We are regulars at Sweetwater Harvest Kitchen, when we come to Santa Fe. The dinning experience was excellent considering the circumstances. Sweetwater has an edge on other restaurants, in that the food quality remains of the highest caliber and dinning in is even more relaxing than it was before COVID-19.

I arrived around 9:40AM on a Thursday and the parking was completely full (although the lot is super small, probably can fit 6-8 cars). I parked a bit on the side of the road and made it work though, and then started the hike. The hike up to Atalaya Mountain wasnt too bad nor too steep, and I took the steeper way up which took about an hour. The view at the top of the mountains was mediocre although theres a pretty good city view. On the way down through Dale Ball, I really appreciated all the sign postings at every intersection; every park should be that way! The views on the way down were slightly better so that was nice. Trail is mostly shaded on the way up, unshaded on the way down.

We checked out some of the trails during our stay in Santa Fe before our rafting weekend. They were marked clearly and most were not to strenuous for my asthmatic daughter to hike. We would definitely hike these trails again the next time were in the area.

What a boon to the people of Santa Fe to have this trail system right in their own backyard! Very well marked trails suitable for hiking, mountain bikes or horses. Pet friendly. Bring water, sunscreen and snacks if you want to do a longer hike. Parking is ample. Everyone we encountered on the trail was courteous and friendly. Highly recommend.

Ok so everyone that claims this is an easy trail is either high or used to the altitude. I hike a lot and this trail is HARD! Especially if you are not used to the altitude. We all fell coming down because of the slick gravel conditions. Hikers Beware!!! Bring LOTS of water and plan for a 3 hour hike if you want to make it to the top. Avoid the hours between 12-5 during the summer, its HOT!

Best place to hike close to Santa Fe with some flat areas and peaks that give great expansive views of the surrounding area. It is a large network of trails with three separate parking lots along the foothills. There is a wide variety of terrain good for hiking, running, and mountain biking.

Excellent fun and easy trail, historic significance and all the goods you would want in a nice hiking area. Can get muddy in the winter as the trail is not paved at all. Still worth it just to get your mind on something other than the crazy world we live in.

Not great trails for biking. Probably just fine for hiking. Cool country. A bad note: our car got broken into on Cerro gordo (probably butchered name) on one access for Dale Ball trails. Park where there are lots of cars. Take your precious stuff with you. Just saying.

There are an infinite number of places to hike and backpack in New Mexico, but it is very important to be acclimated to the altitude and be prepared for the physical challenge of climbing the mountain terrain. The Dale Ball trails offer newcomers, vacationers and beginning hikers a place to get started. All the trail intersections are well marked with easy to understand signs and trail maps. Great place to start the journey.

Great MTB trail system on east edge of Santa Fe, connected to other trails to the north of Dale Ball Trails. Plenty of grand views, nice flow trails, all skill levels can find something here. 20 minute ride from Plaza. Will always ride this while in Santa Fe, MUST DO!! 3 or 4 hour ride, then all down hill through beautiful Santa Fe neighborhoods to Plaza for food and beers after ride. Great Bike Lanes to and from Dale Ball Trails. Gem in Santa Fe. A+++++++++

We take the dogs on this Trail quite often. It takes only 40 minutes to reach the top of the low peak. Lovely old Sequoias line the trail along with ancient minerals in the form of boulders. Wonderful photo opportunities abound. If you take the trail to the left where the trail Forks you will find yourself on a two and a half mile trek to atalaya Peak

The Dale Ball bike trails are so much fun. They are really well signed and you can make your ride as short or as long as you like. In the dead of summer it can get unbelievably hot on the trail. So use caution and go in the morning or late afternoon in the and bring alot of water.

The Dale Ball Trails are a short drive from town with plenty of parking. The trails range from easy to moderate if youre a fairly active person. You can get up high enough to see some outstanding views. However, the trails arent that far from civilization and sometimes it can seem like youre in someones back yard. Also, the signage could be more clear. Were experienced hikers and ended up in the road and walking back to the parking lot from there. But, overall, a nice hike.
