Four stars for the friendly services and cheap admission. For any kids under 10 it is a super fun place. Nice interaction with the animals too. Definitely not recommended for older kids though.
This was a magical day for me! The location, is very very clean, and they have good signage to let you know where it is and where to park. Every Ranch hand was very kind and knowledgeable. Katie assisted me in the guinea pig section, and that was the most amazing experience, ever! It was so cool that she knew every single Guinea pigs names! Katie was genuine, and I could really see her passion for animals.I loved the fresh fruit and vegetable trays, the petting zoos ail have been to just gives the animals rye crisps!A++++
We took a trek down this way today for a change. This place has a few private party / picnic areas each with its own tables, and jump house. Children can also ride ponies in a circle, or be taken by a leash by an adult. Surprisingly, the ponies know exactly how many trips to make around the pen without being coaxed. Train rides are also available, but not too exciting.
I have been to Zoomars at River Street Ranch with my 2 yr old for a pumpkin patch and just to have a good time. When it came to prepare for his 2nd birthday party I thought Zoomars at River Street Ranch would be a perfect place. I was so right!
Guinea pig petting area where you can sit down and enjoy your time with a guinea pig of your choosing. Goat, llama, alpaca feeding pens. Manual excavator for kids. Train ride. Panning for gems.$15/adult, $12/kid over 2yrs, $6 for vegetable feed... A little extra for train and excavator.
Personally i dont like to touch animals, but my 2 years daughter wants to go there. The fact is most of animals in the safe cage, so my daughter could feed them safely, i didnt have to touch them. The place is kinda small, so it was hard to spend 2 hours.
Its a fun place for kids located in the beautiful Los Rios Historic district near the train station. They have a nice variety of pets and you can buy a small basket of fresh veggies to feed them. Theres optional train ride and horse ride on site. Theres also a playground with slides, a corn kernels playbox, a water/mining play structure small hay maze, picnic areas for private parties and many easy going pets to interact with: horses, llamas, goats, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, cows, hens, ostrich. Nice setup during Halloween, Christmas and Easter time but a little bit pricey.
So much fun! Feeding the animals was a highlight and my 2 year absolutely loved it! Great little pumpkin patch too.
Awesome places to take your kids. Very interactive from feeding the animals to work in the excavators to mining for jewels. My kids 7 and 2 how to blast and definitely will be back. They also did an amazing job from a COVID perspective keeping everything clean and socially distant.
So much fun! The animals are clearly well taken care for. Staff is friendly and informative. They go out of their way to help you and make the experience awesome. Such a fun peaceful place to go. Kids had smiles on their faces the whole time. Pony rides, feeding the animals especially the guinea Pigs, a corn pit, playground, rock mining. It would be nice to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy around the area as well. Definitely recommend and we will be back!
Too crowded. People were not trying to social distancing. There was no disinfecting by the workers, very disappointing. Had to leave after 30 minutes.
Fun, kids loved it! Very family friendly place
We had SUCH a great time, despite not being able to ride the ponies, which we were really looking forward to! Chloe was an amazing ambassador for this business; she was welcoming, kind, patient, and had superior customer service! The new excavators are amazing. We had to do several rounds, haha!
My grand kids loved it. Classy fun event.
Entry fee was high considering they dont have a lot to do but this keeps it from getting over crowded. They keep the place really clean i was impressed. Staff was young but did a great job
The hike was very easy and my daughter (7) loved seeing the history and being able to get inside some of the cages .. will definitely go again
Cute place, but Guinea Pigs are the only animals the kids can actually touch.
3 & 2yr old had fun. Seemed very clean and the staff are friendly. Take snacks they have tables and chairs you can sit and eat at next to a playground. It can get pricey depending on how many activities you do.
Came here on a Saturday afternoon with the kiddo and we had so much fun for how small and not much time spent there. My son is 5 and it was perfect for him. We loved feeding all the animals and holding the guinea pigs.
