Its a good course to play, fair and open. Par 70 and not too tricky. Good course to walk and get some exercise. Some fairways are rough, while some are just fine. Elevated greens are not challenging, if you play conservatively. Fortune favors long hitters. If not, playing safely is a good strategy. The only ding about this course is the unannounced increase in price, because of newly purchased carts. Im sure theyre great carts, but walkers shouldve been notified (especially if the price was confirmed at the time of reservation). The management did accommodate us in the end. So that worked out fine. Nevertheless, its a fun course to play.
I played Riverview for many years and I must say its in the best condition Ive seen it. They even have new golf carts!
Great greens... fairways are just ok. Usually able to get out as a single fast. Awesome 18 hole practice putting green. Fun for the whole family.
I enjoyed the exhilarating player on the fairway, and each hole seemed to be enchanted in various ways. However, I think it is a golf course that I definitely want to come back to because I can enjoy the exciting play until 18 holes.Thank You~~
Had a great time out at River View. The golf course is challenging and fun. Lots of interesting holes that really test your golf skill. Beware of the river. The greens were in excellent shape. The fairways were pretty decent as well. Overall had a good time playing for a very good price.
Good greens were good its a challenging course for your short game and long game.
Fun and unique challenges on the course, which straddles the Santa Ana River. Sometimes plays slow, but i usually have a great time anyway.
Use the driving range frequently...good price on range balls especially if you buy a range card.. definitely recommend.
On a scale of 1. To. 10. Its a 3,Greens good,
This is a great and challenging course! The friendly staff was awesome and helped us get a last minute tee time. The course was in great shape and the greens were in top notch. Would highly recommend it.
Great course. They got the best staff very professional.
Tough course, if you are not a long hitter.
Interesting course is how Id describe it. There were a few holes where I wasnt sure where to hit it towards or if I would hit someone or something with my shot which caused me to lay up on a lot of the holes. Pace of play wise, it was pretty fast. I played as a single on a Sunday afternoon and I tend to play fast, but the groups in front of me let me play through every time which was nice. I think I finished in 2 hours or thereabouts which is phenomenal when some courses Ive played are 2 hours just for the front 9.
The course is challenging and Ill love to come back. But being treated poorly and look down on by a staff member isnt the way I plan on spending my Sunday there ever again. The staff working in the clubhouse was very helpful. Thank you for calming your co worker down and clearing things up.
Course in good shape. Greens are excellent!
Nice putting greens with about 22 holes. Greens were superb! Driving range is very sufficient. Med bucket of range ball special gets you lunch and a drink for about $2 extra! Cheeseburger was hot and tasty! Super deal! Didnt get a chance to play the course.
Excellent had lots of fun
Terrible course and terrible experience. Course is very badly mantained, sometimes you feel like youre playing in a garage dump!
This course is FUNKY...and I LOVE it.In a world of flat and straightforward courses in this area its really nice to play a course that has its own character and a flair all its own.Dont get me wrong some portions were unplayable during our round (In December) due to the recent rains, but that didnt bother me at all. I was genuinely facinated on where the course would take us next. You cross the river a good 7-8 times including on both sides of the road. It was like going on a golf exhibition into the unknown. In addition the greens are a true delight and the people running the joint are very nice. From what I saw of the practice facility it looks top notch. Overall a wonderful place, highly recommended!
I like River View Golf Course. Good price. Fun track. Its got a unique layout to the course too. Some crazy doglegs with a big hill to hit after the lay-up shot...Ive played here a # of times & first time or two, the wait on each hole was a bit much but this last time, on a Satrdy morning, we played through smoothly the entire time.Greens were in good shape. Fairways too. Good price. Fun to play. Id recommend trying it out for sure.
My home course, and one of the hardest.
Good course, no complaints honestly.
Little rough around the edges, overall, nice place to play, good pace of play. The staff was awesome. Marshall roaming the course, very nice.
Its a nice, no-frills local course. A good place to play a round or hit a bucket for a reasonable price.
Greens are in great shape. Hard to read.
Lots of fun. Tight.
Played after the torrential downpour, staff was amazing! They had bridges up and course was fully open before 11.great job grounds crew.
Nice little course. They have an 18 hole putting green that you can spend hours on. Well worth the visit.
