Great public park. Has lots of open grass, basketball courts, kids play area and meeting rooms. There are many classes available. There are no baseball or soccer fields.

PRAISE JESUS - SEPT 2020 - Well designed park with public library onsite. Kids playground, swings, sandbox, lots of grass, tables, BBQ grills and retail stores near. Two basketball courts. Pet friendly. Tolerant of the homeless with several basic resources. Easy parking, and 6 clean, outdoor toilets with lockable doors.

Great place to make out and get drunk after sunset. Too many mosquitos.

This park is home to the Saturday Pico Farmers Market. The market is great, although not quite as good as it used to be. Except for the market, I dont spend much time in this park, but walking around it seems that there is a nice children play area, a basketball court, and other community facilities that are well-maintained and attractive. There is also the newest Branch of the Santa Monica Public Library, which is a great Public Library. The new Branch seems to be focused on computers and audio and visual media.

Simple park, has a good amount of space to chill, walk, eat, etc.

The park is spacious and a great deal of picnic areas available.

The problems plague all government controlled property. The presence of the unwanted electronic management systems. The citys should concede the parks to the people. allowing the neighborhood to select volunteer committee to secure all services from those who will benefit the most: property owner

Looking for somewhere to relax and came across Virginia Park what caught my eye was the Farmers market so I stopped by, but not before shooting some hoops with some guys who were just shooting around.... Turns out I spent more than an hour shooting around with these guys none the less the Virginia Park has a real relaxing yet comfortable feel everyone at the park was friendly.... but all the fresh produce that was being sold at the Farmers market was a great way to end my day at the park real good prices and straight from the source.....

I love to go here because I can charge my car and go to the library as I wait for the my Honda to charge. On top of that I could also sneak in a workout and eat right after since it takes 2 hours for a full charge. Best part is getting a free charge :D

Really nice park with lots of options for kids of all ages. 2 nice basketball courts, large grass area for various sporting and games, a playground, and a small library with a variety of foreign language books. The one downside is that there were several homeless folks sleeping throughout the park while I was there.

Nice fresh fruit and veggies. the breakfast stand has delicious breakfast burritos. nice atmosphere with musicians playing whikne you shop.

Free parking with several charging stations. There are two parking lots first one off Pico Boulevard second on the back side off of Virginia Avenue. There are two full size outdoor basketball courts. There is a branch Santa Monica library. There are several rooms use for community meeting and can be rented out for parties. There is several kids play area. Plenty of room to have a soccer game.

Great place for sports. Love that the library is right there. Great place to chill and read.

Nice park to take the kids and relax but ever so often there are people smoking around the area past 7pm. Other than that, its a nice addition to the city.

This is a great park for everyone. It holds a very good Farmers market on Saturday with loads of fresh, some organic, produce plus baked goods, etc.The park offers compfy surroundings, open spaces for children, basketball court, grassy areas. Theres a library, classrooms for health and wellness plus space for childrens programs and exercise. Its a wonderful open space in the Pico neighborhood.

Great atmosphere and not to mention friendly people. Great for family and pets or a simply get together.

A nice little park in the heart of Santa Monica it has a beautiful little place structure, a library, and a lot of common areas with trees that shade the grass.

Took us a while to actually find the mosaic stairs... Its not exactly on the top of the hill of the park but down 2 flights of stairs.Beautiful artwork! Made my day to see it.A local said there was another set of mosaic stairs around the bend, but we never found it.

Clean park and the room rental that we had was spacious. Kids had a blast.

Plenty of things to do in this park as well as a library and a Whole Foods 360 located conveniently across the street. Hows the weather great place to relax and people watch. Sometimes overcrowded.

Nice park for kids, dogs. It has the library too. Another nice thing is that Whole Foods is next to it so if you forgot your snack... don’t worry

Great park, had some issues about 5-6 years ago.Great courts and great place to spend a few hours on the weekend.Parking can be tough but if you are lucky or patient then hazzah!

I love this park, theres a library and plenty of parking. Clean with nice place to chill and play for kids.

Its a great place for children and safe. Library at the park opens at 12 noon to 9 pm except on weekends time varies, also has several outreach and community events. Great quiet place

Its a nice open place for families, friends, gatherings, picnics, and celebrations. There are meeting rooms, a library, picnic tables, barbeques, a playground, basketball courts, bathrooms and a walking path. Take your dogs (on leash), kids, grandparents, your whole family or a blanket and a good book. There are markets and restaurants nearby in case you wanna grab something to eat.What they dont have is a tennis court, baseball diamond or a bunch of organized sports where uptight parents, overly competitive adults, and a bunch of kids take over the park.Theres parking off Pico, Cloverfield and Virginia Park. The Santa Monica Blue Bus runs on Pico. The Expo Line isnt too far but I suggest getting off at Sepulveda and taking the bus down Pico.And if you should run into a group of homeless folks hanging out or having a barbeque, they are just having a good time like any other group of people. No need to be afraid. Maybe you could strike up a conversation. After all, they are your neighbors too.Enjoy your day!

Full service recreational facility. A building devoted to Teens, a library, child child center adjacent to play fields, picnic areas with BBQs & basketball courts. An especially popular feature is the large-size wading fountain that accommodates children & adults. Very safe feeling environment.

