ArboretumThe Arboretum is a wonderful place. It is filled with tons of plants; it is a very nice place and great for learning about plants. It is located a by Lakeview Park Sandpoint, IDThe trail starts off with a map and a nice wood chipped trail about 1’ wide. It lists all different kinds of plants including medicinal plants and trees. Farther into the trail there is some pavement that would be better for wheelchairs and bikes. There is no rule that I know of, but you should not ride an ATV through the trail because it would not fit.The trail is right by a baseball field and a park. In the park, there is a playground, caboose, and a museum. The museum has bathrooms. The trail is mostly quiet. There is a sewage plant right next to the trail, so some places smell like sewage. There are two entrances. One by the road, and one by the caboose. The best time of year to hike the trail is probably summer because all the plants will have grown, and it will be warm. The trail itself is short and takes about 10-20 minutes to walk.There are benches and water fountains along the way, no dangerous animals and no poisonous plants. It is dog friendly and has doggie bags. There is no camping areas and no fires allowed. There are many different types of trees here are a few: Red Grand ford, Grand fir, and Cedar. The surrounding area is mostly trees, plants and grass. It is a very shaded area and has some cameras in places. There are trash cans along the trail. There are signs that tell the names of plants and trees.The arboretum has a lot of plants and is a very interesting place to learn and come together. It is a very nice trail that has everything you need for a nice walk and it is fun to walk through.