Great greens!
They do a good job with the property the have. Hit it to targets as you go back and forth across the riverbed. Pick lines and you will be fine.
The only useful part of this course is their putting green.
A nice little course. Short, but you have to be able to shape the ball to score.
Friendly staff and competitive pricing. It’s not an easy course or hard somewhere in between. But it will definitely kick your butt if you’re not trying too much. Overall great course. Book online for better prices.
Pro shop closes at random times, 3rd time arriving after 5pm and couldnt use the driving range.. fairways poorly maintained. Was fine before they raised prices.
Good course for a quick round. Reserve a tee time on their website for discounted round.
Booked a tee off for 630am talk to pro shop the day before and the morning of tee off and was not informed we were playing the short course, back nine flooded out, would have played somewhere else.Very hard to find the next hole i was informed it was well marked, it was not!We were told it was not busy, and we would be able to come back and play one again to get in 18 holes, got to the first hole, and three groups were waiting on the tee box, only got to play nine holes for 29 dollars not worth 10 dollars.
My home course, we got a 3 1/2 hour round today, one of our quickest, the course is in great shape, prices very reasonable, and we had lunch afterwards at their restaurant with great specials, a good day all the way around!!!!
Great 18 hole putting green! Great staff and kids program too.
Fun course good shape
Excellent driving range, and practice putting green. Excellent cafe with great food and excellent service and staff. The tuna is made fresh daily whether its for a tuna melt, salad or a sandwich.Tight course, excellent greens throughout the course. Relating to play late in the day .
A left handers dream. The river is always to your right on every green. I did have a lot of fun on the course though. We came on a Friday and never felt rushed by people waiting behind us. Fairly well maintained and the price was reasonable. All in all a good course for being in the middle of the city.
Like this course alot for easy walk on the times. Great putting green which I frequently practice on during my lunches but its just freshly aerated and sanded. Will head back in a week or two.
Fun place to play golf. Challenging course.
Used to play here lots of times. Just stopped by to reminisce about the old days. Still looked the same quite out of the way. Had lots of memories here with high school friends. Never very good but thats not the point. Might try again just need a sponsor. $$$
Very fun course, unlike any I have played before. Elevated greens and tees, fairways lower elevation on most holes. Play crisscrossing over riverbed. Greens were in great shape, fairways just OK, but with drought to be expected. Play was relatively quick, finished in under 4 hrs on Sunday. Will definitely play again if in the area.
Good practice facility for ball striking and putting. No bunker or chipping area. Reasonably priced
A nice place close to home.
Decent local golf course. Green are in great shape...fairways...well...could be better. This is the course either you really like or hate it. Not much scenery to look at beside the well-dried water way that used to be in middle on the 2 sides; it is now just a large sand bunker...it should consider changing its name to perhaps ... sandview bunkerview...maybe
Very nice driving range. Just about the best greens of any course in Orange County. Small, cozy restsurant/snack bar. Excellent burgers and breakfasts.
For a public course it is a bit difficult but great to play
Great fun especially for the price. Greens are always beautiful. Fairways are growing back now after the winter rains, some are still sandy. I personally love the elevation challenges the river presents, but it may be too much for those used to flat courses. People are friendly and the snack bar makes a great grilled chicken sandwich with grilled onions. Check out the putting practice area, 18 holes there too.
It looks like people are enjoying while theyre golfing and one day I would love to be able to learn golf
Tite
Great golf course with lots to offer. Fun layout, reasonable rates. We had a great time.
Always a good time at this course, great greens
Price is Right. Beer prices are extremely good.
Nice course to play a round at !
Super quick for a Sunday morning. Greens are very good, a tad thick, but well maintained. Fairways are a little rough, but an overall worthwhile place for sure!
Interesting course so long as there is water in the river...dry riverbed makes the course not that much fun. It has a great practice putting green and above average range.
Almost perfect greens!
A great place to golf that is a local gem for those looking to improve their game. Nestled in the heart of Orange County, it’s close to where ever you are at a great price!
Play there three times a month, nice course, beautiful greens, challenging, excellent practice putting greens, real grass, flawless
Such a great course
Great experience with the boys. Nice place.
Great service, nice mats at the driving range. Friendly staff and great rates!
