If anyone out there is trying to find good deals for hotel rooms go over to ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ reserved a hotel room on there and these guys had the absolute best prices any where!I love going to the Chaminade. Its a good place to get away from the chaotic world and ofcourse is where I got married to the love of my life.
A quiet retreat in the hills of Santa Cruz off of Soquel Ave. The pool is heated to 80 degrees so even early morning swims are comfortable. The View Restaurant is beautifully located with forested acerage in the foreground and the Pacific Ocean in the distance. There are tennis courts and hiking trails. I will definitely return!
The people that helped me the first night were exceptional, I asked to move rooms due to noise. And they moved me which was so sweet and I really appreciated it. All I wanted to do was relax and sleep, which made me an outlier surrounded by families and older folks enjoying the resort. Chaminade has always been this shining beacon atop the hills in Santa Cruz where a lucky few can marry, eat and celebrate. I have gone over the years and I was very excited for a nights stay, especially after not sleeping for a week due to a move. So the hotel room was perfect, the bed comfortable, shower warm with superb pressure and I think the highlight would a million percent be the restaurant. They were gracious, kind and the food was superb. They even had STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING which I thought I would never have again outside of the UK. It was life changing, so a must. But the only disappointment I experienced at the Chaminade was calling back about a normal charge I had gotten. I wish I could be impervious to tone and aggravation, but the person did not seem to keen to be talking with me. It was a shame and something that put a shadow on my experience.Overall I would recommend the Chaminade for families who want to play in the pool or hike outside.
The room are ok for the price. We walked the trails which was a nice walk. The pool area was nice and we played games. But the restaurant was terrible. We showed up and were seated promptly. The hostess was great. The waiter failed to attend to our table. After 15min I approached the hostess who chased down the waiter. Long story short, this was a continuous pattern. Except i was walking down the waiter for our drinks.. And for the check.. And for a bottle of wine to go.. Service was terrible. There was no manager around. While we laughed off the bad service, we were here for our anniversary, we expected more. Also, there was only 4 other tables, the waiter wasnt busy.. Just hanging out talking to co-workers.
I travel a lot and I have stayed at many hotels/resorts in my life all over the world. This hotel is no where near a 4 star hotel/resort status. I would expect a 4-star hotel to have at least dual pane windows, and bed sheeting that doesnt make so much noise. We did not sleep all night due to the noise. Rooms need to be upgraded. The resort feels like an old apartment complex. Its hard to find Parking. We paid $350 + resort fee for the night, I am not sure what they are even charging the resort fee for when they can not even provide any services or a parking spot. The trail that goes around the property is not maintained and needs a lot of upkeep. Dont be fooled by the pictures, It is not whats being shown on the photos. There is no elevator, you will have to carry your luggage up the stairs. This hotel is not worth $400 a night, I would rather pick motel 6 over this place. This was our first and last time at this place. NEVER AGAIN!
This is a very charming resort in Santa cruz. It sits on a small hill and the property is around 300 acres. It was a quick getaway for me here for one night. But you can also come here just for spa or for their food. For me, the highlight was Breakfast, it was so yummy. Their restaurant/bar and lounge area are very appealing. We sat outside to have our breakfast and it was a very pleasant experience. The food was delicious. They have one of the best pan cakes I had in a very long time. If you are like me who does not like oats, I do recommend you try their oats once it is very well cooked and so delicious. The staff are very generous and attentive. The accommodation and rooms are very basic I felt. There is a small balcony with seating arrangements with every room. There is gym and an outdoor heated swimming pool (Also jacuzzi) area. If you like walking in nature, then there is a trail at the back as well for you to wander around. I would not come here again for stay but for food and would also like to try the massages here one day.PS - Because of COVID, spa is temporarily closed. There are also some restrictions in the gym and pool area.
Do NOT be Fooled by the Pictures. It is no where near a 4 star hotel/resort. Rooms need a big upgrade. The entire “resort” felt like an outdated apartment complex. Bathroom does not have a door/lock! The pool looked awful. Parking is small and based on whatever slot is open. We checked in and immediately checked out the same day!! That’s how HORRIBLE it was!
