My family had an amazing time at CuriOdyssey! Please support this amazing local institution. The Halloween experience was amazing even with social distancing at play. There was a laser light setup, pumpkins, and activities for kids and a reasonably priced gift shop. There was also a cash bar for the parents so everyone could have a relaxing evening . Everyone should support this great local business.
Only the outside is open to see the animals, inside is still closed because of Covid, but still a lot of fun to get your kids out the house and you always learn something new. Also there’s like a six dollar fee to go into the premises the bonus is that there’s a couple of fun parks nearby you can take advantage of.
Underwhelming. People will spend more time getting there or waiting in line than they will experiencing the place. They have a few pens/enclosures for some of their larger animals (bobcats, otters, etc) and a couple separated cages. They then have a hallway of smaller animals like reptiles and a couple aviary spots. Thats pretty much it. Takes about 20minutes to see everything. There are a ton of illusion boards for people to look at but almost nobody is looking at them.We went during COVID times. They are handling that with questions and distancing and appointments and 1-way walkways. Possibly some stuff shut down due to that, looks like a large portion of the museum was closed off.Considering you have to pay for parking and entrance fees, it was a bit pricey for what you get to see. Better off waiting for a real zoo.Maybe we got unlucky, but most of the animals were asleep. Again underwhelming.
Quick and COVID friendly. Great place to take young kids
You just purchase your tickets online and pick a time to go. You are given 1.5 hours to look at everything ( time slots are 2 hours apart) so Im assuming they need some time to clean up for the next group. They have markers on the floor to distance people coming in when you check in. They also have arrows throughout the place so everyone goes one way. Right now they have the illusion exhibit outdoors, on both sides as you walk and see the animals. It took us a out 30 minutes to see everything. If you choose to, you can loop again to see everything again or you can go to the gift shop ( one family in the store at a time, up to 6 family members) or you can exit through the back. There were hand sanitizer stations throughout the place and everyone who worked there wore a mask. Also, masks are required the entire time you are there. My 3 yr. old really enjoyed her time there! It was a cute little trip with the family.
Great little zoo. We went there twice. Once during the regular hours and once during their Halloween nighttime special. Both were really fun. The Halloween night was super fun and really magical (GFs word for it).
Reserved my tickets for same day and spent roughly an hour there. Obviously due to the outbreak all the hands on exhibits were off limits but they added fun optical illusions to add to the experience. Picked up a few pumpkins for a small donation to the museum. Perfect for little ones since outdoor activities are limited.
It is a great place to take your kids to learn about nature. Pack a lunch and have a picnic on the back side as it has many picnic tables and the best views looking out at San Francisco and the Oakland @rea. Also bring binoculars as it has great birding down by the sea shore.
This was a fantastic outing for our family with three kiddos under ten. They have done a very nice job of making the facilities accessible and comfortable during these crazy Covid times, whole still keeping it safe. To see my kids smile outdoors? Great time!
Its very nice for a family outing. The views and hiking trails are very nice and the beach area is also breathtaking!
Our daughter loves owls and this place has 4 different species! She loves visiting. We *had* to get the membership. Its well worth it if you visit as much as we do. They have a good mix of animals and a science area…enough to keep the toddler through grade school crowd entertained for sure. My husband and I like it too!
My five stars are for the scenic beauty of this place. The view around this place is simply superb!
I love how its on the coast and you can see the Bay right at the exit and entrance. The otter is so cute and fun to watch!
This is a fun spot for kids during pandemic. Everyone is required to wear masks. Animal masks are available for sale. There are limited number of visitors permitted at any given time. There are a dozen animals that are especially interesting for kids, including bob cats, river otter, raccoon, gray fox, porcupine, ferrets, owl, snakes, eagle, vulture, frogs, and tortoises.
Love this cute compact museum packed with scientific plays and animals. Kids across all ages can easily spend hours here. Also a great place for outdoor during warmer weather. It is the reason a family wants to move to CA. :)
It was okay not fun for kids during these times of the supposed virus. Wish there were more animals. My kids got bored not worth the hour and a half drive. we drove more time getting there than in the actual park. Not to mention the pricey parking fee plus admission meh
Amazing place to bring your kids or pretend like youre a kid again. Since its in the heart of Coyote Point park its a great event to do with a family picnic and beach day. They have a Friday concert series thats worth checking out. Animal feedings are one of the things to try to catch while youre there, check the times before going if you can. #animals #science #waterfront #kids #kidsagain
First time here and WOW. Location awesome, the views are incredible....but let me share how amazing it is inside...hands on experience in everything STEAM for both kids and adults, mix that with a ZOO where each animal, bird or reptile has a story and youve hit the Jackpot. Membership for a family is $125 with $105 being tax deductible, giving many other doscounts even to SF and Oakland Zoo...yah money well spent for sure. We all loved it, hubby, myself and our little one was totally in love with everything. We are definitely going back and taking advantage of the park and hike all the way up to the museum then back down. Super close to the 101 Freeway this is for sure on of the 5 fave spots in our area. Below are pictures of the view from just outside CuriOdyssey.
