Won’t allow anyone on property, what a waste. I was told that artist are housed here and it’s an invasion of their privacy. It would have been so lovely to get a few pictures on the front porch step area, does anyone have any suggestions?

I went for the ghost tour and it was amazing. So much history, a beautiful house and an even more stunning patch of land. I can’t wait to go back in the spring and see the flowers and full foliage. There’s an air of peace and it’s amazing

Yaddo is a relaxing place to walk around and enjoy the beautiful gardens during any of the seasons. It is quite, and sometimes you may even see wedding party taking pictures. We spent time practicing out photography and were able to not disturb anyone or vice versa.

The website for Yaddo gardens indicates it is open on their website! However I just took a very long ride there to experience the gardens and it is not open! The website should be updated so that others dont make the trip for nothing as I did!

*AS OF 10/6/2019 THE GOOGLE MAPS DIRECTIONS ARE INCORRECT* The GPS will direct you do turn back onto I-87 an announce that youve arrived at just about the end of the on ramp. To properly get here you should go just past the I-87 S on ramp (going into saratoga) and you will see an entrance and then another just a few hundred feet past that on the same side.Beautiful and serene. I love going to just admire it all. Lovely backstory, too.

Flowers arent ready yet and there is some construction going on so its not at its best, but it is still a nice place to go and see! Soon, things should be in full swing and they will have flowers, fish in the ponds, etc.

Beautiful place. The grounds were well kept and our ghost tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the location. The ghost tour wasnt the best, but it was worth the $10 for the tour and stories. I would love to visit during the summer when everything is in bloom, but it was still beautiful in October. Recommend giving it a try if only to meander around.

Optional visit when in the Saratoga Springs area as flowers are not in bloom most of the year. Gardens are possible but not comparable to any major citys Botonical Gardens. Come with limited expectations and you will be satisfied.

The Gardens at Yaddo were recommended to me by a wonderful Airbnb host. Just before the interstate is a non-descript driveway that brings you to the Gardens. While beautiful, they were not worth the time it took to explore them. Mostly private land, the public area was three areas. The whole garden took about 30 minutes to walk through, but I made it another hour to see the status and read the history. Im sure in the spring time the Gardens are more impressive.

DO NOT BOOK A WEDDING AT YADDO. If you have an upcoming wedding, even with a legally binding contract, you are not safe!!! They double booked my wedding with ANOTHER wedding for Saturday, and they took my spot that i reserved last year!! My entire family including us, my elderly grandparents and 7 week old son, family that traveled from England and Texas, got RAINED on, as the other wedding ALSO contracted for the same time was in MY spot. We had to hide in the woods and have our wedding in the rain while we watched the other wedding in OUR spot!!! I didnt get to walk down the aisle or listen to our song!! After the ceremonies as we were leaving, we got to walk by them all nice and dry taking wedding photos while we were soaked and there was no point in us taking pictures anymore, we all looked awful! The other groom was pissed for us as well, as his wedding was contracted 3-5, he was told we were 1-3, and i just called to speak to anne-marie pratt, who tells me he was booked 1-3. She is blaming the other bride and groom suggesting they lied to us and ruined our wedding. She accepts no responsibility and thinks apologies can fix the nearly $12,000 disaster she left us with by double booking. I finally had to call her while shaking and trying to stay calm as she never responded to my emails! She never even offered back the $250 I paid to reserve my spot. Im having my attorney help us sort this out. Apparently offering compensation after such a horrible mistake isnt something Yaddo believes in. Its a beautiful place for sure, which is why we chose it when we had so many other options. Thanks a lot Anne-Marie Pratt. Glad the other bride got to have the wedding of my dreams that I booked and paid for ages before her. Nice that she has offered no solution either.
