable at all,.......But the front nine is walkable..
Best course in Saratoga NY. When other courses greens where in bad shape, this courses looked like Augusta. Good layout that will challenge all players.
Worst greens in upstate NY, like putting on dirt. For all the rain we have had in august this place is as dry as a bone. We will not be back. Rated 1 star because you cannot rate no stars.
Course is in good shape food was terrible. no club house .
Beautiful golf course
Challenging course but fair.