Clean, Safe, Covid-Safe

Visiting from out of town and took our 11-month old grandson to try out the playground. What a pleasure to have sturdy equipment--swings, slide, climbing, riding things--with sand and cushioned ground cover. Everything is first-rate. Age-appropriate, clean, friendly. A playground for older children was set apart. Wanted to visit the adjacent public library but didnt open until Noon. The perimeter of the Park has a hard-pack walking trail, perfect for baby strollers, walkers, and joggers. Expansive lawn area but was off limits, perhaps due to saturation from the rainy weather all week. Parking relatively easy. Thank you Santa Monica. Well be back.

Fantastic park with tons of stuff for kids of all ages. The splash pad is awesome for the little ones along with the adjacent playground while the greenspaces and basketball courts are perfect for older kids and adults.

This park is always a great place to be. Basketball courts playground Library barbecue grills open field. Not much more you can ask for the park. Spacious.

Always a great Farmers Market on Saturdays. All the festivals and events are wonderful. The new Library is beautiful. There is a fair amount of parking, as well.

Great place for a pick up game and nice little library to boot. Try Asian Box across the street for two dollar beers and decent Asian food.

Best park in Santa Monica to ball out. Great community - - A lot of foreigners come and play here, many go to SMC. I dont really know why Im reviewing a park, but this place rocks!

Ive passed this park for several years and it wasnt until I had my kid that I started coming here. He absolutely loves the splash pad during the summer months and Ill be bringing him back definitely

Definitely a park to check out it has Lighting in the swing and playground area for night time fun and safety. I stopped by here for a late night snack at one of their tables and their seating area next to the library. I rate this place five stars because it is clean has a good vibe and theres always very few people in the evening. Definitely a spot to check out during the day as well, just be sure to check the calendar for events, but the events are worth attending by the looks of the staging that was sit out the other day when I passed by.

It’s nice when the Splash pad is open. It’s supposed to open Memorial Day weekend and now it’s June 21st and the pad is still “down for maintenance”. Lots of disappointed kids the day I came thinking it was open. Didn’t they have all winter to get this ready for summer?

The environment, gardens and the trees are very nice and mind attracted.

Beautiful park. Great scenery, quiet, and spacious. I go to sit and read, sometimes play basketball or fly a kite. Very clean restrooms that are wheelchair accessible. With plenty of trash receptacles the park stays trash free and is a great place for families to take the kids.

Great activities for kids. They also have a great program for kids from 0 to 5 on Monday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. . I love this park. They show movies in the summer. They also have a great Farmers Market as well. The play area is nice and always clean. Its one of my favorite go-to parks with my daughter

This park has everything I like: basketball, sand, childrens playground, grass, study place, library, etc.

They have a weekly farmers market on Saturday mornings where they expand the main parking lot. During the summer, they offer some water activities. They have two playground structures - one for the older kids and one for the younger children and they have a huge field for soccer as well as a basketball court. They also have a library and two free parking lots. You could get your fun, fitness, food and literacy needs all in one spot, depending on the day. They also host some special festivals throughout the year.

Really nice view! Great place to come for a picnic or just relax. The grass is nice and green still and at night the view is even better. A great place for a romantic date or just to take a cool picture of CA.

This is a great clean little park with relatively few bumsand no gangs. It also has two full-size basketball courts and its own Library. The Santa Monica library system is magnificent and it is usually not too crowded in there. Its in a good neighborhood in Santa Monica with a Whole Foods Market and a Jiffy Lube and Asian box across the street. Im Davy.Rocks and I work out in the park while my battery is charging in the library up for my show on the Santa Monica Pier.

Farmers market on Saturday was a bit pricey. This is probably due to the number of farmers participating- more farmers= more competition. The facilities are great, clean and lots of parking. All the people working the market were helpful and knowledgeable

The courts can be always busy but great neighborhood space all around.

We stopped there for lunch and it was nice. Homeless people had taken over a couple of the picnic tables but there were still plenty of places to sit and eat. Id definitely go there again.

Nice park. Its pretty small. It has a water play area that Im sure kids absolutely love. The restrooms are alright but usually have no tissue. Also there is no dispensary for soap to wash your hands with. The library is absolutely tiny. Its probably great for kids, not so much for older students. But overall this is a lovely park. There are some homeless people there at night but they actually seem like nice regulars there.

Go say hi to Alvin at Present Prefect indoor garden/ nursery. But some plants, smell some flowers.-Steven

Once a month there is a class on something about cooking or making dried vegetables or preserves or anything related to the kitchen/food/market.I keep going whenever I can get a spot (very often they are sold out) for two reasons: its always good to learn new ways to work with food, and because this farmers market is VERY good... even though a bit far from our house, its worth the driving.And then there is the park activities... well cared and maintained park.

Great place for kids who love water. Parking and restroom near by. However I found the restrooms quite warned down. Water play area with the surrounding trees and shade were great.

I love this place. When I first came here I was not sure what to expect. However, the wonderfully green park was something I will never forget. If you are feeling adventurous like I was, give this place a try!

Great park with a fun splash pad, sandy play area, cool climbing for older kids, a basketball court and a library. You can easily spend a few hrs without the looks being bored!

A wonderful little neighborhood park with restrooms, lots of trees and grass, a splash pad, and an indoor patio for birthday parties or other gatherings. There are parking spaces but not enough of youre having a gathering or party and street parking was scarce on a Saturday. Maximum occupancy for the patio is 40 people and you have to reserve it in advance.
