This place has great views, and if you want a work out, go for it. One of the few places that is off leash for dogs, but be warned that not all dogs here are friendly. A few went after a dog and tried for mine the other day. Im a dog lover, but it really ruins it when people cant control their dogs.
Nice spot to take a short break from the walk for some brief history about the place.
10/10 view, but if your not good with steep hill definetly would not recomend this.
This is a great place to take your dog on an awfully take as long as you dont mind hiking uphill. There are no restrooms or drinking fountains but lots of good views of the San Leandro Oakland East Bay area and Lake Chabot.
Good uphill walk with rewarding views. Many happy dogs here.
Amazing view of Lake Chabot and SF Shoreline. Addition of public restroom and water fountain will it even better.
This trail is an absolutely beautiful scenic route. You can see Vistas not only of Lake Chabot to the east but to the west you could actually see the San Francisco skyline along with Brisbane all the way to San Mateo Bridge. The only thing that would make this Trail better would be public restrooms-- there are none. Its a 40-minute walk on asphalt from the parking lot back but if you go on the dirt trails then its a bit longer. Its a off-leash area for dogs so I wouldnt really recommend it for bikes.
Better than a stairmaster, nice views, bring dogs
This place is great. Incredible views and sunsets. I love being able to take my dog here to go walking off leash, which is allowed and clearly indicated by signs at the beginning of the path. Its also nice that the hours are 5am-10pm, meaning you can still go even when the days are short. There is one main paved walking path heading up the middle of the ridge and several some dirt trails that run parallel and intersect the main path at times. Nice to have options since this is a regular spot for me and the doggo.Only reason I knocked a star off is because of some of the other dog owners who leave used bags all over the place. Or even worse, dont even try and pick up! Its so frustrating. Please dont do this if you come with a dog. There is a trash can at the gate you can toss it into. Even if you pick it up on the way out (which clearly is not always the case...), its not appropriate. Other walkers shouldnt have to look at/avoid/ignore/smell or otherwise be aware of a used bag on the ground. Like I said, I have a dog. I bring her here all the time. I understand it sucks to carry a used bag with you, but its your dog and its your responsibility! Pick that up and take it with you. End rant.
Great hike with or without your dog or dogs. Get to the top of the hill & youll be rewarded with a scenic view.
What a workout with your dogs! Everyone is so friendly.
Great Views of Bay and Lake Chabot. This is an off leash area so expect dogs on and off the trail. Late fall to end of Spring there are beef cattle grazing which is fun unless you step in a cow pie or your dog either chases them (can be a big fine!) Or chow down on a cow pie!
Beautiful view and good for walk and yes bring dog for walk but there is cows there way too close
Great place for incline and some gorgeous views of the Bay and Lake Chabot, Castro Valley. Walk amongst the cows as you head to the memorial area for victims of violence. Its located at the top amongst a beautiful orchard.
Lots of spectacular beautiful views with plenty of space as well as the luxury of a paved path. There are also lots of neandering winding dirt trails that take you and your trusty companion to your serene space. All trails lead you back to the parking lot so rest assured you cant get lost. Enjoy your walk we did.
Beautiful natural
Perfect for off leash play for dogs.
You can let your dog run off leash & its free! There are snakes in the warmer months so just pay attention.
Love walking the dogs up here. Great views from up here.
Beautiful views of the Bay Area and a great place for dogs and people to run.
Great views of the bay on a clear day
View of the bay and east bay cities on one side and go up a 100 yards or so and you can see a great view of Lake Chabot.
Great place to go for a short hike, as well as catch a sunset
