A very good place to work on your game. The fairways are pretty open and not too many hazards so you get an opportunity to play simpler shots. Still has its challenges but definitely somewhere you should be able to go and keep a lot of your golf balls
Great course. Great price. Good food.We played a quick round of 9 on a Friday afternoon. The course was busy so as a woman, I was hesitant to play and slow down the other players. The golf pro told me not to worry about that and have fun. I appreciated that so much! We had a great time. A few other reviews mention damaged greens. We played holes 1-9 and the greens were fine. Beautiful even. We will likely play again before we head home from vacation.Get an egg salad sandwich from the restaurant inside. It was delicious!
You get what you pay for. Course is fine for price. Fairways are a little rough as our the greens. Ladies serving lunch were very friendly. Marshall really is who ruins the course. Other than him, we had a good time. He seemed to interested in his buddies (group of 24) playing than anyone else. Got after at us for my 9 year hitting short when he was only hitting when I did so he wasn’t slowing play. He made us skip a whole only for us to get stuck behind slow players in front of us that were slowing us down on that whole in the first place. My son was so upset that he thought he was in trouble that he asked to leave. Very disappointing and really should find a new job if that’s how he plans on treating people...especially when trying to teach a kid to live the game.
The greens were dried up in places with sand on them and some were bumpy. Fairways pretty good. Practice putting and practice chipping greens closed. Sloppy Joe sandwich very good.
Love this course. The scenery is gorgeous and its pretty forgiving if youre like me and tend to lose tons of balls!
The greens are in rough shape. Fairways not to bad. No cart hirl during the week. Lunck and 1 beer encluded
Good course for practicing, but green is not green, more likely nice fairway
Green is a very comfortable course. Its very open and yet High just a little subtle differences that make it a little challenging. I played nine holes today and shot of 47. And lost a few balls in between. If you want place to go just to relax and play a little golf Rolling Green is great.
I guess you get what you pay for but the greens on this course are just utterly unacceptable. They have thick weeds growing everywhere, half of the greens are just turquoise mud (whatsup with that). Also no masks being worn in the clubhouse including by the woman making our post round meal.
Great course, friendly staff, great value!
A nice cheap place to golf. A staff member had treated me and some friends very rudely and the management was very willing to make it right. All in all a great place for a cheap round of golf.
This is absolutely one of my favorite places to golf! I enjoy the course, and with buffet meals and beverage included, it is a tremendous deal! But more than that, I love the down home friendliness of the staff, from the restaurant, to the guys in the pro shop and the outside staff as well. They make you feel so at home. Even the course maintenance guys are friendly and helpful. To be honest, for golfers reading this review, some of the greens have some rough spots as well as a couple of tee boxes. But it is obvious they are working hard to fix these issues. Even so it is a fun course and an incredible bargain also. We played here before and will definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff for a great outing yesterday!Janice and Chuck F.
The tee boxes weren’t in good shape. Very choppy and dry. The fairways—-they were terrible, dry, brown, hard, dead looking. The greens weren’t the best either. When I was in the pro shop I asked the person at the the counter how could you let this happen. His excuse was it hasn’t rained enough. Really apparently the golf pro or the course superintendent don’t know what sprinklers are. The scorecard shows nice fairways and greens. But that’s a facade, a fake, your wasting your money. I’d try looking for another municipal course that actually waters and is in good shape
Congratulations to everyone at Rolling Green Golf Club! Played three days ago and had a great time! Everyone is extremely friendly. Reading some of the previous reviews, I am amazed at expectations. I have a 13 handicap and have played many times throughout Florida but am based in Maine. I was thoroughly impressed with the conditions for the price. . . seriously $32.99 including cart AND lunch! The fairways maybe not be wide open, so hit them straight; and the greens are immaculate because they are not cut to a 11 on the stimpmeter, so putt with a firm stroke. And let me tell you about the lunch: make your own sandwich bar with pasta salad, chips and drink - chicken salad that is better than Fresh Markets!, tuna & egg salad, cold cuts, or a hot sandwich if you choose - amazing! Im playing there again tomorrow with two of my friends. Thankfully, there will be golf for at least two more years at Rolling Greens!
Golfed there last Sunday had a great time. excellent breakfast buffet included in the round of golf, and then a make your own sandwich buffet type lunch afterwards was great, made myself a wonderful club sandwich. The golf course greens where in pretty decent shape, I would be happy playing here several times a month. people are extremely friendly.
We just need rain and it would be much better
Great greens, good tee boxes, ok fairways. People are super nice and pace of play was great. Maybe it isnt a country club but we had a great day!
Great staff, fun course, great prices!
Friendly staff in pro shop and restaurant. High quality left-handed rental clubs. Had a great day!
Everyone was wonderful at the Golf course. We rented clubs they were acceptable; green fees included BF; Drinks & Lunch.Course itself was not so great they had a very dry year.