Okay stay, with caveats. Stayed here during wildfire evacuation, during the pandemic, so there were no guest room housekeeping services due to social distancing. Also not advisable to use the spa, gym or pool during a pandemic. Yet we were charged the full (hefty) resort fee, which covers those things. Almost none of the other guests were wearing masks or observing social distancing, and the hotel staff did nothing to correct this. There was a great deal of partying on the lawn and around the pool. Check-in clerk was unfriendly. She did not give me the welcome packet I was supposed to receive. Later on, there were glitches in the system around changes with my reservation — messages not being conveyed. So I would say that management is disorganized. Room (ground floor) was spacious and clean. Bathroom tiny but serviceable (very poor water pressure in sink). This is an old hotel, and even though it has been updated it is still showing its age. We could hear every footfall of the guests upstairs (who seemed to be jumping off the bed for fun), and heard a rumble every time they used the sliding door to the bathroom. The AC system is also quite loud, and unreliable during periods of high demand. Beds were comfortable, though, and the property is generally quiet. This is a good choice for those traveling with dogs. The ground rooms have patio doors so you can avoid the hallways if your dog is the nervous type. Plenty of room to walk the dogs, too.
Chaminade Resort sits at the top of a hill on 300 acres of beautiful, well maintained grounds with spectacular views of Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay and Peninsula. Rooms were refurbished about 4 years ago; quirky decorative themes and colors (abacus headboard!) add interest and most rooms have patios or balconies. A large pool and recreation area is great for kids and the resort has many pet-friendly rooms but parking can be problematic when the resort is full. Youll find a space but be prepared for a bit of a walk. The restaurant, bar and lobby were renovated in March 2020 and feature two large fireplace seating areas, one adjacent to the lobby and another next to the View restaurant and bar. The restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating with expansive views of the Bay. The menu was pandemic-limited but all dishes were creative, well-prepared, and reasonably priced for a destination resort. The staff was uniformly pleasant, professional and helpful, even tracking down a magazine I misplaced and delivering it to our room.Overall, a solid 4.5 star resort - well be adding it to our getaway list!
It was ok. The view was good and the service was amazing. The food was, just ok. I had the cheese board and the steak tacos. Also had the tempura green beans. All the food, just ok. Had two drinks and they were good and flavorful. They were both martinis but didnt have the alcohol a martini would have. Overall if youre looking for a place that looks nice, has a nice view, or excellent service then definitely come here. I wouldnt go for the food and drinks alone. Again, the food wasnt bad it just wasnt anything special or unique.
Beautiful Scenery and Relaxing and Quite. Perfect for finding yourself with your thoughts.
Its a decent hotel. One step above a Holiday Inn. What it is not is a resort. Services are lacking. I ordered a cheese plate and wine for my arrival. It took two phone calls and 2 hours for it to arrive. When it did arrive the cheese was sweating and the wine was hot. The bed was too hard and the sheets were scratchy. The property itself was ok but nothing to write home about. Very unsatisfactory.
From booking to check out Chaminade created a simple and wonderful experience.During this unprecedented time were in, celebrating a teenagers birthday was something we couldnt do as we normally would. So, we thought coming to this resort and just hanging out would be fun. We swam walked around and in the eucalyptus forest. The front desk brought milk and cookies for the birthday girl with a sweet card.It was incredible! This resort sits right on top of the mountains the sun just soaks you up, it is a great location!Oh BTW, we chose the executive suite-- really cool set up. Oh and I brought lysol wipes to disinfect the place (door knobs chairs rails window handles counter tops bathrooms) everywhere i swiped--no dust no dirt. The upkeep on cleaning is superb! Thanks Lane, and Chaminade. Ill never forget how memorable you made our stay!Cheers!
Beautiful place! Only thing I didnt like was that whenever someones door would open or close you could hear it in your room.
This was a fun resort, very beautiful and my partner and I had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary.Would love to come back once restrictions are lifted in santa cruz :)
Stayed here for a night in Santa Cruz because my girlfriend and I wanted to take advantage of their patio dining area. Hostess was so rude to us and other guests we left without ever being seated. No one at the hotel seemed to care. A very unspectacular hotel, and that was before I dealt with the restaurant staff. We will not be back.
