Super clean rooms. During the pandemic it was limited amenities no pool spa or gym. For this trip I wasnt interested in the casino though I did walk through to pick up dinner. Rooms are not cleaned unless you schedule it with the front desk they are trying to limit the contact between staff and guest. For my business trip it was perfect spot. Cant wait to come back for a leisure trip.

I ALWAYS enjoy staying here. It is few and far between but worth it. Since the COVID, there has been many, but positive, changes and they are all for the goodness of the health and safety of the staff and any visitors who venture through here. Wow this place is so beautiful- what a hidden gem. It has elegance, warmth sophistication and a American Indian charm that all the other local casinos lack. They have gone overboard with decor and appointments, there are many restaurants and bars throughout property, most of the machines are modern (and the older ones are looser than normal I found out :). I’d like to say it’s about as close to getting to Vegas you can get, but I don’t think Vegas could have done such a good job as this place - sitting in the mountains on the lake by itself. It really is a destination resort. It will definitely be in our travel plans anytime we take the trip from Texas To anywhere west.

This place is pretty amazing! Just a few minutes from Santa Fe is a paradise for gambling folks as well as an amazing hotel . The resort has everything youll need with out leaving the property. Whats best is its large enough to not be over crowded . Oh and the rooms are too sweet ️ ! Native American/ New Mexico inspired architecture makes for great photo ops ! Beautiful pet friendly hotel ! We arrived with two dogs and they happily welcomed them ($75.00 fee)The room was amazing and had the most comfortable beds . We will definitely return!

Stayed one night at hotel and it was awful! The bed was uncomfortable and the hallway smelled. No places to eat other than a sandwich in the deli...all other restaurants closed, just not worth my time! One restaurant on main casino floor had a line...but staff didnt care...they did not think it was important to greet customers in line. What a mess!

Awesome atmosphere rooms are nice clean and comfy. Long walk to the casino from the rooms though the way they have it set up, but thats the new norm until we get a vaccine

Great resort for the family. They look COVID precautions very seriously, had great customer service, and their facilities are top notch. Took my family of five for a long weekend and even with small children I was detached from the casino so didn’t have to deal with any potential rif-raf.

Our barmaid in the sports bar..very nice. 10 minutes til closing got beer and good apps.

BT is very easy to get to, casino is large enough, I liked the plastic separators the casino felt clean.What I didnt like is requesting a room on the casino side when it didnt make a difference! Due to covid, the elevator does not go to the casino you have to will quite a distance. When I booked my reservation I was specific that I had difficulty walking requested a room near elevator & ended up finding going to the parking lot getting my car was less of a distance / easier in me. Wow get a friggin golf car to drive your older guests!!!

Place is huge, they have every type of slot machine. Facemask required, and temperatures are taking to gain entrance. Plenty of penny slots as well as nickels.

Needs to have more workers cleaning machines and chairs. Was there a few weeks ago and chairs were just pushed in with no cleaning after seeing someone get off of a machine nex to me. This happened a few time while is was at my machine so I got up and left didnt fell safe anymore after seeing that . I reported it to secretary on the way out he responded that they were short on staff.

The staff always on the lookout for cleaning, very well and highly recommended.

I know because of covid everything has changed but I have to mention this, we stayed for four days every time we have a question or we need towels we have to go downstairs because no one would pick up the phone, also our room was not cleaned at all while we were staying.

Machines are tight we spent over $400 and never hit anything over $20

It was nice atmosphere with combination of of newer and older slot machines.

Buffalo Thunder casino and Resort was once one of the best casino resorts in New Mexico but for the past few years it has really gone down hill restaurants suck beds are very uncomfortable and casino machines dont pay at all this used to be my favorite place to get away but not anymore

The Buffalo Thunder Casino and Hotel Resort won’t disappoint travelers to Santa Fe NM looking for a perfect escape from a big city. Nice scenic drive from downtown, their rooms are spacious. Love the ones that have a kiva fireplace. Their casino and restaurants are upscale and comparable to Las Vegas. Perfect escape to unwind from a hustle and bustle of a big city life.

Stay away from this place they are the tightest machines around. I am pretty sure they are skimming your tickets. I put a .52 cent ticket in with a $100 dollar bill just to check. It was on a $1 machine with no change denominations. When I cashed out the last $10 I had. My ticket was $10.36. Where did the rest of the .52 cents go?