Hands down the best practices putting Green in southern California. So well kept. This is the best but I think people dont let it be known, so people dont come and stomp the poopoo out of it. Well cats out if the bag now.
I played here last week for the first time and loved it. The greens were slow but considering the price ($28 during week) you cant beat it. Theres a ton of Par 5s too. Definitely will be back
Good place to golf, plus the price is reasonable - lower than most places. Course was better than I expected.
Love this course for the money. Pace of play is generally pretty fast.
This golf course has been around a long time. There are some challenging holes. Rent the cart, you dont want to walk this course. Good course for the money. Seems to be in better shape than it was in years past.
Nice driving range and very cool 18 hole practice putting course. The course itself is somewhat unusual in that its built over the Santa Ana Riverbed. Lots of uphill/downhill tee shots. Greens were typical of a municipal course . . . only fair condition with lots of un-repaired ball marks. Come on people . . . fill your divots in the fairways and repair your ball marks on the greens.
Greens are good, but most of the holes have been washed out.
Good condition golf course. They moved the tee box unlike other golf courses, where you would have to find a place with no divot
This is a challenging course!!! Customer service is very good... I dont understand all the bad reviews. I will play here every chance I get... The most affordable place in OC worth playing.
Only been to their driving range but it was worth the drive and the the price is right. The people who work their all friendly to me and my friened. We had a fun time.
Reasonably priced and great greens.
The guys in the pro shop are great! fun course to walk, not long but it is tight on most holes - target golf. Ill be back soon
This is not a bad review.. great price (45$ with Cart on Father’s Day Sunday) this course was a lot of fun. At certain spots on the course it feels like you’re golfing on mad max’s post apocalyptic land or a urban set video game and I thought it was great. Definitely challenging and not a course for beginners. The greens were in great shape, and the fairways were in good condition. The elevations had me pulling clubs out that I havnt needed to use on 5 years, can’t believe I was able to use a flop shop haha. And the staff is friendly, everyone has decent golf etiquette. If you can master this course, the surrounding OC GC’s are a breeze. This will be my practice course so I can spank my father in law when we play at Meadowlark. Overall, I plan to make this my homecourse based on challenge, price, friendliness, pace and green condition
Best practice putting green in all of California for free you can bring your wifes children grandparents and have a great day
Good driving range and great practice putting green.
Great course.Golf coach is #1!
Great driving range and one of the best practices putting greens I know of.
This really is a fun course! The greens are maintained very well. My buddies and I golf the course at least twice a month. They also have the best putting green Ive ever seen which includes a 18 hole putting course which is a blast. Great service and freindly staff makes the experience so enjoyable that we make a 20 minute trip there about two times a week to just hit balls and put. On Fridays @ 4pm and Sundays @12pm the local high school golf team hosts 1 hour golf lessons for $10 (plus the cost of balls which is purchased seperately).
Course is fine, but tee time management is awful. Had a tee time set for 9am on a Friday morning and there were 3 other 4-somes with the same tee time. We teed off 20 minutes past our tee time and were waiting on every shot. Before we teed off we tried to get a refund but the manager refused in a rude manner. This is the first AND LAST time I will golf here due to the atrocious management and customer service. Their management/manager needs to be retrained.
This is a fun course. No, this is not a challenging course with all the fancy frills that some OC golfers might be missing from the $100+ courses in the area. To these entitled golfers, heres a suggestion: keep playing your over-priced glory courses and quit taking tee times from people who might truly appreciate killer greens, long ball holes and an occasional hazard to avoid. If you want to have a good time and save a couple bucks, there is no better course in the OC than Riverview. DO NOT listen to the reviews from haters apparently slumming in our hood. This place rocks- you will not be disappointed.
Nice place to work on your game. One highlight is the 18 hole putting course, its fun and challenging.
A quiet very well maintained coarse
Green wasnt in the best condition and location was sketchy but great course for beginners like me
No, good!!
Very cheap for golfing, it is great, but confusing sometimes
Fairways are real rough in the river did a lot of damage during the storms
The course needs a marshall. Was way too slow. We caught up with a group un front of us and when we got yo thr first par 3 there was 3 groups on the tee box
The condition of the field was terrible.
Great little short course you cant beat for the price.