Wonderful place. Support STEM education!
Great little museum with science stuff for the kids to play with and animals to see. Currently running an exhibit in the main hall with tons of cool lighting and little colored LED lanterns for the kids to carry in the dark.
Wonderful memories as youth and overall great place for kids to learn about local habitat and wildlife as well as location (Coyote Point).
Amazing location and the place this time normal cold and good view of the sea
Great place to take the kids, it’s a mini exploratorium and zoo. It’s a bit pricey for adults but they tend to give vouchers if you come just before they close. Kids definitely seem to love it there, they track the animals as they grow up. Awesome hiking trails in the park and a beautiful view of the bay for a brief walk, not to far from CuriOdyssey! Highly recommend
Ive been here twice with a field trip and both times loved what they had to offer. The science playground was really cool and the 4th and 5th graders were engaged the entire time. They only wished we had more time to play and explore on our visit! The burrowing owls were my favorite! Theyre so cute!
Really loved this kid friendly interactive experience. Great for all ages, but highly recommended for kids under 8. I had a great time with my 11 year old.
Animals were very active and friendly (coming right up to the glass to get a closer look at us) when we went. We love the combination of zoo and science museum. It has a bit of everything for the whole family. We loved it and cant wait to go back again! Pro tip: if you have a zoo or aquarium membership somewhere else, you may be able to get a discount or free admission when you show the membership card and your ID ;-)
Attended a birthday party here. Was so much fun that we ended up buying a membership. Great place to pass time with your kids while learning and playing.
Great small kiddie tourist spot.
Event held at CuriOdyssey! Lovely space!Simple Joie Photography
This is the first time Ive been here in a long time, and theyve changed, I think. They have interactive exhibits, as well as the little zoo. Be sure and walk around outside to look at the harbor and bay views, as well as seeing the planes flying overhead as they get ready to land at SFO.
A fantastic place to take your 2-10 year old! So many stations to explore. Bonus if your kid is patient enough for you to read about each item. Haha.
Love the science exhibits and the animals. My daughter can stay here all day. She loves this place so much we renewed our membership.
Very fun for kids and adults. A great mix of exploring and animals. Really fun!
Very cute place. It’s like a science place/mini zoo. Indoor and outdoor area. Hand sanitizer everywhere. The location is beautiful too, Coyote Point. We took our time in the museum and that took like an hour and a half. We had a picnic after, outside the museum, theres abundant picnic tables, bbq pits, a bathroom and a playground. A perfect place for our 2 year old. We also had a birthday party here like 8 years ago, the entire hall is made of redwood, very nice.
The environment is clean. Kids will like it
Affordable. Fun. Interactive. I was actually surprised by how successful this small shop learning experience was, and how great of a time my toddler had here. There are science-y amusements that please children of ages up to teenager with tons of interactivity. We went on a Saturday during the winter so I am sure there are even busier days. The animals are not exotic zoo animals but instead they are domesticated urban animals. Each of them has a fairly interesting story that I hope other visitors also appreciate.
CuriOdyssey has dozens of indoor science exhibits to engage kids and a delightful outdoor zoo. Make sure you dont miss the astoundingly playful river otters and the various shows and feedings throughout the day. Theyre typically every hour. I take my kids there every month or two and they both absolutely love every moment!
Nice science and animal exhibits. Facilities need to be upgraded lots of unused space to make for an even better experience
Great place for kids of all ages. Perfect place to kill a few hours! Holiday time has a really cool light based area that our daughter loved.
Real Nice Relaxing Area to Watch The Air Planes Land at SFO
Interesting place. At the main gate, veterans get in for free. At curiodyssey veterans get in half price (proof of ID). You can see live animals and spend the day with your child, priceless.
Expensive for the amount of animals and exhibits. Theres also an additional fee to get into the park that the museum is in.
We love this place! Great educational value as much as it is fun! A place to explore for all the ages! And afterwards take a walk around the national park! Great view!
Such an awesome place to bring your little ones. Our two year old loves CuriOdyssey. Their zoo is filled with adorable (and some creepy) local animals. Our little one especially loves the bobcats, eagles, and sea otter. The zoo is the perfect size. Not too big, not too small. Just the perfect amount amount of nature to hang out with for an afternoon. And when youre done with the zoo, they have an entire interactive, hands-on science museum to go play and learn from. Lots of awesome exhibits that are both fun and educational.I would highly recommend a visit if you have a toddler, and if you live in the area, the annual membership is totally worth it.