Nice staff. Not crowded. Unfortunately this was the worst quality course I’ve ever played. Greens were very very long. I’m lead to believe they are not cutting the grass with the proper equipment. Looks like it is being cut with a residential quality mower
Its rough. Nice staff and a fun golf course. Rumor has it the property will be condos. Still, the value is good.
Much to expensive for the conditions. Beware ladies/seniors, there is hardly any advantage using the forward tees in a mixed group, very frustrating. Staff not very friendly.
Overall, a fun course to play. I like the fact that the driving range is off grass instead of mats and they have a chipping/putting area. My main complaint is that the pro shop closes down too early. Especially in the summer hours, it would be nice for the pro shop and range to stay open later. If you work until 5, you cannot make it here to hit a bucket after work.
Breakfast, lunch and golf for a great price. You have to check this place out.
This is a very nice course to play. While there are a few strategically placed bunkers, which are difficult to miss, there are not many hazards to chip away at your golf ball stash. The restaurant is a little above average for golf courses, with a decent menu and service. I would play here again.
The course was fair the fairways were fine the rough was way too high some of the greens were ok but needed work the dinner was great Glad to see Barb back she was supper very clean.the sand boxes need a lot of work and also some tee boxes need work also ty for asking Steve Carper
Great course for the price, nice greens & T box. Fairways are dry but ok.
This place is great. They have a golf course, driving range, putting green, and confession building. For an incredibly low price, you can sign up for a package deal that allows you free access to the range after 6pm. The golf course isnt huge, but its great to play on if you just wanna play a quick round. Love the place, and the prices too!
Very friendly staff. ..
Greatly improved. A pleasure to play.
Highly recommended
Greens need a lot of work. Breakfast & lunch was great ..Wait staff excellent..
$20 bucks, you get what you pay for . In the top 5 of worse course I’ve played, practice course played with my beginner daughter so it was fine to learn on, layout was fine but the conditions were horrible
Nice golf course. Priced quite fair
Could be greener but everyone eas kind
Had an enjoyable experience with friends. Nice to see course making a comeback. Too bad it all has to end soon.
Course in good shape. Greens better than before. Good golfing experience.
It sucks when the restaurant does not open up in the morning to open up for breakfast. If the one who runs the restaurant stay that way there will be no business at all at the golf course cuz I will stop going there if I cant have breakfast. Had egg salad sandwich that sucks for lunch. Theres no way that that place wouldnt last without having food
Course is in mediocre condition. Not a bad bang for the buck. Play time is in the 4 to 4 1/2 hour range.
Rolling green is a classic The course is not easy but it is a lot of fun Restaurant is good breakfast lunch dinner Barb is the best waitress in town
Wide fairways. Well kept greens. Extremely professional staff. Pro shop employees, cart attendants, and ladies working in the restaurant are all friendly and courteous. The Practice and Play Club, which includes Rolling Green, Legacy, and Seranoa, is a cant beat proposition. $36.99 plus tax per month. Members get free range balls all day, every day, at all three courses and discounted rates as cheap as $9 between 12 noon and 4 pm for 18 holes of golf. And they throw in a free beverage (beer or soda). Lunch and breakfast specials are only five bucks, beverage included. And the food is excellent. I played 18 holes of golf, ate lunch, and had two beverages at Rolling Green for around $15. Thats a tremendous value in this day and age of overpriced sushi and five-dollar cups of Starbucks coffee.
$25.00 is over priced for this course and they are raising it to$30.00 Monday 12/10 /18. Are you kidding me? NOT worth $20.00. Course is in terrible shape, to put it mildly. The only good thing about this course is the clinic instructor Bill Wilson!!!!!!
Course is in decent condition but a fun course and not too hard to play
Nice course, great price. Had to play front 9 twice because water system was on and couldnt get on greens on the back 9.
Excellent golf course excellent driving range. All the employees are very friendly and courteous I enjoy my membership there. And will continue to be a member there. Bill the pro that gives lessons there is excellent very very helpful.
$25 for this course is too much...seriously. The worst course I have ever played. 12 inch rough all over the course, loose a ball every time you hit in the rough, first cut so high you have trouble finding the ball, greens so slow you need a croquet mallet, large bare spots all over the greens. Dont believe what you read about how good the course is, or the condition it is in....all false! Seriously, do yourself a favor and pay a little more for a course that is decent.
Im partial to this course because I more or less learned to play on it. Very forgiving, open holes in most cases. Not especially challenging, but fun to play. Usually great deals available, and the diner-style food in the clubhouse is very good.
I liked it. The course is easy. The grounds were nice enough. We got 18 holes, 2 beers, and lunch for two players for $89. Not bad at all. This is not a fancy course, but its worth playing for a nice easy day where you can work on some fundamentals.
Course is in very bad condition, mostly unkempt, not being taken care of properly. Needs a good groundskeeper and crew. Since reopening, has gone downhill, not up. New owners are doing a poor job if they want people to come and play golf.