Great rooms and the atmosphere of the resort is much nicer than at many of the other hots in town
The view is stunning! Plenty of front row tables on the patio. Quite romantic lighting and music. Great dinner with good food. Loved mixed drinks. Service can be a bit more friendlier, she might off been just in a sad mood. Otherwise, fast and smooth experience. We sat outside with our drinks for a while, just enjoying a beautiful sunset. Lovely evening. Definitely will be back!
Parking here is horrible. They do not accommodate to their guest at all taking into account they charge you parking fees. There are no designated space for guests whom actually are staying there and ones who are there for the resturant. Its seems to be open to the public.
I was not impresed, the marketing was very leading. The main reason why I chose this place over the other places I have stayed previously in Santa Cruz, was primarly for the view. I booked a forest view and got the view of the parking lot!. The reservations was a total disaster!. Room 118 made a noise in the bathroom fan. Room 119 made a huge vibration in right outside the bathrooms. The TVS guide does not work, and you have to press the buttons on the remote in order for it to work. Overall not very relaxing, I wouldnt choose this place again, at least in the paradox if they tell me I get a pool view is what I get.I when ask if it has a patio the staff said the Junior King Suite with forest view does not have a patio.
My wife and I were looking for a place to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We were looking for a family friendly location we hadnt been to.A friend from Santa Cruz mentioned he had been to a fancy wedding at a magical resort in the hills above Soquel. We looked into Chaminade and easily decided to book.Upon our arrival we found a well layed out and attractive facility. The check in was easy and there is lots of signage and sanitizer to keep us safe.We had a sunset dinner on the patio at THE VIEW restraunt.Tomorrow we will venture out to see some of the local sites.
Beautiful views, nice rooms, friendly staff, and a fun bar in a place that was easy to find. We even saw deer come onto the property. The food was good but didnt blow me away. Some items were better than others; the cheese platter was really good, and the vanilla cheesecake was awesome. The wine selection is a little limited. This was a great venue for a corporate type of off-site.
I had a beautiful trip there during the first week of March 2019. After heading up the beautiful entrance road we found a quiet oasis near Santa Cruz without the bustle of the city. A great place to rest and relax after a busy trip around the central California coast every day. The resort is beautiful with many luxury amenities. Wish we wouldve had more time.
Positive: Beautiful location. Room faced the forest! Food was very tasty. Lovely outdoor eating areas. Negative: Dorm style old rooms. Not enough staff working. No room service. Water turned off overnight for maintenance. Noisy above us. Hard to get anyone to answer the phone.
Great stay at the Chaminade. Lived the on resort amenities including the walking trails and lawn games! Also felt they were taking every precaution to keep us safe and healthy. Cant wait to come back once there spa opens up again!
Positive: There was nothing I liked at this place. Negative: This place was way overpriced for a “motel†there was no resort feel, I felt like I was pulling into an open apartment complex. Terrible place but their marketing and pics look good.
Location location location.Up on this old land once housed santa cruz boys all school .Clean comfortable the spa feels calm and there is not to many people.
We came up here as a last resort for a family Christmas brunch. We called just about every resort in the county and were turned away due to Busy kitchens. Two people from our party are vegan and the Chaminade pulled out every stop possible for them. Along with the food at the buffet, they also made a special meal just for them. It was beyond delicious. And that was just the food. The desert was even better. My hats off to this place. Not only is it a marvelous spread, the atmosphere and location is second to none. Thank you John and Erika for the magnificent hospitality
We chose chaminade resort to celebrate our anniversary and what a let down. It appeared to be a very nice resort based off the website but for the price you may as well stay at a motel 6. the gal at the front desk was not helpful and seemed like she didnt want to work there. when we made it to our room we were surprised to see a crummy room that we over paid for. parking is a nightmare, we had to be very aggressive to secure a spot that wasnt at the bottom of the hill or a quarter mile away from the room. All day and night there were skateboarders using the area as a personal skate park right next to our vehicle. we notified chaminade about our experience and did not even receive an acknowledgment or apology..... horrible, this place is a JOKE!Update to original reviewchaminade reached out and asked us to call the general manager, i called 2 days in a row left a voice mail and sent an email with no response. they then refunded us on their resort fee of $37.00 without any response or notification. the customer service directly reflects the quality and experience of staying at this resort. we paid over $400 for a cheap hotel room and they dodge us and refund us some chump change. great job ...not
Positive: The room was nice and big Negative: The halls were dirty, trash left and nobody ever came to clean up. I went to get ice and there was this disgusting slime on the ground in front of it. The pool area was meh. Just very run down
Its in a beautiful location and has nicely decorated rooms which are like studio townhouses
So far its beautiful, quiet and relaxing.