Probably good this place closes for a while. It is one of the dirtiest casinos in the area. It has gone down hill for a while now. The hot tub is surrounded with mold. The casino is filthy, the machines are so dirty and covered with ash from smokers and spilled ash trays.

Fun with easy access.

Buffalo Thunder is pretty new still and is a nice looking place. The food has always been very good, the alcohol isnt too expensive and the soda and coffee is free. The hotel accommodations are nice and there is a separate hotel just yards away from the casino! I have heard the golf course is pretty nice too but I havent played on it myself. I havent had much luck here with the slots, and have only played a tiny bit of blackjack, but have a lot of friends that have been Very lucky there! I hope to win next time I go Im definitely due! Give me a if you like!

I don’t gamble and I’ve never stayed here but have been to numerous functions and events. Always well kept, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. The food and drinks I’ve enjoyed at parties and special occasions have always been high caliber.

No alcohol on floor. Hard to find 25c slots either 1c-high roller 25c min 25 but only takes 20 and up. No Indian tacos and the dance club is as big as my bathroom where there is a better party at probably leaving my kids responsible for the house. Ugh

Ive been going here since day 1, and in 2011, 2012, it was awesome! Since then, the greed of the tribe has caused disconcerting losses and retrograde performance in customer service, front desk, reservations, food experience, players club benefits, employee attitudes, overall disheartening appearances from all employees, totally negative attitudes and vibes from casino dealers, pit bosses, servers, and hotel staff. Even to the VIP staff and players club staff.Beautiful place, but some uninterested interests need to be terminated, and start over.I was in retail and customer service for 25+ years, and I would be more than willing to come in and help rescue Buffalo Thunder from a guaranteed slow death.

My favorite place

I knew it had a great casino and resort amenities. Now I also know that it is an outstanding and memorable venue for a huge wedding. Extremely pleasant and well-run.

Took my family for a stay around Christmas we wanted a place with easy access and fun. Building is beautiful. Ordered room service three times to which three of the four staying developed food poisoning one with a hospital stay. The maids were always speaking bad about the customers in Spanish thinking No one would understand. As beautiful as the building is it will be a long time before staying with them again.

We visit the Santa Fe area annually for a family trip. Over the last 6 years, we have stayed at the Hilton/Buffalo Thunder Resort 4 of the years. After staying at the resort again this year during New Years, we have decided it will be the final time our group stays here. We first arrived to a Suite (fireplace and tub) to find that the sheets were not fresh. We then discovered that not only did the fridge not work, but the AC/Heater did not work either. We spent every night attempting to balance out if the fire place should be on or if we needed to open the balcony door half way or fully to cool it down. The worst part about our stay was that this place is more catered to dogs than it is for its high limit casino players. They should rename the resort the Buffalo Dog Pound. After multiple complaints to the front counter about the dogs next to us that would not quit barking (nonstop night and day), we were given $50 in food credit?!?! I would have paid the resort the additional $50 to simply move the guest with the bad tempered dogs. As for the New Years Ballroom even that was brought back by high demand it was an absolute joke. Poorly planned, not to mentioned we payed $30 a person to get in when clearly other guest were casually walking in for free. The party didnt even serve champagne and the cash bar was over priced for bottle beer. It was clear why only 50 attendants were present. Save your self and stay somewhere else, not to mention the casino host at Tesuque Casino will treat you better. For those reading I am a Hilton Honors member and an Elite Players Card holder. Horrible service! Far from downtown and torn furniture in the rooms. Not a cheap hotel for this!! The only nice and friendly staff was our bell boy,he was a sweetheart ️. Liked the indoor pool.

I would have given no star review if I could. I called to inquire if they were RV parking at their facility. We would have gladly gone into the casino and spend a couple hundred dollars. The lady at the concierge told me we could park our RV there but would have to rent a room! Really I have an RV I dont need a room!

Beautiful facility. Hotel is very spread out so expect to take a hike to elevator if you are in newer wing. Hot water quit in middle of husbands shower. Yea, that went over real well phone didn’t work to report problem. Hour later maintenance shows, fixes phone and confirms no hot water. Leaves to ck boiler. 30 min later...he doesn’t know what’s wrong! Desk calls to confirm upgrade...rightly so. Bellman appears 20 min later and we take another hike to new room. So much for early to bed after a long day but they did make it right, although in untimely manner. Parking fills up fast. Probably won’t return.