Fun, shady, easy parking. Just a little pricy for 2 parents, 1 kid, and 1 food basket for the animals (total 48 dollars)
The place is small however is really fun for the kids. The ponny ride needs a reservation though.
Such a fun place to take the kids and adults also.
It was a great place to take the littles. My older little enjoyed feeding the animals, riding the train, pony ride, and the corn bin. The middle little enjoyed feeding the animals and the playground. They have things to do for ages 1-10 it seems. Adults seen having fun feeding the animals (its a cute day date place). Its family oriented and the staff was kind and polite. Definitely a good place to visit.
While it’s a nice event for a sunny day, it’s expensive for the few animals they have.
Small, not worth more than 20 minutes. Only goats and rabits are available right now. 1 emu, and 2 lamas. My wife 1 toddler and myself visited and it was over $65 for a 20 minute visit. Not worth the time.
Your child will love this place. Animals to pet, feed and ride. On top of that they also have a small playground so your little one can run around. Overall my son really likes coming here. We will come again for sure.
So much fun! Great memories
First, let me recommend checking groupon before you come here because my main complaint is cost. $7 pony ride that lasts less than 5 minutes? If you can find a discounted offer this place is adorable. From the various animals that you can feed and pet, to the mining area where you can find gemstones, this place is a little western wonderland. I personally love the area full of Guinea pigs that you can hold and feed. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. There is a playground area and space for birthday parties but what they charge for various attractions (like the pony and train) seem steep compared to overall value. Also portable bathrooms only so those with small children should be advised!
The staff in June mars river street ranchs exceptionally polite and the place was very clean and the maintenance man was such a help with our car who had a flat tire thank you very much
Always a good time. Make sure to get the Mother Lode and youll be stoked!
This place is awesome! Love the animals, love the rides, and love the fall decor! Right across from the train station, so easy to access if you are coming from somewhere along the line. Animals and staff look happy. Clean, well organized. They do parties and all sorts of things, but we like to come on a weekday and have the place almost to ourselves.
Zoomars is our weekly “go to” petting zoo and activity location. The staff is absolutely amazing and truly cares about their guests. The environment is very clean and welcoming. In addition to the variety of animals, there is a train ride, gem panning activity, giant corn pit, horse rides and a wonderful play structure. This is a fabulous family oriented establishment and I highly recommend it ~ !!! A huge shout out to Chloe, Vickie, Edgar and all of the kind and wonderful staff members ~ !!!
Kids has a lot of fun here and very clean
This was such a great place to bring the grand babies, we didnt worry about them at all. The animals are very friendly we loved it. Parking is a challenge so just have patience. Its worth it.
Super cute place. The kids had hours of fun feeding animals, on train and riding the ponies... and my 4 year old loved the pit of corn to play in. I understand it’s a lot of upkeep but it is NOT cheap. I paid about $70 to get in and enjoy the activities. You pay for everything except the corn pit plus and entrance fee. Nicely located in heart of old San Juan Capistrano so it’s easy walking distance to other things.
Friendly staff. Good for little kids, they enjoyed it.
This place is adorable for kids. The animals are well cared for, and the staff is super friendly. My 18 month old was there for a birthday party, a she loved feeding the animals, brushing the goats, horseback riding, and petting the Guinea Pigs!
I take my kids here often. We went a few days ago and they have a new employee, her name is Ashley H. She was in the guinea pig pen and was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. She helped my kids have a great experience at the petting zoo. She then started the train for us and my 1 1/2 year old went on for the first time.... she had a blast!!! Ashley H is a great addition to your staff and I hope to see more of her.
My 5 year old loved this place
Very nice to go with kids! The only negative thing you have to pay for everything! 15 each adults, 12 kids older than 18month. + Salad for animals :) $7 +ride in horses $7 per kid. For a family of 4 was $75 a little too much... The please is small for the money but if you dont have money problem kids will love it! Skip taking the small train that will cost another 6 or 7$ and it is very small. Feeding the small animals is the best for kids!