Had a beautiful evening overlooking Monterey Bay.
Great amenities and cocktails. The steam room is great. Clean locker rooms. Would have liked complimentary shower shoes. Jacuzzi could use an update. Would recommend. Went for 2 hours only.
Chaminade is amazing. A breath of fresh air. The Sunday brunch cannot be missed..
This place needs a lot of help on preparing the rooms for guests. We had a few problems, it seems because we were not members. The only person who was completely helpful in everyway was Shane. Thank you Shane. Because of you our trip was saved.
Love the natural ️
Chaminade is a very beautiful and relaxing resort. Located in the Santa Cruz mountains, the surroundings are beautiful. Staff is very attentive, rooms are very comfortable, food is excellent, and between the spa, gym, saunas, pools, and hiking trails, there are no shortage of things to do.
I have heard many great things about this beautiful hideaway. It gives you the feeling of being up there in the trees and so close to nature, with all these fun and exciting amenities. We decided to spend a night here to unplug and unwind. I havent been to the restaurant and spa, yet. But those views are EVERYTHING. A few things need upgrading and updating. But all in all, a great place to get away and breathe after a day at the beach or the boardwalk.
Excellent Sunday breakfast buffet, nice room accommodations, and peaceful surroundings for couples or on your own
Deffently not worth what we paid for the room. We came here for the spa features and they were closed, they make u pay a extra 37 $ for resort fees and you dont even get to use what the fees are for, we have to drive thru a maze of buildings with cars on both sides on a street so narrow it should have been a one way, get to the building to find out we are on the second story and no elevator and we had to carry all our baggage up the stairs . we get to our room expecting a nice cool room and it was just as hot as it was out side witch was 90 outside and the air conditioning wouldnt turn on and when I called the front seat after 50 rings the young answers and tells me to turn it on low witch it already is and to leave the room for 30 mins witch was redicious! But we did and when we came back it was still as hot as it was and there was no difference,I called the front desk and asked to be moved and they said they couldnt, for paying almost 300 for a night at a resort with no services it was a waste of our money we could have saved the money and camped in the forest and been cooler and happier it was the worse experience and was of money I ever spent. !! Never again and wont recommend it
No microwaves in the room and if you want one they charge you 15 bucks. I didnt like that the only options for the AC/Heater was Auto or off, at night I set the temperature to a nice cool 70 degrees and every time it got below that the heater kicked on and I woke up so hot with a dry throat every night so I had to turn the air condition way down tell it was almost too cold. I didnt think the room was anything special either the nightstand was a weird metal Barrel there was a picture of a sports car steering wheel in the bathroom and over the desk hung a giant School ruler. I kind of wish I take a picture of that stuff but I did get a couple angles of the room. The room was clean and it wasnt a bad Hotel I just expected more for what they charge per room, online they make it look so luxurious I just felt like the room itself could have looked a little bit more luxurious. The pool is also kind of small and pretty average.
Id probably give this place 3.5. It was relaxing and aesthetically beautiful. However, the mens locker room was playing country music the entire time which didnt maintain the chill vibe. Also, for such an upscale place I was disappointed with the use of plastic cups and lack of herbal teas in the lobby. Youd think they could have some more environmental awareness. But the landscaping for the hot tub was really wonderful. Would come back and recommend.
