Tuesday Night open mic poetry readings and acoustic music by artists both local and visiting from afar represent some of the most forward-thinkers in the scene today. A little magic in the heart of old San Juan. A beautiful family owned gift shop with art, poetry and hand crafted souvenirs. Every Tuesday night from 7pm forward there is an open mic night with a multitude of talented locals and nearby wanderers. It provides a open heart forum where much magic and healing is bound to happen. I harnessed my craft at this magical sacred space and have now family for all my existence thanks to it. Highly recommend!

Charming store. They have open mic for poetry every Tuesday from 7pm to 12am. I wish they had more poetry for beginners like me. Most of it there was some poetry but more faced on commercialization. I wanted to find local artists poetry to buy. If there was I didn’t see it. Also prices where a bit high. Staff is amazing. Honestly the best people I’ve met in San Juan. Look for Mantra when you’re there the guy is amazing and very knowledgeable. Other than that a great place to stop when in OSJ.

Stopped here for coffee, ended up eating the daily special as well. It was a pasta/bean/cheese and tortilla chips with corn concoction; don’t remember what it was called and it sounded a bit odd but it was delicious and fresh! It came with a 3 bean soup which was also very good! The espresso and lattes were delicious as well and we had a lovely young person serve us who went above and beyond giving us warm milk for our baby and everything! Obviously the shop and location are prime as well. Highly recommend

So I stumbled in here yesterday looking for a coffee house the owner was very helpful he spoke English perfectly and I ended up getting an almond milk latte the flavor of the coffee was out of this world. The owner took his time and ended up going through a number of local things to do in the area as well as letting us know about an event he was hosting that night at the coffee house.Anyone looking for an authentic spot to sit down and grab a great cup of coffee I would highly recommend this place I was happy to stop by!

My ever favourite place in San Juan. I used to work with a cruise line and had the chance to visit the city many many times. If I wasn’t shopping or exploring around this cute little coffee shop was my one and only place to stay. Loved the atmosphere, the coffee ️ the pastries. I spent endless times reading all the poems displayed inside. ️ I even had bought one in the shop. I hope I can be back one day. ️

Enjoyed my visit here. I stayed quite a while trying to decide between the beautiful art by local artists. Very relaxing atmosphere. Poetry readings, too. Check times. The day I visited the time was from 7P.M. - 12A.M. The red velvet couches around poetry stage are inviting. Great spot to meet people. Ive got my eye on a fabulous painting there. Ill definitely be back.

Fantastic little shop, gorgeous art by the husband and moving poetry by the wife. It was one of my favorite finds in old San Juan.

The stuff they sell is very nice. However the people that work there were not as soon as we came in they were cursing like we werent even there and never asked if we needed anything. I curse alot lol but never in my place of employment.

It is a cute place with many poems in nice and casual frames plus phrases or funny expressions. It is also a cool place to get a present for those who love dogs and cats. At the back you wil find a spot for poetry presentations or just to sit and chill in a quiet atmosphere.

I went yesterday, and I was greeted by the loveliest and charming person, Katherina who show me the parts of the store and actually invited to stay for a reading. The reading was made by the author Brenda M., who read her book and share some of her creations and made a fun and wonderfully speech about what happening on the world. I am very grateful for the experience.

Great coffee at a reasonable price. Amazing fruit smoothies as well. Coffee not your thing? They have beers from the local brewery on tap! If you just want an iced coffee and a spot to cool off in AC, this is it.

This is officially the most amazing place in San Juan, what a pleasant experience, not only is The Poets Passage a great place for coffee/tea, but it is a wonderful creative atmosphere that is a haven for writer/artist types.The owner, Lady is such a warm and special person, it is rare that you ever find a business owner that really makes you feel so welcome. The Poets Passage is such a breath of fresh air and a must visit for tourists visiting San Juan. Beautifully decorated and adorned with Ladys unique poetry, The Poets Passage was the most unique experience I could have hoped for while visiting Puerto Rico. I even attended a poetry reading which I was invited to personally by Lady, it was so incredibly memorable.

Walking around old San Juan, we happened to stop here, and Im so glad that we did! Theres really good coffee, snack options, poetry on the wall and cozy, yet interesting decor. Its just the perfect place for an afternoon break on a summer day.

Every Tuesday they have open mike where locals, tourists come and recite their creations - mostly Spanish, some English. Great crowd and atmosphere.

We happened upon this place while in San Juan on a cruise. If you have any passing interest in writing or poetry you owe yourself a visit. Be sure to say hi to the chihuahua at the counter.