We set out out on our adventure on the surf liner on Saturday ($10 tickets unlimited stops Sat/Sun) from Santa Ana and our first stop was San Juan Capistrano and zoo Mars for the kids. They played with the guinea pigs, fed the alpacas, pigs, goats, sheep and rabbits. They rode the horses anyas the train panned for precious stones played in a pit of corn made their way thru a hay bail maze and played on the playground equipment. It wears me out to just lost all they did. This place is great it combines learning education with hands on experience. Akin a self containedsafe zone.
Affordable petting zoo. My 3 year old daughter had a blast and would return again.
Nice, very clean for a petting zoo, and animals look well taken care of. Great little stop by for the family if youre in SJC. Accessibility near train station is a plus, but parking can be tight on busy days.
Great petting zoo. Lots of well socialized animals. Very friendly staff. Bit pricey, but a really great selection of animals and lots of hands-on opportunities for kids to interact with the animals.
Not too much animals. Mostly domestic but good for children
We have been going since my kids were 3&4 years old and this day my son turned 13 loved the Guinea pigs he was over the moon since he is a new parent of one.
Awesome little gem, horse back riding, animal feeding and a fun train ride, kids loved it. Cool little neighborhood in the back for a stroll after.
I love this petting zoo, and so does my baby! It has a little bit of everything, guinea pigs, rabbits, actual pigs, llamas, horses, goats and even a gorgeous Emu. It is definitely worth checking out. The staff was incredible too, the manager of the animals was really sweet and knowledgeable. Definitely check it out!
Great place for little kids. They have pony rides, a little train, Guinea Pigs, rabbits, pigs, alpaca, Llama, hens, and goats. Right off the train station too... Few nice places to eat nearby as well.
Enjoyed a couple hours at this petting zoo. My 4 yr old loved it.
Great little petting zoo in the heart of San Juan Capistrano. They have train rides, pony rides, and a decent sized playground. Great place to spend a couple hours with the kiddos.
Super small but so cute. Would have been very expensive if we didnt have a Groupon. Staff were very nice but FYI they charge admission even for infants.
All my kids love this place-15yo, 4yo and 18mo. Prices have gone up a lot, but so has the quality. I like that they rotate the animals and someone is always in guinea pig pen to help or correct kiddos. The playground is a nice touch.
This place is a nice place to bring your little ones to see some farm and domesticated animals as well as feed them and ride a horse. The place is a bit small though so 10 dollars for adult admission seems like a bit too much. But if you like animals and want to see/do something new, then its worth checking it out. Theres also areas that you can rent to have a small party.
This place is a great place for little ones and they also offer great deals in Groupon! Their animals are well fed and they offer pony rides. Great for a Sunday activity!
So bummed about them enforcing Californias mask GUIDELINES and forcing children OUTDOORS to wear masks. Wont return until they change. Also front entrance staff broke ADA laws by not allowing guest with medical exemption to enter without a mask. Very disappointed in how they treated medically handicapped/ mask exempt guest, me
Pretty cool place to feed and pet animals.
Kids absolutely adored this place! They stayed in there petting guinea pigs for hours.
Grandkids had a blast here petting all the animals and holding the guinea pigs. A good amount of veggies to feed the animals at a really great price. Clean place with lots of hand washing stations!
Very friendly staff, and kids love it here
There emu is pretty neat. A little over being fed but definitely cool.
Expensive. Surprisingly expensive actually, but my son still talks about each visit like it was yesterday and we haven’t been for months. Such a fun place for littles!
I think my kids like Zoomars guinea pig corral better than the San Diego Zoo. Great place, friendly people, great memories. Also they have the best bird ever that you can feed and pet...Angel the emu.
Second time coming here. I bought a groupon for the pumpkin patch. We arrived at 12:30 which was later than we wanted too. Due to it being very busy the staff let us know the animals were full so they might not eat the food basket. They offered a voucher for next time if we wanted to which was nice. Friendly staff. Fun place to take the kids. They have alot of fun in the corn sandbox. Also the train ride is alot of fun.
