We had the chicken nachos which were good but some of the chips were a bit salty at bottom. Chicken taquitos were delicious and so was my guava goose drink and the strawberry daiquiri. The chips alone were seasoned too much BUT the salsa (red and green) were so good! The customer service was great! Next time Im here Ill try something different off the menu.

I would return when Im in for cocktails. My chicken enchiladas were standard fare microwaved mexican, but perfect chips and salsa, expert mojitos, and cool vibe. Staff was very friendly and attentive with zero attitude.

Definitely the spot you want to end your night at. Complimentary chips and salsa are bomb. Nacho are very tasty. Loved the atmosphere and the ambiance.

This place has now completely moved to outdoors during this pandemic. their seating area is super cute. Still has high quality service. The food is amazing, very generous. The drinks were also delicious. If youre craving a good Mexican plate, this is your spot.

The food is great and the service is always a hit or miss. The food is not the most authentic but still close enough. The portions are big and most come with these sides. The prices are reasonable, around 12 to 15 a plate. I come here often and i either have great service where the server is attentive with great attitude even during busy times. Or i have a mediocre server that hardly checks in even during slow times. The drinks are always good though, you cant go wrong with most of the large selection they have.

I celebrated my PhD yesterday in this excellent restaurant. happy to tell that we had a brilliant evening and the restaurant was surely one of the reasons for that happy event. The crew helped in a sweet manner, the cooking was extremely good and my friends were so happy. We shall no dout come back again for more events. thanks very much.

One of my top locations for quality Mexican food. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. I think I might become a regular. Prices are decent for the quality.

Good quesadilla, STUNNING bathroom. Tortilla chips where way too salty, and should be an option to order season-less chips. Other than that the service was good.

Margaritas are really good here (the reposado tequila is better than the blanco imo) and the tomatillo sauces are amazing (one with avocado, one without). We didnt order any of the main dishes, but the appetizers are on point! Highly recommend

The Sandbar is our go-to place in Santa Barbara! The atmosphere, the fantastic food, the margaritas and the customer service are memorable and noteworthy. I posted a picture on Facebook several years ago and a friend said is that the Sandbar? Its my favorite place in Santa Barbara. Enough said...go there.

Sandbar is the best. Premium service at a pristine location. So many friendly faces here, I love the atmosphere. The drinks here are absolutely fantastic. Please stay open!

Our food was amazing! We had the Taqueria tacos carne. The tortillas are hand made & super thick. Delicious. I also had a Chile Relleno ala carte. It was huge! Crunchy exterior with a small drizzle of ranchera sauce. One of the best rellenos Ive ever had. The patio was perfect & the decor is great. I will for sure be back.

Some of the most flavorful chips Ive ever had at a Mexican restaurant and salsa that you just want to drink its so good. Food presentation was great. I had the crispy fish tacos. They were good but could use a touch of something to bring out the flavors more, maybe a little salt or a squeeze of lime.We tried two different spicy margaritas. Delicious flavors with the right amount of spice, but extremely WEAK in alcohol content. To be honest, I question if there was actually any Tequila present. I say this only because I drank on a completely empty stomach and am a bit sensitive to effects of Tequila. Hmm... Ill definitely try again on a future visit.

Very lively and nice atmosphere, the music doesnt really match the theme though. If you are seated more towards the inside, there are lots of sports TVs. Booths available.Outside heating lamps are always a plus, and one little Fire pit. Most of the seating are pretty comfortable.Food: Ive had most of the tacos there and the fajitas are fire (little on the greasy side). The tequitos we ordered as an appetizer, were extremely dry. Ive never had a fish burrito and tried it here and loved it, very filling about the size of a Chipotle burrito. Some evenings Ive went to sand bar, Ive noticed they can be very generous with always supplying my table with salsa and fresh chips but other times when they are busy they sometimes lack the effort.Drinks: The skinny margaritas were good as well but more weak in terms of tequila content compared to the standard margarita. The drinks could be stronger, but thats a personal preference. Id say overall the services is usually pretty good, but definitely room for improvement.

