Used to be an incredible golf course but, they have kind of let the golf course get away from them truth be told. I love the ownership they are good people but theres a lot of stuff still lacking.
Mediocre course, majority of cart paths were dirt ruts. Became covered in dust by the 2nd hole, which the windy conditions do not help. Fairways wrre decent with some long drives. Extremely rude of someone from the club house to come ride up and tell us to play faster. I am fine with someone playing through. We were with 2 new golfers, which we stated when checking in. These two felt so intimidated and embarrassed they dont want to play golf again. Extremely unprofessional.
Nice greens and good priced
The course is nice but I thought that it was very rude of someone from the club house to come tell us we needed to play faster. We all pay the same amount to play so I don’t feel that I should have to rush to play. We would of let the group behind us play through if they caught up to us. I will not be coming back to play at this course unless it’s a tournament.
Keep up the good work the course looks great
Great local place to play
This golf course is very unique. You start at a level first hole then go up a slight uphill, not very noticeable until you get to the 5 hole. They have the best breakfast buffet and fresh cooked foods.... locals are missing a hidden gem..️
Tough very few level spots in the Fairways and a lot of elevation changes. Greens are true but again hard most have a good amount of break. Nice pro shop good food and bar. The strangest thing was no tops on the golf carts. The sun must not shine in Santa Maria take sun screen in case it does.
Great golf course always will be
The Old guy that is about 75 years old is very very rude. I have went into the clubhouse many times to buy gloves, Bars, etc. I just went there To play a game and he was very rude and not pleasant at all. He ruins it for the whole clubhouse. I am never going here again!!! I suggest you never go here either
Great place to play Golf for all experience levels. Course is in great shape and the rates are reasonable. Place has been packed everytime I go so that says alot in itself. This place is popular for sure. Go check it out!
Fun course with pretty open fairways and decent greens. Scenic back 9 and can get pretty windy. Nice folks running the pro shop and dining area.
It is nice and fun to play I think evry body should play it it is so fun
Fun golf course with some neat holes! The bar and grill has some tasty food and a nice beer selection!
Decent course. Fairways need a little weed control. Greens are good and challenging. Courteous management
The course is very well maintained and interesting hole designs. The green fees are affordable and a very good value. With the moderate central coast weather it can be played year round. The practice facilities are top notch and also affordable. The personnel are helpful, efficient and friendly. A cut above most public golf courses.
If you are looking for an affordable place to play a round or practice your drive then this is the place for you. That said, the desk staff is ...well Ill get to that.Pros:- Its cheap compared to most courses, even cheaper if you play at dusk- They have a driving range, approach range, and putting green- They have a club house, gear for sale, and carts/clubs for rent- Great views from some of the holes especially at sunsetCons:- They keep your credit card info..w/ your name and phone number on an old computer which several people can access for at least a year (I know because I hadnt been there in a year and when I went they still had all my info).- Some* of the staff act snobby- They require your phone number before you can play. (Yes, I understand why. However excuse me if I dont want to had over my information to people that store it on a computer running Windows XP and who give me a hard time after I try to politely decline to give them my digits.)- The food at the clubhouse is overpriced and not that good (Just bring your own food)- They dont have water fountains anywhere on the course..well, okay, they have one but its disgusting and hardly flowsI do not recommend this course, go to the Santa Maria country club.
Good layout.
Really fun. Harde4 than you might think and the snack bar has the best grilled hot dogs
My friends and I from work golf here and hit the beautifully kept range after work. One of the best quality and best value golf courses Ive been to!