Small but well maintained. Beautiful surrounding environment. Installations seem a bit old, parking is a bit challenging.
Wonderful park!! Many different activities going on in different areas of this big Park. Came here for a wedding, and amazed of how good of a Wedding venue it is. Will come back sometimes for picnic/camping or something.
This is a good place for kids. You can meet animals and play some science toys. ThIs is not so big as Zoos, but big enough for small kids to go around easily.
This is a really great kids museum and zoo. All the hands-on exhibits are usable by a wide range of ages. The zoo is compact but has a good variety of animals. I think the highlight of the zoo area is the otter exhibit. Its really well done. On a clear day its really good place for watching planes land at SFO and boats putter in and out of the harbor.
I took my son here after he turned 1 and he loved it! The animal exhibit is smaller than I had expected but it was really awesome when we got to the indoor exhibits. He has always been a very curious baby and had a great time here. The parking is shared with the park - we got lucky and found one spot and it was a weekday! Cant imagine what it would be like on weekends since it must be busy...even then, I definitely would come back again in the future!
We had a very fun time but it was a bit small than we expected
Great place for kids up to age 8 or 9. Family friendly place with animals and awesome science related activities and exhibits. Membership is totally worth it as youll be back often.
A great way to spend an afternoon. Theres a feeding event every hour. The bobcats and river otters are the top attraction and very entertaining. The museum activities are great. Kids can easily spend 30 minutes at several different activity tables.
This is such a great hidden treasure on the peninsula! Its sort of a smaller scale Exploratorium plus zoo rolled into one, with great views of the bay and a beautiful event space that can be rented out.
Great experience! Loved the space. Our little guy had a blast! We will be back
Great indoor and outdoor spaces to explore. The zoo animals are much more active than the animals at SF zoo. There are water/sand tables for the kids to play with outside. Might be a good idea to bring a change of clothes for kids. Theres also a nice little gift shop. You can reserve space for private events (birthday parties, etc.).
So much fun.. zoo and kids science.. grand babies loved it...
Great place for the little ones. A mini exploratorium plus animals. Small enough not to be too exhausting but large and interesting enough to spend a few hours or half a day like we did.
Curodeysse has become a place of many cherished memories. There is always something new to learn. A must go!
This musuem is perfect for young kids. My toddler loved it. Its the little things like stools everywhere and little ladders by the exhibits. It was really nice that he could explore on his own without having to be picked up constantly. He was also fascinated by the compost microscope.
So much fun to be had here! The animals are amazing and you can catch a live feeding. Lots of fun science to explore! As well as take a walk around the beautiful surrounding area, watch the planes fly in, and see the bay.
Great for kids! Lots of activities to explore sight, sound, and touch. The mini zoo is also pretty good. Our 1 year old loves it, and I can see that hell continue to get more and more out of it in the coming years.
I was pleasantly surprised. It is small in area, but combines a small zoo, aviary, children DIY and science stuff. The location is great as well and there are several picnic spots around the place.
Very detailed and exciting place for our children to go for school. Its like someone took one part zoo, one part exploriturm, a dash of good parking and garnished with a pleasant commute. I recommend, I think you will be satisfied.
Special exhibit Illuminodyssey is fantastic. Worth the trip. Animal and science exhibits are good but small. No permanent cafe available on premises. Parking (aka vehicle entrance) is cash only.
Great place for kids aged 2 to 6 ... if their older the might be bored and I took my one year old and she was a bit small to understand anything really but they had cool interactive displays for kids to learn things like colours shapes gravity etc .. hm I guess it’s also enjoyable for 35 year old adults
Great place for toddlers and little ones, my elementary age kids are about outgrowing it, but we had many years of fun with them when they were little. If you have a membership, parking is free - which is nice, to visit the big park too.
Animal caretaker gave more than she needed to by sharing and feeding the animals
Great spot for toddlers because its outdoor zoo area is enough animal viewing for most little ones while the indoor interactive displays can keep the little minds entertained as well.Safe parking will controlled access and playgrounds near the lots. Wont find that in SF.Absolutely worth a membership as that includes a parking pass. Nice walking trails as well.
Great location, good views of San Mateo bridge, San Francisco and east bay. But can be noisy with all planes flying overhead.
Took my 3 yr old boy and he loved every second there, plus you have the rest of the park around you. Boats, planes, and mother nature.
Great place to take kids of all ages. Plenty of stuff for them to tinker with, and the attached zoo is really fun. The river otter is very friendly! Lots of science-based activities to play with. My 20mo old had a blast! We will gladly be back soon.
