SmileyOrca Face Painting and Henna artists are super talented and friendly. Even though they have an extensive book of Face Painting AND Henna designs, I tend to be the customer that says, I like this design but with these colors...is that possible? and they always say Sure! Sometimes I leave it up to the artist to paint whatever and its neat because they take time chat with me and figure out my personality to find a design that matches me. Its a great service that adds color and sparkle to your day!

We hired smiley orca for our company celebration on Halloween, our theme was Dia de Los muertos I was in charge of event and didn’t know where to start to find a last minute face painter, I was referred to smiley orca and was hoping that they were good, since our theme required much detail I emailed and Lisa promptly returned with reply . The day of the event Lisa showed up early and I was the first to get my face painted I just gave her a brief description of what I wanted and she used her wonderful hand to do her thing when she showed me my face I was very impressed since I’m so picky and once the other staff saw they were anxious to get their faces done overall Lisa did a fabulous Job and I would highly recommend her she is reasonable and precise. Once again I’m glad we chose smiley orca for our event .

I cannot rave about the Smiley Orca family/employees enough! Not only are they insanely talented with both their face painting and henna skills, they are also incredibly nice and professional. They have very high standards, and only use the best products (especially their Henna, which looks and SMELLS great)! My daughters never miss an opportunity to stop at their booth at the Boardwalk, fair, or street festival.

My daughter has been getting her face painted by Smiley Orca Face Painting since she was a year old and she is now 9. We always look forward to their booth at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and the Monterey County Fair. The entire staff is friendly and extremely talented. My daughter has sensitive skin and we have never had an issue with the products used my Smiley Orca Face Painting. I would highly recommend visiting their booth.

Found the best face painters ever at the Boardwalk this weekend. Will be sure to go back to them every time I visit.

Went to the boardwalk today and excitedly walked up to get my face painted. There were about 6 girls just sitting there talking amongst each other. A minute or so passed by before I had to start the conversation vs. one of the 6 of them asking if they could help. Regardless, I smiled and asked if they could provide a face painting for a big girl as I am quickly approaching 30. None of them were amused by this and the short blonde in the front said, with less than an enthusiastic sure..... I then asked, due to my nerdy self, and it being July 31st, Harry Potters birthday, if I could get a outline of his glasses and a lightening bolt. The young blonde rudely responded saying no, she could only do what was in the book, when I have gotten this very same face painting, many times before. She told me if I got it in the past, that someone broke the rules and she liked to follow the rules, with a smirky tone and facial expression to match. This was ridiculous to me, to say the least, and I really didnt appreciate her tone one bit. Youd think someone who face painted for a living would have an ounce of kindness in her. I wish I got her name so I could personally thank her for her lack of hospitality and disposition. Maybe next time.

My kid was painted by a member of the smiley orca team and the face painting was OK. Definitely not the best I have seen. I was very upset to find out, however, that while smiley orca is often making $150 per hour for face painting, they are paying their painters as little as $10 per hour! That is deplorable! I would highly recommend another company that both charges less and pays their face painters more fairly.