Beautiful resort, built on eucalyptus mountain. Walking trails, disc golf, cornhole, horseshoes, tennis, pool, spa, and more. Comfy beds, shared patio area, nice tvs & sitting area. Parking was a little difficult, they do offer free valet. Didnt get a chance to try on-site restaurants, 2 to chose from. Overall wonderful experience!!
I really enjoyed my stay here! Although the room was utilitarian, the restaurants and grounds were wonderful! I stayed in a luxury king room that consisted of a bed and bathroom. There was a small refrigerator in the room but no microwave. The room did have a nice deck off the back though. It would have been nice if there was a divider between our deck and the others but there wasnt. The grounds were immaculate with majestic views. There is a walking/hiking trail on the property as well. The pool/spa area was nice. The volleyball court and tennis courts were nice, too.
Nice hotel very quiet, very safe
Beautiful facility at a beautiful location. I’ve been here 3x in the last few years and they’ve never disappointed. The team is always on the ball and eager to help. The food is delicious, the rooms are comfortable, and the views are spectacular. I highly recommend staying here - especially for a work conference.
Thanksgiving buffet dinner - good quality food and engaging wait team. Beautiful view of the ocean. Dining room was cold - need to do a better job on insulation / heating of the large dining area. Natural setting of the hotel is pleasing - I saw deer tracks in the volleyball court sand.
Positive: Service was great from valet to bar and check out. Loved it
Beautiful property. Efficient meeting space with good support, everything ran smoothly. Highly recommend the Ropes course with Synergy Learning Systems. Stayed ground floor in building 9; not much sound insulation to the floor above, so could hear footsteps very clearly. Otherwise very peaceful.
Great vacation place, I spend couple days super friendly staffing.
Nice place. I use the “Red” and “Blue” trails, very pretty and pleasant. However, a lot of folks seem to have their dogs off leash, despite the signage. So, if you’re sensitive to that, or if you’re planning on bringing your leashed pets, just be aware that there will probably be loose dogs here.
Nice Resort that sits on top of the ridge. Beautiful 300 acres of trails and walkways.
Had a wonderful and quiet weekend, lovely view from our balcony. Great location in town tucked away from distractions. I would recommend to a friend!
Wife and I needed a place to crash on a road trip from Los Angeles to Napa. Chaminade popped up on our radar and we booked. This place is exceptionally charming. The grounds are beautiful, naturally (being in Santa Cruz), but the forest drive to the entrance still enchants each time. The staff is as friendly as one could ask for. They directed us to an awesome pizzeria on Pacific for dinner (Pizza My Heart). This stopover in Santa Cruz itself, as well as Chaminade was random, but we’ll be returning specifically to stay here.
Amazing place! Has its own trails and the restaurants ambience is relaxing. Would highly recommend
Cool little boutique resort! Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Hoping I get the chance to come back some time for personal travel, not just work!
We go there a couple of times a year for different events. Normally its really great with great service great food and you really feel like youre taken care of. This year though it seems they need to hire more staff to get back up to speed
Excellent place, good food and wine, nice views.Quick ride to the boardwalk and beach.
Absolutely Loved this place. The only problem was we couldn’t stay longer!! Clean, Quiet, comfortable. I Loved waking up and having coffee on my patio that looked over the woods. Great Place, highly recommend.
Enjoyed our stay. Although short the room was comfortable. The staff was excellent and service great. We couldn’t take advantage of all the amenities but if in the Santa Cruz area again we’d stay there and enjoy
Such a fun and unique place. Huge grounds. No elevator that I could find.
Positive: Great fitness center. Great onsite food options. Private hiking trails.
Very cool rooms and beautiful view. I thought it was pretty expensive and I wish that came up with perks like free breakfast. Thats just my personal preference, but generally we had a good time.
Just had the absolute worst experience at the spa, after 17 faithful years as a client. Left with burns to my face and was told different stories about what products were used on me. You say you hope to get another chance to show me great customer service, but I will never return again. I gave the Spa staff the opportunity help me, and they did not. Too little, too late.
There was a construction going on, such a bummer, these things affect the whole ambiance and experience. Liked their spacious rooms and outdoors. Spa was below expectations.
