Great food and friendly staff they were pretty quick at making our orders. The outside patio was available and overall it was a good experience. I have to say that Im giving them 5 stars because of the staff being friendly and efficient. I liked their BLTA and their tequila sunrise.

Amazing little pub with a college feel. The service was decent considering the situation that were in. Definitely worth checking out if your in town.

A very satisfying experience on many levels. I eat here frequently for lunch or dinner, and sometimes just for drinks and appetizers. There is a respectably large menu for every category, the service is always nice and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve eaten here. A particular favorite is the fried chicken. From salads to nachos, everyone can find a good choice.

This was a great mid Friday night stop. Watched the Blazers play Dallas and had a glass of wine. Watching the great burgers and fries come out of the kitchen made me crave some fries. Sad to hear the kitchen had just closed. Ashley, the sweet bartender brought me a lovely fruit cup. Thank you!! Saved me from those French fry calories. Just perfect. So sweet.

If it wasnt for the pictures in front of mothers tavern we may have just kept walking. Happy that we did stop as we had 2 great beers one being an IPA a and another a wheat beer. We ordered a Tuna sandwich with sweet potato fries and a Reuben sandwich with fries. The horseradish sauce was on point. If ever in San Luis Obispo again we will return. We received great service on a Sunday afternoon.

As a visitor, I was surprised by this place.I went in because we visited the Farmers market in DT SLO.Their tri tip sandwich was delicious, so we decided to stop in for a couple of drinks.they were a bit on the stronger side as I had ordered some bourbon drink I believe.Overall, the ambience was very relaxing and the wings were decent. Id come back again.

Really loved this place! The vibe is a bit like a modern, updated saloon. Lots of charm but clean and comfy!They have a great selection of food that is all reasonably priced especially considering the epic sized proportions. I had the western burger and it was so so juicy that it literally exploded in my hand! The beer selection as well is very nice, and if you have the extra cash to spend they have a fine selection of whiskey as well!

Loved the place and service. Hamburger was delicious and i was very happy with the beer selection. However, staff needs to check the womens restroom some wires were sticking out of this odd mirror/marketing sign thing on the wall. Not sure why that would be there?

The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We had onion rings and spinach dip as am appetizer. For our meal our group had 2 burgers, a meatloaf sandwich and the mac and cheese with bacon. We also had delicious cocktails!

Came here during farmers market and had a great tri tip sandwich. I chatted with the pit master Richard I thought he might be a Dick but he told his dad is Dick and he is Richard. Great guy and great BBQ! Thanks Richard.

It was a pleasant lunch we had for my Moms 70th birthday. The waitress was prompt and very nice. My fish & chips was really good, but do think the fries could be improved, since my taste buds are well honed in this category. =) My son also loved his kids menu burger, which is actually very high praise from a normally picky eater. Ofcourse the beer selection was good and enjoyed the desserts ver much. We will be eating there again, most likely for lunch after Sunday church service.

I only ever come here when its a restaurant, not when it converts to a bar later in the night. As a restaurant, its surprisingly good. They probably have the best turkey burger in town, and their Curry of the Day is a surprise standout.In a town thats infamous for killing its good restaurants, the reliability of MoTav has been a welcome oddity. Its a steady, reliable choice with a good variety at reasonable prices.

Great atmosphere at this well known establishment. If you come on a weeknight you will be able to talk and hang out without it getting too packed. Great place to meet new people or enjoy a drink and dance for a bit. Will be returning again for the great service and fun atmosphere.

Service was slow to respond when I took a seat at the bar. This is a cute place in the midst of a vibrant downtown. Im sure others have had different experiences with this pub.

Great local brew options and appetizers

My husband and I love this restaurant!He had meatloaf and mash potatoes and I had the mahi salad with Avacado and pineapple pieces. The salad was delicious! Every bite was great! My husband loves their meatloaf and it didnt disappoint.The restaurant had all sorts of ball games going on the TVs and the crowd, while not quiet was just enough to carry on a conversation. We come here about 6 times a year when ever we are in town.

This is my favorite bar in San Luis Obispo! (If youre trying to party). The music is usually pretty good, but sometimes its AWESOME and on those nights I have the most fun. They always give you really generous drinks (the difference is incredible since I moved to SF). Me and my friends actually spent New Years 2018 here and had an incredible time. Definitely come through here if youre trying to have a great time, but beware that the line can get really long and there will be a cover if theyre especially busy.

Great Moscow Mules, bartenders are super cool, good music, and house made ginger beer. Didnt get to try the food but nothing on the menu looked bad, Id eat it all. Shout out to Spencer for making my wife and Is mini moon even better. Definitely recommend.

