The park is well built and has a nice variety of obstacles for intermediate and advanced skaters. Do not come here to learn, as there isnt much for very new skaters (try Goleta park). The reason for 4 stars over 5 is the community here makes skating here less fun, especially on weekends. The park is often crowded (because its awesome) and it may take five tries to hit a rail because people are usually in the way. Also, unlike every other park Ive ever been to, skaters here get very upset when you wax a ledge or rail. Maybe just the norms of this park, but if you wax a sticky rail, prepare to have an old man with no teeth try to fight you over it (literally no joke). Overall, if you come early or during a weekday, this park is loads of fun, but I would avoid it on weekends and peak hours.

This is the perfect location for a skate park. The weather is perfect here and there are all types of skaters at this park. You have rollerbladers, skate boarders, scooters, etc. Everyone gets along.

I just started coming here to skate again and it hasnt changed much. Its great; I do recommend coming around morning if you can before a lot more people come. The parking lot was closed today as well, not sure how long it will be.

This is such a great park. So many different lines to ride. Plus the bowls are so smooth.

Dear city of sb: please make this park legal for bmx as well. It is a pointless regulation. The nearest skatepark, that allows bikes is a bit over 3 hours away and not an easy place to stay at for the day, which is annoying if the drive time is so long...

Amazing park all around. It would help to have a decent bag of tricks to make it more fun overall, but beginners will have a good time learning here. Most riders here are more advanced, so if you’re looking for a place for your kid to learn to skate, I’d recommend the other smaller park in Goleta by the car dealerships. The only reason why I’d put it at four stars is because of the drug problem. People seem to constantly do and buy drugs at this park. Other than that, this is an amazing park for the more advanced rider.

Clean. Safe. Not filled with bullies.I love this park! I love the city for giving the kids a legitimate and safe place to skate. There should be more of these parks. We often question or criticize the generation born after our own. And thats okay because it is what our previous generations have taught us to do. But this is also key to the problems or issues we vocalize about young people. We expect. We expect. We expect. While we give so little. Sure, we give birth (speaking for myself) but we forget that we are not just parents, we should be mentors, listeners and leaders. If every block has a dive bar for me to relax in, then why should we invest less into the future? A simple skate park on every block makes more sense than a liquor store. I know I sound like an unrealistic dreaming hippie but Im glad I do. Its the small things that make the most positive changes.

My kids wanted to try this skatepark while scootering by. Im so glad they did! I doubt this is always the case on a Sunday afternoon, but the park wasnt too busy so it totally felt comfortable for my kids to try the ramps and just watch the older kids do tricks on the rails and pipes.

Update: After skating here for just over a year I am upgrading this to a 4 star rating. This park is pretty epic. I wish it had a smaller flat bar rail and a mini half pipe to try new stuff on. But other than that this place is great for progression, even for old guys like me.Pros-Good concreteGood transitionsMaintained wellMellow in the morningGood vibesBowl is funSomething for everyoneIts on the beachCute girls going for jogs on the strandCons-Little kids that should be learning basics on the strand or parking lot and parents that need to go to Braille channel to teach their kids.Oblivious parents sitting in chairs IN THE PARK or sitting right on the ledge you where actively trying to session.People tend to hang out there, but they dont skate or scooter.Gets crowded

Fun skaters park. I dont skate board. It I did hang around for about 30 mins and watched everyone else. It looked like a lot of fun and it was super crowded. My mom would have had a heart attack watching all of the kids skating without helmets and giant bubble suits to protect them. Fun for a 15-30 mins visit to just people watch and observe.