Rancho Maria is your average golf course in almost every way. They have okay food, an easy, fairly well kept course, and a healthy amount of players. However their service is far from average. Its awful. While most of their staff is about average one person stands out far below the rest. This wonderful person is Doug. Doug is the most unpleasant human being I have ever interacted with on a golf course. Doug works at the main desk at Rancho Maria and enjoys long walks on the beach, a good round of golf, and being a complete and utter jackass to anyone he doesnt believe to be familiar with Rancho Maria. I have been to Rancho a few times over the past five or so years and until my last visit, I was lucky enough not to have to deal with Doug. However, this time I was not so fortunate. Originally Doug seemed really nice. He joked with me and my friends while we paid for our rounds, but when he gave me my total it was significantly more than it usually is during their super twilight hours (after 4 PM). After asking for my receipt, I noticed that I had been charged for a full golf cart even though my friend had already paid for the cart himself. I asked why I had been charged for a full cart to which Doug responded to me by raising his voice and calling me incompetent before finally explaining that I was paying to be a passenger. He then angrily gave me my money back for the cart and told me to walk the course. This doesnt seem to be out of character for Doug as he charged the young men in front of me for renting a set of clubs after he found out that they were going to share clubs, which I have never seen any other clerk do. I wont be going back to Rancho and will instead opt to go to Blacklake or some other course and I would reccomend you do the same if you are a young player or someone who is visiting the area.
Outstanding golf course! The staff is friendly and willing to work with scheduling. Tee times are spaced well so there isn’t added pressure from stacked line-ups. Above all, a round of gold at Rancho Maria is fairly priced and the grounds are lush.
Great place to golf, love it!
The course was in good shape. The greens were fast and true. It was windy, as is usually the case. I hit every club in my bag. Its a fair test and an excellent value.
A truly enjoyable golfing experience and the pro shop staff and management are exceptional. Highly recommended on your next trip to the Central Coast
T- boxes and greens need some work.
Great food and the golf course is the best around and driving range is cheap
Fun course. Good rates. Greens are usually really good. If youre not hitting it straight it can be challenging but not too long of a course where you cannot recover. All Par reachable in 2 for most single digit handicap.
Been playing there for awhile really enjoy the course.
Well maintain course very nice staff
Like the layout for golf and restaurant good
Very nice place to golf.
Fun course.
Keep an eye out for the wild cat at dusk! So beautiful!
The staff that work there are all too friendly, great golf course, great cooks, the starters there will always show you respect and offer help if you need it.. bottom line is that theyre a great bunch of people atvRancho
Everyone that works there are very friendly and helpful,All starters greet you with respect...i call it my home course now....
Great golf course & club house
Challenging course, could use a little work on the fairways. Scenery is fantastic and makes for a good walk.
Beautiful Golf Course lots of quail bunnies and beautiful things to see. The golf course is in great condition. The food in the restaurant is delicious. Everyone is nice at Rancho Maria
Getting dried out.. typical for this time of year. But .... you get lots of extra yardage!
Not too bad of a course. Not really challenging but they keep it looking good.
I played Rancho Maria last Thursday. The course is beautiful, the ladies I played with were welcoming and all great golfers. The greens were especially smooth. This was my first experience at Rancho Maria. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I am looking forward to next week.
Great time and fun place for friends and family.
Great layout, challenging with the wind.
Ive been playing here for years always had a good time
Nice stress free course to play and learn on! Everyone is nice here!
This place has the best staff and ground maintenance...Golf is good too.
5 and a 1/2 hours to finish a round thats too long
Well upkept . Great staff! Will come back again again
Great bunch of guys, the staff are very respectful, knowledgeable, more than friendly ..the waitress and cooks are the best...
Although I played well, $28/per is twice what its worth. If you enjoy slow play, than this is the course for you. The greens were lumpy and the fairways were filled with tight lies. Go to Morro Bay, Dairy Creek, or Paso Robles for better courses.
Excellent place for tournaments, prices are reasonable.
Its decent - good if you dont feel like driving too far and you live in town.
This is a beautiful, well maintained Golf Course.I wish to get out there more
Decent condition, good challenge, walkable, not crowded and very affordable
Great setup! Tricky greens. Cant wait to go back.
Best place to unwind and relax after a hard week of work
Very nicely maintained, especially considering the very reasonable green fees.
Nice course but windy as heck today
Great place fun
Excellent staff and well maintained
Played 9 (back) its not a particularly scenic track, the fairways were alright the greens smooth and fast. For the money there is nothing to complain about.
Friendly staff and very clean course.
Beautiful course!
Good value course, never crowded, really enjoyed the round.
The course is nice but i didnt like the staffs attitude
Great course. Good value
Nice open course well kept
Good times, good service a good environment
Nice layout, conditions are okay.
I think golf is stupid.
