This was a virtual class that was very well timed. Vlad starts by teaching his approach on drawing a value sketch. Once hus sketch is complete he explains his thinking process as he decides what area to paint next, how to balance the values throughout, and the mixing of colors. Although many of his colors are neutral, there is a definite richness and temperature to them and he articulates how we can replicate them. As I strive to be more loose, Vlad would verbalize his own self talk to tell himself to leave it alone and remind us that we dont want to simply copy the photograph. The class was well-timed with ample time to paint, follow instructions, and ask questions. Vlad is encouraging and responsive to questions. I will definitely be taking another of his classes.

I Just recently took a paint along class from Vlad and I must say it was fantastic, just seeing him paint, watching him mix colors on the paper, and putting together a tonal sketch to start with was very informative, I will definitely join in on another paint along.
