Perhaps the worst experience ever in Santa Rosa. I’ve lived most of my life in SR and never been to this park. I decided to go for a run around town, decided to stop at that park since it has bathrooms and I needed to use one. First thing I see is about 5 RVs blocking the road leading in to the park, they are literally next to a elementary school. As I head to the bathrooms I see more homeless, which I didn’t mind but they were drinking alcohol in the park. Worst yet as I open the bathroom there was a lady with a crack pipe smoking up, I decided to leave and as I was heading out I was somewhat mugged by 2 clearly intoxicated males to which the kept following close as I was on my phone, I never feared for my safety since I’m always carrying, but I can definitely see this being a problem for someone who can’t defend them selfs

Shady picnic areas covered by ancient oaks. Parking is okay, but a lot of motor homes parked on premises. The kids park is okay, but unfortunately is partly in the sun. A good field for playing catch or a small game of soccer. Restrooms. Water fountains for drinking. Bar b ques available.

Large landscape with plenty of parking spaces. Lots of grassy areas open to the sunshine as well as areas shaded by trees. The side of the park I visited had 4 available bathrooms (with toilet paper!!) which is a plus as not all local parks do. There is much more to this park that I didnt explore so Im sure Im leaving some things out. I did see a community room and there was a band playing for a large group of people on the other side so Im sure that means private events are allowed. It was so serene for being in the middle of the city that I felt like I was camping.

Unofficial campground for homeless people. I counted 16 vehicles which were many RVs as well.Google..give them a place to park and live. With of course firm mandatory rules or expectations. Let them work as a community.

The Park has A Young-Kids Play Ground At The Western End And A Baseball Diamond At the Eastern End. There is A Dog Run in the Middle, Which No One Uses. Dogs Run Without Leashes Throughout the Park (Poop Was Every Where. Not Picked Up), as Their Owners Walk Laps Around The Perimeter Trail. Homeless Haven. The City Recently Removed Picnic Benches And Barbecue Pits. Barely Receive A WiFi signal Anywhere In The Park.

I took my kids there, and as we rolled up to the Grand playstructure, I commented to my son that it looked liked Disneyland in bizzarro world, because of the homeless encampment, made there front and center.*Update: due to some citizen parents calling out the idiocy of having an open air drug market and homeless encampment next to an elementary school, our do little City of Santa Rosa cleared out the park of vagrants. For the first time in 10 years, a regular person can enjoy this lovely park. I have updated the ranking to 5 stars- until the zombies return.

I like this place even though there is a lot of strange, homeless cruising. People camp out in there cars an socialize. There is an off guy with big territorial dogs in a baby carrier. There are people at the dog park with aggressive dogs. There are hooligans who throw rocks at the park structure. But there are lots of nice folks strolling with dogs, too. Nice to walk near stream and see critters. Wish there wasnt litter on the ground. Good half mile circle walk for dogs and dog park, but be careful who you are in there with.

This is truly a small hidden gem of a park in Santa Rosa, but the company youll find there is always... interesting. While some people go to Doyle for a few hours, most of the folks you will find at Doyle are residents of the park. They arent unfriendly, but they will share the space with you.

Ive been going to doyle park since i was a child in the late 1960s, its kept clean and also a nice dog park located on the premises my only warning and issues if walking a dog in from Sonoma Avenue entrance Ive noticed that the homeless has taken refuge in the beautiful creek inside and Ive had Pit bulls run up to me belonging to the homeless and youre pretty helpless trying to protect your pet, i havent experienced this if entering from the hoen Avenue side but the police were cracking down on this si should be remedied soon i hope.

Doyle park is a bit on the creepy side, I think. I like the off-leash play area. Mostly nice people and dogs hanging out there. But, theres fairly often homeless people hanging out, so it doesnt seem like it is necessarily the safest place on the planet.

Fair sized enclosed areas for large and small dogs. The gates arent very secure though and my fifteen pound border terrier was able to slip out one of the small dog gates. There are lots of nice, shady trees and some logs on the ground. There are bark chips on the ground and the small dog area has some crab grass. At nine in the morning on a weekday I saw lots of dogs on walks through the park but none came into the dog areas to play.No tennis balls or poop bags, but there is water in both the small and large dog areas.

So sad to see how dirty and unsafe it was my cousin paid for a reservation for her daughters birthday party and when we got there it was littered with trash and there was a homeless person tent in one the corner we had to call a police officer to make sure there was no one inside they told us that there was nothing they could do to remove the tent all he did was check to make sure that there was nobody in there the restrooms were very durty no toilet paper and there is no posted signs saying that the space we had was even reserved so we got into an argument with another person trying to take over our place all in all very very upsetting to my niece whose party was supposed to be a good day

Decent dog park which usually has a small number of dogs visiting. So far Ive only encountered responsible dog owners there, which pick up after their dogs and keep them under control when needed. Dog park area is separated with an area for smaller dogs and one for bigger dogs but Ive yet to see any dogs in the small dog area. The small dog area is grass while the large dog area is covered in woodchips. There is running water and a bowl for the dogs and plenty of seating area, in the form of tree trunks, for the people. The general park itself is completely overrun by homeless people though, with the creek being used as a public toilet and dogs running off leash in the general park area with no one picking up after them.
