Great to be able to use the courtyard. Unfortunately the food offerings are limited & those present are some what average in quality. However, Front & Cooper remains consistently good.

Are you a member? Why not? Support this small amazing small museum. They have wonderful exhibitions, engaging community events, and a spectacular staff. I had my wedding here and couldnt have been happier with the outcome. Please support the MAH, its only $60 a year.

My date and I came to this event while I was visiting CA and had a total blast, granted we are total nerds. It was really interesting to see a museum at night, granted that alcohol was served so everything is better. I wish this sort of thing would happen at the museums in Boston as well. Drinks are pricey, almost similar to club prices. I would recommend coming early, like around 5 because there will be a long line and if you want to get tickets to the planetarium shows you have to get them once you enter.

Make sure you bring your student ID for the discount. Its a pretty small museum so dont expect to spend all day here. My friends and I finished looking at everything within a couple of hours. Its still an interesting place to visit though.

Perhaps following the trend of supplying people with amusement the museum is no longer a museum it is a quaint little eatery why not have the exhibits downstairs on the first floor of amongst the pethora of eating establishments and drinking I might add.

Not enough exhibits to grab younger kids attention. Small museum, what they did have on display was interesting but a lot of the things that I would have wanted to look at closer were poorly positioned either super high on the wall or inconveniently along the stairway. Still not bad for the price I just felt a little let down upon leaving.

This is the heart of Santa Cruz. So much play and interactive activities and exhibits. Its like if Santa Cruz had a Facebook but wanted people to visit it in real life, this is Santa Cruz artists and history welcoming you to their room and party (post comments on exhibits and life and share the conversation through writing and speaking and play in this museum). I always meet people here and have special moments in the galleries and the workshops.

Three-storied museum not only offers its artistic exhibitions in use of variable materials, but also allows visitor a peek to the past history in Santa Cruz. I especially enjoyed the Q and A stations that were thought-provoking. The outdoor rest area has a small garden and a bunch of interesting statues. Library card holders can get in free with the Discover and Go pass. It is a lovely museum that is worth checking out while you are in the area.

I love this museum. Dynamic, beautiful, embraces and celebrates local creators as well as celebrates out of town artists. A destination spot with a friendly, professional staff who treats everyone with respect. I should add Ive exhibited here several times & Ive always had the privilege of working with other talented, wonderful artists who truly know how to work well as a cohesive team.

Ive been going here for First Friday events and local exhibits for years. Very cute design with lounges, an elevator (with a seat!), gender neutral bathrooms, and a huge selection of food in the Abbott Square court. If you want a slice of Santa Cruz history and some entertainment while dropping into town, I highly recommend visiting, especially during events where admission is either free or part of the ticket price.

The Museum of Art & History is one of the most beautiful places I been at in Santa Cruz. It has a lot of impressive pieces of art to look at, and it even has a secret garden in the top of the building. The restaurants connected to the museum provide a good selection of food. Overall this is the perfect place to go and spend a day at.

Eclectic collections and special exhibits on three floors. We were in the neighborhood for the First Friday street events, when the MAH has free admission. There were a few interesting items on display, like the timeline of the history of this region, but I wouldnt make a trip to Santa Cruz solely to view the limited exhibits at this museum.

Usually low-cost to get in, and as a member, some stuff is free. This is a local gem in our community, bringing diverse, relevant, and entertaining events to Santa Cruz.

This is one of my new favorite museums of all time. Its a small-ish museum that does double duty as both an art and a history museum but it does it well and does it in such a way as to make it look like, say, the Getty or the Guggenheim. I really mean it. The exhibits were so skilfully selected and it was just a tremendously fun time spending the evening there and I look forward to coming again.