This is a super fun petting zoo. We are old folks that we really enjoy going there and spending some time. You can pick up the animals and love them and it is just wonderful.
Kids loved it, very reasonable entry fee. Lots of interaction with the animals.
You can spend a little or alot. The grand kids had fun panning for crystals & shiny rocks. The small ones loved the small train ride, horseback ride, & the Guinea pigs are always fun to pet & hold. All in all, a fun time in San Juan Capistrano.
Great place for young children and anyone who loves guinea pigs and/or goats. The guinea pig petting pen is full of a variety of guinea pigs. The pen is lined with benches where you can sit and feed, hold and watch the cute little guinea pigs. There is also a good number of goats and a sheep that can be pet and fed. Children can take a ride on a horse which is led around by a member of the zoo staff. You can purchase small baskets of vegetables to feed the animals. The entry price is a little high in my opinion since the place isnt that large and there are limited activities. Little kids will love it.
Visited Zoomars for the first time today, and its awesome! The staff was friendly and welcoming, the animals very comfortable and well kept. Lots for the kids to do and plenty of shaded areas to sit and recharge. Prices are reasonable and location is perfect. I definitely recommend and will be returning soon.
Awesome staff. The Ginnypig lady, Nina, knows every name and breed. Very informative. Animals are very friendly and happy.
I loved this hidden treasure. My 2 year old had such a great time, so did my 14 yr old.
Love to take my toddler here. It is all enclosed, there is a ton for little munchkins to do. We love to sit in the pin with all the guinea pigs and feed them. It doesnt seem to be expensive but when you buy the vegetables or pellets to feed the animals and pay for all the adults, it does add up, but its still worth it for us.
The petting zoo and playground were great. Our kids had a blast. I do feel that it is severely overpriced. It costs more to go here than some much larger farms with many more amenities.
Our daughter loved it! Wish they had a few more animals though
Fun little petting zoo for children. Very well priced for food and entry.
Fun place, especially Jersey the Highland cow and this guy. Look into my eyes.
A fun, cute little place to take kids. Smaller than I thought it was going to be, but still fun.
Pretty small petting zoo and they specialize more for kids bday events. $10 for kids and $12 for adults (plus $5 for a plate of veggies to feed the animals). Price is kinda high for what it is. Nevertheless my daughter enjoyed going here and touching the guinea pigs.
Used to be much cheaper. Now its way overpriced to get through the gate plus almost all activities cost extra. Cant recommend anymore. Parking is tough too.
Cute spot. Fun petting zoo and park and with pony rides and a small train. Great family time but it has gotten pricey- unless you buy your tickets via Groupon.
Totally fun family place to hang with kids between the ages of about 3-10ish. Lots of animals to see pet and ride, train rides and activities too! Price is very affordable!
Fun place for the whole family. Guinea pigs are adorable and good from the kids. They can poo and pee on you. Bring hand sanitizer.
Great place to bring the kids and have fun.
Little kids love it and thats good enough for me. Not all that much to do at Zoomars, to be honest, but itll take up a couple of hours out of your day.
Great for the little ones, but a bit pricey. A wonderful way to let youngsters interact with barnyard animals in a safe environment. Dont buy too much animal chow because theyre are pretty stuffed on a busy day. Ample parking in a nearby garage and an opportunity to see a train roll thru if you time it right.
Love the environment staff are friendly Wednesday mornings are the best its. Not too busy
Such a fun little place. Lots of animals to pet and feed. Other attractions include a small train ride, pony rides, mining, playground, and a gift shop.
Very cute little petting zoo with lots of guinea pigs, goats, horse rides, and llamas. It was a lot of fun!
Great place for the little ones to enjoy animals. This place is a short walk from the metrolink San Juan Capistrano metrolink statiin, so we added a train ride to the day. They had places for birthday parties as well. My child was worn out from all the fun. There is a great groupon for this for a party of 4.
Great place for the kids
Good for younger kids, though parents have to watch them closely at their favorite thing, the Guinea pigs. Easy to spend a lot too.
Bit expensive but fun