It was not an issue with the place, it was a rude, inattentive customer service representative. We have many casino experiences available in and around New Mexico and, I can go pretty much anywhere I choose, but you can be sure it will NEVER in involve Hilton.

Its a shame what a year has done to this resort casino. What was once a great place to go play or relax has become nothing more than a greedy corporation. Customer service does not exist. The staff is obviously miserable and hopes everyone that comes there will leave just as miserable. Not a person at any restaurant, any shop or the casino has a smile or kind word to say. The only positive comment I can make is the resort is beautiful and the room was clean. This place could be a goldmine with the right management and staff.

Need attention with room, service, customer satisfaction and had security handle problems which they didnt do when we stayed there. People were rowdy, drunk at pools and nothing was done when I called front desk and they came said nothing n did nothing.

Over rated. Huge price per night over 250 a night, for what? High price low value. Golf course management problems. Course was dry dry dry. Dont go.

I come here every summer, I received offers every month. When I showed up today in August when I normally get birthday free play and a meal. Nothing offered like usual. Might be a declining casino.

Shadeh is cool. I like that it has two separate rooms that play different music. The DJ was playing some 90s and early 2000s songs too, which was awesome. The only thing is that its dead until 12:30-1am. Other than that 5 stars.

Its a really nice casino/hotel! Ive attended MMA Fights here, concerts, and High School Reunions! Along with slot machines they have Table Games. They also have 2-3 clubs. Workout room & swimming pool! The Casino/Hotel itself is beautiful!

This is not a casino it’s a joke they don’t even answer the phone I’ve never seen one table go in the poker room I’ll never go back!

Buffalo thunder is generally one of my favorite casinos around. In fact, this review is replacing one with five stars that I had left last year... Its normally a very fun place, but tonight was upsetting. I had just ran out of money and was waiting for a friend to finish his game when two security workers approached me and warned me loudly not to take leftover credits from the machines, or else theyd have to kick me out. At first, I assumed he was talking to my friend, until he made it clear he was speaking to me.Security was mistaken. And I was wrongfully announced as some sort of thief to those listening nearby. This wont stop me from going to Buffalo, its a hard place to dislike. I only hope this doesnt happen again.

The staff may not be as enthusiastic as larger casinos, but I disagree with other people that they are unhelpful or rude. They were very nice and helpful to me, and there are tons of games here. I thought it was super clean, friendly and easy to enjoy the atmosphere and will definitely come back in the future.

Fun to visit

Came for dinner and gambling and had a fun evening. We ate at Red Sage, which was a very good meal if not the most creative menu. It was pricey, but we felt we got our moneys worth. The wine selection and cocktail upstaged the food a bit. Dessert was the last impressive party of the meal. Next time Id sit on the large patio with its desert view. The casino was nice with a good selection of games and it didnt smell too strongly of smoke. I thought that for a Monday night they should have had more low minimum blackjack tables open. Rules were somewhat different from Vegas but the dealer was helpful. All in all, this was much nicer than I expected for a non-Vegas casino.

Good gambling

Rooms are nice...a little pricey! Fun pool! There is a splash pad too! We rented a shaded cabana for the day and the bartender out by the pool really catered to us! Awesome little grill down in the casino area. There are a few restaurants upstairs. A little bit for everyone....upscale bar and casual dining. It never seems too crowded there....definitely not a Vegas vibe.

Easy check-in, great food, fun casino. You just got to find the machines that hit and youre good to go for the night!

My significant other and I decided to have a quick bite at the deli, We were met with a lot of attitude from the deli attendant. . We paid for our meal, and went on our way. A while later I decided to go back and pick something up to take to our room. Come to find out it was closed (12:15am) I approached the cashiers cage and was informed that there was no place else to get food other than the poker room that had a vending machine. We didn’t come to a resort to eat from the vending machine. I was pretty disappointed over all. I don’t think we’ll be back any time soon, nor will we recommend this place to our friends or family.

The swimming pools and hot tub was awesome....the casino was popping....the food was wonderful.....the room was large and gorgeous....we had fun

Turquoise Trails bar and grill have bad fish and chips. When I got my order it was almost burnt and the tartar sauce had water sitting on top of it like it was out dated. And it took about 20 minutes to finally get the manager to get back to us.

Very nice establishment, very courteous staff. Restaurants are good. golf course is beautiful but manager wasnt very friendly. Make sure you know ahead of time the office closes at 3 most days.