Good visit with kids. There a lot of things to do and to look around. Very friendly and clean.
We love CuriOdyssey! The staff is always friendly and takes pride in their exhibits. Our kids are ages 6 and under and it is perfect for them. We usually spend a half day and that is plenty of time. Definitely worth a visit!
A beautiful location for a small children’s museum/zoo. The views of the bay from here are amazing. The zoo itself is small, but it’s nice to see local wildlife and there is a small garden area. There isn’t really any food, so bring a picnic/snacks or plan to eat somewhere else. There is a small indoor area with kid play exhibits, a bit like the exploratorium. You pay to park and there are very limited handicap parking spots, but there is a drop off area in front.
Cute little place to explore! Totally worth being a member! The light show they have going on had my 2 year old soooo astonished!! We will def be coming back!!
Its okay to take your kids, specially outside near the beach.
Such a fun place. The light presentation was very interesting and super fun.I liked how its not too big but packed with nice activities.
The animal zoo was small. We visited all the animal exhibits in about 15 minutes. The science experiments were great. You can probably complete your visit in under a hour. Keep in mind on a busy day, it would be difficult to navigate your stroller through the room with science experiments unless you park your stroller off to the side.
Endless amounts of learning and fun for our 6 year old. We planned 3 hours here before our scheduled tour elsewhere and those 3 hours absolutely flew by! Great experience.
Accessible and engaging for children and their parents/grandparents. It was easy to see the animals and the docents were friendly and informative. Spent less time in the other science areas but definitely want to check that out next time. This place is great - a number of hands-on activities for all ages (I saw 2 year olds totally engaged), while older kids will enjoy the movies and animal presentations. The outdoor area is delightful for a picnic in nice weather. Overall, a well-conceived and nicely done space.
Fun place to take my granddaughter who loves animals. Its at Coyote Point, beautiful setting, fun outdoor area. Interesting science museum inside.Bring picnic lunch. They only have a few snacks, lunchables, nuts, protein bars etc.
Great fun for the kids, great location to watch planes and walk down to the water. Wish there were healthier snack options available
Excellent place to discover science with kids. Live Science experiments, well explained and nice little zoo. kids LOVE this place! plus it is in the middle of Coyote Point park, with nice (and windy) views of the city and the planes that land very close by !
Interactive exhibits are very good
Not bad fun to be had but not worth traveling distance for. Let down if you’re familiar with Exploratorium or Oakland Zoo. The main Redwood Hall was closed for event without notice ahead of entrance fee payment.
Small kids museum and zoo. Great for toddlers and up to six year olds, I would say! Its located in a wonderful park with Marina and a couple of shoreline trails. There are spots for picnics and grilling as well. Highly recommend for family outing!
Really great for the little ones. Lots of exhibits and animals. The seasonal IlluminOdyssey experience was a lot of fun for my 2 year old.
We had a blast here with our 3 year old and 8 month old. There were lots of activities that enaged our 3 year old - he loved the wind tunnels/vortex and the fog maker. We all enjoyed the feeding of the otters. Our 8 month old lov d watching the other kids play but there was not space for littles like him. I love the giant kaleidoscope it made for a cool Facebook photo. Its really half science center half zoo. Its cool and we got in for free with our membership from our local science center. Great for a half day visit. Not sure you could spend more than four hours. But the view is amazing!
What a great local spot for families with kids! Our son is 2 and the animal area was definitely perfect for him. Some of the science area went a bit over his head but I think we will be able to enjoy this for many years to come.
Totally Wasted. What y’all smoking over there. Y’all selfish. Super salty selfish.
Curiodysee is the best place to go with little kids to see animals up close.
Life saver if you have a child! We take our three year old son here all the time and he never tires of it! We got the family membership and it paid off in a month. There is an indoor space with different stations that kids can run around in. Since there is only one exit/entrance, you dont have to worry about your child running off. The outdoor space has a few animals (otters, bobcats, raccoons, a fox) that kids love to watch. Theres a picnic area that is fantastic for eating packed lunches. All in all, a fantastic place to take your kids! Get the membership of you live in the area!
Great place for young kids! Lots of cool science exhibits that feel like games to little kids. Plus they have a few dozen different animals. Easy to spend an entire afternoon there.
Great science activities. Wide variety of animals
Our son loves this place. Great for 3-8yo. HE just runs all over the place and mess with the machines there. He never wants to leave.
Im gonna go 3 stars here because I wasnt killed or eaten. But, that being said I really couldnt call this place a center, as much as its my 2nd uncles house, the backyard would easily fit all of the animals in here, most of which are already in my backyard right now. Lol. The otters stole the show and were worth the price of admission.