Nice vistas n tree things. Continental breakfast could’ve ran a lil later.
I wouldn’t recommend this resort. The hallway leading to our room was lined with multiple room service trays and smelled like old food. The room was little dusty and not super clean. I got down a blanket for the pull out bed. It was dirty with people and dog hair. The fire pit was not working and they said you had to have a reservation for that. It was nothing like the pictures. We won’t go back!
The valet service at the Chaminade was horrible. My partner and I needed to go to the store before they closed at 10 pm. We went to valet at 9:30 pm to get our keys and were informed that they had been lost. Brandon from guest services kindly offered us a ride in his own vehicle to the store. Upon our return to the Chaminade valet had found our keys. Brandon truly went above and beyond his job duties and we greatly appreciated his generosity and dedication to customer satisfaction. It is because of him that we rate the services of Chaminade at 5 starts.
Love this place!!! Best resort in the area!! And you can bring your dog!!
Kobe beef and pulled pork sliders so good. Great view.
Hotel with big conference meeting rooms and comfortable beds.. An amazing views
Beautiful, well-run resort in the Santa Cruz hills. I was part of a wedding party, so I got a first-hand experience of how the staff handled various situations. Angela did a great job coordinating the rehearsal and the wedding. Highly recommended.
The rooms were very cute and had a nice deck with a view from each room. They have a hot tub and a nice, heated, salt water pool. I was happy with the room and the quality of the bath products (C.O. Bigalow shampoo, conditioner, body wash) that we were provided. Would stay again.
We go here for the holiday buffets, usually on x-mas every year. This year it was thanksgiving. They never disappoint. Beautiful View, great food.
Company retreat context. A little run down in superficial ways. Rooms are great, staff in general was solid. Theres like a spa or whatever.
The view from the balcony by the conference centre highlights include the ocean and the mountains. There is a relaxing pool area. It is however very convenient to highway 1 to make it easy to do nearby sightseeing
Great place for large groups to organize multi-day events. Everything was really well maintained, from the conference rooms to the hotel rooms to the pool/spa area. My only complaint is that the food was bland, but that is to be expected when preparing on this large of a scale for people with various tastes. They also did not have good snacks outside the meeting rooms for anyone allergic to nuts.
Nowhere on the website stated they were renovating and the hotel restaurateur was closed. We struggled to figure out where to eat. We picked this place so we could just stay there, dine, eat, relax and not drive anywhere once we landed. this was a one night stay and we had to be back in SJ for work and leave at 5:30 AM for workThe hot tub did not work that night until 7 pm, and the refrigerator had to b ring another one to get cold
Did not enjoy a lot of the amenity as attending conference, but a nice hotel at outskirt of the city.
Under major renovations so the experience was quite underwhelming compared to what we expected (and for the price we paid). We were only notified a week before our stay that the entire main building was closed. At time of checkout the front desk said they would comp the $37 resort amenities fee for us, however I never saw the refund come through.A week later, when I asked Lane at the front desk over the phone why I hadn’t been refunded, she argued with me about whether I deserved the refund. I was totally blown away by how unprofessional she was.
Such a great retreat location. Staff are always helpful and kind.
Recently met some friends here to celebrate a birthday. Always a pleasure to visit here for cocktails, food and the amazing view of the Monterey Bay and surrounding Santa Cruz area below. Plenty of space to sit inside on a chilly day, or outside on one the patio areas for warmer days and evenings. Great service, friendly and helpful staff.
We had a great stay at the resort. The rooms are nice and cozy, the pool and the gym were awesome. The water in the swimming pool was nice and warm. The reception was really nice helping us find a room, when our reservation was canceled by the booking website. We were a little bit disappointed by the reception not disclosing the full cost of the room ahead of time and not mentioning that taxes and resort fees were not included in the price.
Very affordably priced for the experience you get. Great views. Lots of amenities and professional staff. My family enjoyed a pleasant stay here on our way to the boardwalk. Fantastic for weekend getaways. Minutes from the beach and the mystery spot. So much to see and do in Santa Cruz. This place was lovely for relaxing and the rooms are spacious.