This is an economical solution for playing golf and I consider it to be one of the better values locally. Typically you can play this course and get lunch with a beer for around 20 bucks. The course gets a lot of traffic, so its sometimes beat up around the greens. The course is mostly open and the water is off to the side on most holes, so its difficult to lose too many balls. Because of the local popularity and the lack of starters enforcing speedy play, it can take all of 4+ hours to get through the course when it is busy.
Slow. Everyone is backed up on hole 2
Great place to begin the golf season; wide fairways that take those early season misfits well, putt straight to the hole and a lunch and two drinks included in the greens fee. Made for a great day!!!!
A basic golf course. The layout is somewhat pedestrian and the conditions were meh.
Since its opened back up the greens are in fair shape but as soon as the owner gets the okay to build it will close again. So enjoy while its still open.
Very nice course for the beginning golfer. Very reasonable fees. Very popular with the older crowd
It is a great little course affordable, friendly, a step in to the past. It would be great if we could only keep it serving as the much needed working mans golf course.
Good place to work on your golf game
Good golf course & great food in restaurant. Busy Friday fish fry buffet include dessert
Great love the new cook and Barb is back.
Older crowd during the summer. People pull the cart directly up to the green. ( My pet peeve ) but the price is right. Lots of singles play. We just let them pass trough.Sometimes during the wet summer months the fairways get thick since the cant mow them as fast
Course is currently closed! Big things are taking place for the Nov. 15, 2018 re grand opening
For $35- not bad
Its local the atmosphere is nice . The cart path could use some redoing after so many years
The staff that works there are great, the people are very friendly . the food is very good, but this time of year its so busy a round of golf takes 5 hours to play and the greens need a little work.
Played 9, $25 with lunch.
Cheap golf, wide open
Cheap and easy to get t time . Lunch and drinks included. Course is long enough for average golfer but maintenance is only fair. Greens are too slow, traps are not groomed, players dont rake traps. Very average public course,
For a public golf course they take very good care of everything the greens are beautiful its just a very nice restaurant very nice food very pleasant to play there
Easy, pretty much wide open if you hit the ball fairly straight.
Great for a close to home place. Good off season rates
Busy course during season. Be sure to make a tee time.
I go on Friday nights for their All You Can Eat Fish. Special will be ending soon, much to my dismay. Waitresses are super friendly and always watching your table to see if you need anything else.
Good value but not very challenging. Not many hazards
The pro shop allowed a group of 8 players to play together. Finally when our group caught up to them on the 12th hole they wouldnt let us play through until the next hole. They were drunk, rowdy and playing Bumper Cars with the golf carts. I phoned the pro shop and it took 20 minutes to get someone out to the course to put a stop to it. I wouldnt go back to this course. This course has no class and it appears that the management is lacking the ability to discipline this behavior.
I love playing here. The people are super and the course keeps getting better and better. the greens are beautiful.
A very nice course !
Good golfing with a quick burger after you are done.
The best bargain in Southwest Fl.Golf course is in great shapeBreakfast lunch and beer for $21.00Food is goodCourse is funService is goodand the beer is coldCant beet it with a stick!
Everything about this course is above par, from the condition of the course, to the quality of the management. I was part of the so called Eightsome First the gentleman below did not attempt to play through, as soon as he was on the hole behind us we stopped and allowed them to play through. We were celebrating a friend of ours 50th birthday with 7 of our best friends. We were also playing in 20+ mph winds, so disturbing anyone by was not a problem.Positives of the course, The greens and fairways are in amazing condition even with all the rain we have had lately, the clubhouse looks amazing, and the staff is courteous as always! I apologize for the Eightsome but when playing in the conditions we were playing in, I hardly think of it as a disruption! Thanks again Rolling Green
Good value
Nice course. Well kept greens.
Reasonable course for what you pay, especially in the shoulder months. Mostly flat, boring layout, a few good holes.
Great service great food and a nice track to play on
Good driving range.
Fish fry was ok the carrot cake was great
The golf is good the food is great and the service is outstanding.
Great place had fun very laid back casual
Only went there for practice on the range. The range is ok. Nothing exciting. Balls are old and would need upgrade. The putting green is very nice and large. Pitching green with bunker is small but good. They charge 9 $ for a large. Not exactly a deal. But in todays world all practice balls cost more. If they would be in shape, it would be justified though. I like the targets they have. They are like Donald Ross greens. We had a beer after practice. Price is ok and beer was cold and good. The server at the bar was very nice. Pro shop employee was ok, Could be friendlier. The range employee was ok, but they could have someone friendlier. Overall I will be back for practice when in the area. They do offer a nice practice deal and once I played the course I will see if I do that.
Great place to get a round in, nice open course, but challenging by design, restaurant staff great, pro shop person could be a little more courteous
Best value in the area for a golfer.
Poorly maintained course
Great.
Greens fast
Very poor condition
Fun place to place. Not to long of a course.
Awesome as always
Public course...kinda beat up..very super cheap...good place to knock it ariund
