Its going to be mixed depending on the field you get. Some have shade, some dont. I wish they all did, but I have seen much worse fields. The parking is horrendous here, and there doesnt seem to be a real system. Its give me your money, and good luck. They have some good stuff for concessions, and the extra vendors are a nice touch.

Great and inexpensive day to spend with our son and grandson at Sarasota Cal Ripken Baseball Club. Players were friendly and kind in stopping to chat with the boys and sign their baseballs.

I think its fantastic that we have all these ball fields for kids...but I wish there was better shade for everyone and I wish they werent inundated with ants!

I spend ALOT of time at this ballpark ... and eat a lot of meals here. Really good snack bar. Nice playing fields (9 total), lots of parking, good shade / bleachers for games. Many good times and fond memories at this park ... (with more to come, Im sure).

Absolutely love everything associated with this park. I played here and lived nearby for 37 years. Every time I see the parking lot full and fans cheering it brings me fulfilment. Thank you to all of the volunteers and employees of any title and sponsors that are responsible for providing this opportunity to our youth. Yes the park is not as modernized as others, but so what. The lights come on, the fields are maintained, and a game can be played without any differences of playing somewhere with the looks. Im reading some of these reviews as if this place is dilapidated. To that I say remove your negative glasses and put the positive lenses on. ALOT goes in to being able to put on tournaments and seasonal ball. Yes, it isnt as nice as some, but the kids love it and make memories every time they step on the field.

Getting a little run down compared to other local baseball fields. Park at your own risk as far as foul balls go.

Best local, (old school) ball fields in town -- my son loves playing & practicing here - the facilities bring me back to my childhood days playing ball growing up!!!

Sarasota should have better facilities for their youth. Manatee county has nicer, cleaner and safer fields.

If I were Cal Ripken, I would be embarrassed to have my name associated with such an antiquated facility. Everything, from the sewer system to the parking lot (see quagmire when it rains), needs a major face-lift. Pitching mounds are poor, and its easy to see why so many young pitchers hurt their arms!

Great place for kids to play ball and develop their skills. Not as many teams in the league as we are used to but, it is still competitive.