We had our wedding here! Angela was our coordinator and we had an absolute blast! The venue is so beautiful, our guests had an amazing night. The planning was excellent and comes with a large amount of variety to customize how you like. The food was delicious. We had our reception in the upstairs ballroom and it was the perfect size for our 100 person wedding, with plenty of room for extras like photo booths!Angela was an absolute life saver and her experience handling these events really shows in how smooth the wedding went. She did so much behind the scenes and we cannot sing enough praise for her.
Really disappointed. The room was nice and spacious but bathroom was awful and water pressure in shower not existent. The worse was poor sound proof, stayed in building 100, suite in bottom floor, noise from outside and walking from room upstairs made sleep impossible. Every time someone walked in room above it felt bed was shaking! The pool was really small and area poorly kept. Best thing about place was trail hike. In my opinion it does not deserve the 4 star rating and it is extremely overpriced. Taxes charges on top of prices published by online booking agencies are excessive!
This was a last minute stay due to a change in our original plans. Everything was excellent. Room are unique, food is was delicious and service was excellent. Highly recommend!
My husband and I got married here last July and everything was wonderful. The wedding coordinator Angela was wonderful to work with from beginning to end, clearly very knowledgeable and very patient with every little thing. The venue was beautiful and it was so nice to have an outdoor ceremony and then just walk upstairs for the indoor reception. It was also great to have all the tables, chairs, linens, tableware, etc. taken care of and not have to worry about all the set-up and take-down! The food was delicious and the service was great. There was a even a lovely woman named Shannon who kept checking in with my husband and I to make sure we had food! Overall, we were extremely happy with our choice to get married here.
Beautiful grounds and the rooms are nice.
My wife booked us a night here to get away on a weekend. At close to $500/night and a four stars rating, I was expecting a great time away. We arrived at the gorgeous, spectacular location. The valet attendants were very young kids who waved me to one place and then another before realizing that I would be driving to park where we were staying anyway. Seemed disorganized but cool that they employ kids for the Summer. We checked-in, went to a room that was fine and immediately went to the pool. The pool area is small and was crowded. There were a couple of big events(wedding, bat mitzvah) so it was understandable. A couple of encounters with people in the pool seemed off. We had brought a small beach ball for our toddler and a man and his son had taken it and were throwing it back and forth to/at each other. No biggie. When we went to leave I asked for it back. The father was weird about it and make some snarky remark. So already, not feeling four stars. I stay about twenty percent of the year on business at mostly three star hotels. We were only at the pool about forty minutes because it was dinner time. We went to leave and I realized that my prescription, titanium aviator sunglasses which were sitting on a poolside table about twenty feet away from us on the same side of the pool had been stolen. I immediately tried following-up and asking staff. They were helpful but not four star helpful. Most just sort of shrugged and acted as if they doubted what I was telling them.So the stay started on a very sour note. We went to dinner. It was buffet but a very good buffet. The wait staff and bar staff for the two meals we had were exceptional. The views from the restaurant are incredible and the wide open grass area is perfect for little children. So the place was mostly great but just never felt like other places where Ive spent as much. I related the story to a friend who grew up in Santa Cruz. Hed had his wedding reception dinner there. But he let me know that Chaminade is well known in the Santa Cruz area as being a place that locals can just go crash. So enjoy the food and views but watch your stuff!
The Chaminade is an excellent place, offering plenty of space, gorgeous views, excellent service, and good food. Breakfast is a particular treat with omelettes made to order. Additionally there are always a great selection of desserts at lunch. The bar staff were friendly and efficient, providing an excellent service. The resort is a short trip away from the town, and so access is easy and quick.
Stacey was very professional and genuinely concerned about making our experience the best. Thank you chaminade and a special shout out to Stacey!!
Beautiful grounds, staff very accommodating and wonderful food.
Beautiful grounds and facilities, nice comfortable rooms and good service. Will definitely be back.
Enjoyed this resort!!Very well keep, great staff. Steam room not large however it is the best one Ive used. Had the ribeye not the largest size, but taste was great and was enough.