The service, food, drinks are impeccable impressive. I have been travelling around America and the sand bar is the best service I’ve had in America.

Quick service, great environment, friendly crowd and good music. I watched the band while my friends grabbed a quick drink. Loved it and didn’t feel bored. Got a cranberry and ginger ale without and weird looks either! Bathrooms were good and the TVs has really interesting content too.

Worst fajitas. Shrimps and veggies were undercooked and with little taste. Tortillas were probably flour and were average. The house margarita was lemonade, no tequila.

One of the best spots in Santa Barbara plus they have the Dodgers game which is about the only place in SB that shows it. Great drink menu and food was wonderful!!

Im sorry but this place has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I came here twice and WOW JUST HORRIBLE! My first experience we waited 45 minutes just to get the servers attention and ask us for our drink orders..so immediately when the server came we asked for the drinks appetizers and our meal after our order the server apparently ended his shift and i We waited again for another hour. The SECOND TIME. We waited 20 min for water and once we got it the cups were DIRTY and NO STRAW...(Covid-19 we need straws) social distancing where? 30 min later we ordered drinks.. i went to the bar 20 min later to find out our drinks weren’t even placed!!! We LEFT! NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN.

Ate here twice both times they were SUPER SLOW however their food was delicious I ordered tacos the first time their waiters seem to not have a system no one knew their locations the second time our server was super rude and short with us and had no personality normally personality isn’t a factor at a restraint but when I waited 20 mins to take my drink order you should have a better attitude.

I went to this bar over the past weekend. today i find they charged me double. Maybe this is simple mistake but you take my cash and then still charge my card for the full balance - unacceptable. contacting my bank and will never visit here again

Good, large, semi-open-air-patio daytime spot for food and drinks. Nighttime crowd isnt for everyone, but is lively, and frequently features local music acts.

Tried the Jalisco shrimp quesadilla and the mahi burger . Both tasted good. The portions are quite large. The restaurant seems to be popular and was packed on a Saturday night.

Nice place. Accepts pets. Ordered a meat dish which was extremely chewy and just couldnt eat it. The waitress was kind enough to let me change to tacos, which was much better even though the pork was still a little hard. The sangria was the weirdest tasting sangria ever, barely had any alcohol in it. Very nice waiters though, cant fault them. Got free tortillas and salsa while waiting for our main course. Pity... had high hopes for the place and really wanted to have a nice hearty meal on Christmas day but hey...it is what it is.

An excellent watermelon margherita, and some of the best shrimp tacos I have ever eaten await you at this festive Mexican eatery in Downtown Santa Barbara. For the area it is in, the price is definitely fair and worth it for what youre getting. Be sure to ask for the special hot sauce they keep in the back, it added a whole new level of flavor to my tacos. Will definitely be back here again for lunch.

I love there chicken tinga tostadas. Sometimes they dont come out as good, possibly the cook is different. So now I am afraid of ordering it. But still overall love this place.

Sandbar was amazing and our server, Lucia, was so wonderful and accommodating. My parents and a group of my friends spent the day exploring Santa Barbara and we decided to stop at Sandbar. They were able to seat all 8 of us around the fire and we had the BEST time. I highly recommend the supreme burrito with steak. So good!!! A huge mimosa for only $6 dlls during foot ball game, and 3 handmade corn tortillas fish tacos for $11 bucks in a very cute restaurant on state st. Where to park is the only problem.

This place in Santa Barbara is very lively and the food is bursting with flavor. The asada and chicken tacos are awesome. Perfect with a nice cold beer and sports on all the TVs.

Margarita was great, bit small for the Happy Hour Special for $5, guess thats common around here. Ordered chicken enchilada and chicken soft taco, food was rather small and was a bit cold. Atmosphere was great, too bad our group missed out on some live show though. I would still recommend Sandbar, just don’t have high hopes for the place. Staff was super friendly and did a great job waitering.

My husband and he came here 3 years ago during our honeymoon and now we are back again for my birthday drive from Newport Beach, brings back memories. Great place for food and drinks. Will be back another time to celebrate a different occasion.
