We went to the opening night of Oliver and I had a blast! It was my first visit and I loved every second! The acting, singing and even accents were spot on. I wish I had tickets to go again. I definitely will be back. The quality of the production speaks for itself. It was the best version of Oliver Ive seen.

The Temple Theater is small but has a big heart! They take their productions seriously. They always do a great job of making the best of their small stage with great sets. I was there for the Christmas Basement Ladies production, Away in a Basement. I dont think it is the best play Ive seen there but it was entertaining in a homey, corny way. I am looking forward to see what they do with MaMa Mia.

Amazing theater experiences without big city crowds, parking hassles or expensive tickets. The incredible staff here has the contacts to bring in wonderfully talented performers and to produce big theater shows all on this theaters small stage. The staff also is instrumental in local events, special guest shows and programs for aspiring young performers called Temple Teens. A wonderful night out with family or friends...or matinee performances too.

Great little local theatre! Don’t miss a show

My daughter was in a play at Temple Theatre when she was in 5th grade. She did great . It was a Christmas show and she had to go to rehearsal everyday early throughout to the evening. She did great and one of the guys she worked with was a high schooler and he was funny and great at acting . My daughter is 31 now. So long ago.

I saw the play Oliver and it was awesome. I dont usually like musicals but this one was the one to see. I give it two thumbs up.

We saw the Charles Dickens reading of A Christmas Carol and it was amazing.The theater is intimate, but large enough for a good sized audience. The seats are comfortable, but not much leg room for tall people. I suggest taking a wrap, because it can be chilly inside during the winter months.

Love this delightfully remodeled old theater.it is 2 floors and has main floor and balcony seating. It is home to our regional theater that produce quality productions that draw crowds from all parts of our area. Each year there are 6 productions that vary from musicals, seasonal plays or comedies. Staff is dedicated and friendly and volunteers assist during shows. Tickets are well worth the price and can be purchased in person, online or by phone. They offer matinees or evening shows.

The Temple Theater has been a wonderful experience my wife and I. We have been attending their fantastic shows for four years. Their performances are always enjoyable, and often leave us laughing for days and singing songs from some of the musicals. Two of the primary reasons for the Temple Theaters success are 1) that the artistic director, Peggy Taphorn, is a very gifted person, and always brings in the most talented actors. & 2) the theater itself offers an intimate environment with excellent acoustics and comfortable seating, as well as the fact that almost every seat offers a wonderful view. In short, treat yourself and your family too a performance at the Temple Theater.

I always have a blast at Temple Theatre. Whether attending a show or performing in one, its been a great experience each time. Peggy Taphorn runs a tight ship, and it pays off with the high caliber performances, show after show. Sanford is blessed to have such a great venue.

Just witnessed a magnificent production of Hamlet. The performers were wonderful, and it was a huge turnout. Cant wait to attend the outside performance at the Depot Park. The experience of art and theatre is a must as it establishes culture within all. Job well done!

Temple Theater performed well both on stage and in all areas off stage. The box office staff, concessions staff, the greeter were all so welcoming and personable that I felt very special. The performers were extremely talented and the whole experience was memorable. Even the bathrooms are top notch! They partnered with a local chocolatier to give out a free treat and had artisinal works displayed by the local guild that were germaine to the performance. Great place to spend a night out!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Peggy Taphorn has turned this theater into the diamond of Sanford! The talent comes from local as well as from New York. Much better than larger theaters. It is a MUST SEE when visiting this historical gem!

Real cute little theatre! I saw The Sound of Music many years ago and was very impressed!Dracula could have been a little better, but it was still good.We saw The Little Mermaid this weekend and it was great. The girl who played Ariel did a fantastic job. Honestly, I think she was the best character.We really enjoyed this production!

My wife and i regularly attended the Barter Theater in Abingdon Va for decades and this set a high bar to evaluate regional Theater.The Temple Theater and its production staff reflect an equally high standard of performance both in musical and dramatic offerings.May they flourish and nurture our theatrical delights.They deserve and need the support of all who attend their offerings.