Went for lunch on a Friday at 11:30 and while food was good place the place was very understaffed. Only one server working. Took us a while to get our food. I will go again because it was tasty but slow so make sure you have extra time .

Went to dinner with a group of people, none of us had been here for food in over 10 years so expectations were pretty flat.Really surprised by the quality and selection of food! From juicy burgers to sizable salads and flavorful meatloaf, everyone was happy with the menu.Multiple TVs playing sports and happy hour for great pitcher deals of beer and margaritas made this a great after-work choice.Will definitely be back!

Incredible food. I wouldnt even consider it bar food as during the day and early evening MoTav is a fully functioning restaurant. My favorite dish on the menu is the lamb burger, but at Farmers market, they have some of the best sandwiches. Not only are they a great price ($6) for pulled pork, they load it with coleslaw, have tons of barbecue sauce options, and have consistently one of the shortest food lines. Added bonus: they serve turkey legs at Farmers that are to die for

Went in during farmers market and it was really busy. Our server was on point and the food was delicious. My wife and I shared the nachos which was plenty filling for the both of us.

I had a tasty pulled pork sandwich. It was sweet,a bit tangy and most. It came topped with coleslaw and I had to eat it with a fork because the bun was breaking apart. The cashier was friendly and helped me order I came when they had a tent in front of their restaurant. I believe it was a Farmers market that day.

This place is amazing. First of all when you walk in its like stepping back in time to a speakeasy. Then you wonder if your underdressed. You not. First and foremost this is a bar and grill. The beer selection is great. Have only been once but assume they rotate the handles pretty frequently. Then the food. Our food was some of the best we have had in SLO. Will definitely be returning to check out more of the menu.

Its very crowded, drinks are over priced and the bathrooms were overflowing. The place had many guys to choose from but it wasnt very clean or friendly. Not worth it for a cover charge across the street makes better drinks cheaper. Reminds me of a place called The Rack in Reno, Nv this place doesnt attract nice people.

Casual, great food and very inexpensive happy hour food which was unique and delicious. Wait staff very fast and efficient!

Further proof, if needed, that SLO cant do anything wrong. Innovative healthy food. Groovy music. Hot staff. Just looks like a beer joint.

Great American food at decent price. Their burgers are amazing with a wide selection to choose from. The meatloaf is to die for and the mashed potatoes are probably the best Ive ever had. The atmosphere is very lively and sometimes they have live music. My parents and I always eat at Mothers Tavern every time we are her at SLO.

Not my kinda place.Its clean has good drinks and the bar staff can make good stuff and are pretty chill but I personally hate the clue vibe so its a bar i get dragged into but like i said theugh make a good drink so i can deal for a little while even though its not my cup of tea.

We waited for 20 minutes without having anyone offer to take drink orders. Saturday around 3:00 pm. Bar only had one other table and waitress was behind bar flirting with bartender. Were also going to order food and have friends meet us there for drinks. Moved to another bar couple doors down and had a great time. Dont waste your time here.

Went in for a late lunch. Had the beef quesadilla and a cup of jumbalya. Quesadilla was flavorful, spicy and amazing. Jumbalya was good as well. My son got the western burger and said it was great. It was very big and the fries were so good I had to steal quite a few. Great vibe, the prices were right and I look forward to returning and trying some other things on the menu that caught my eye. Highly recommend!

The house salad was not my favorite, bland and the balsamic dressing was not good at all, but the beer battered fries were good.

Had a weird experience at this bar, visiting town with my sisters and we presented our IDs but the bartender was flabbergasted. He looked them over and then disappeared with our IDs to a back room...never had this happen at a bar ever. When he returned with our IDs he tried to joke unsuccessfully about them possibly being fake IDs because they all had the same last name(??)... after basically accusing us of using fake IDs. He handled the situation extremely poorly and definitely did not make us feel welcome or apologize for the accusations...so we ordered one drink and then wished we hadnt since we were totally ignored once we ordered so off we went...

Refused to take my girlfriend Puerto Rico license as He claimed it was not from USA. Not sure when the USA territory became a foreign country. Bouncer was extremely rude and not professional at all. Would never return.

Mothers has always been a perfectly adequate place to grab a quick bite. The thing is, when you glance it out from the outside, you know just about exactly what youre going to get inside.When I go with friends, we usually grab a few apps (Im looking at you nachos) and a few brews. The food is never spectacular, but its also not horrible.The service has never been bad, but then again its also never been exemplary.To be fair, the best final I ever had was here -- our instructions were to meet the professor, grab a pint and that was the final. Aced that one!

If youve only been there at night, stop in during the day and see what they are really about. Its quite the change. Mad respect for whoever cleans up each night.
