Good place to work out. If you live within their local zone 15 day passes are good for the year and only a little north of $100 for half that at 55+ for a sweet early senior discount. Being your own lock. Theirs are free but you get what you pay for ;) facility well equipped with largest olympic size indoor pool huge hoops gym several weight rooms and great inventory of aerobic machines. Winner.
They now require a very annoying and not particularly good “platform pass” test in order to use the normal weight. Don’t waste your time if you want to use weights, go somewhere else
I go there every day to swim and work out in the weight room. Wonderful facilities.
In San Francisco the real commodity is space. I like working out and feeling like no one else is on top of me. There’s more than enough space here to do what you Gotta do. And if by chance you are a swimmer, you struck gold. I wish they had the steam room or sauna or hot tub, but the showers are hot, and for now, have towels.
Three stars at best. Not too crowded tho.
An excellent facility. It is large and very clean.
Great way to add a gym day during the week. I usually go to 24 hour after work because its only a block away. But this is a perfect way to add an extra gym day or two during the week. The gym is big and well organized. They also have a giant track field, huge pool, basketball court and a boxing ring. Awesome.
Affordable visitor pass available ($95 for 15 visits or something like that), and the basketball courts are awesome. The guys come and play on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon for a few hours.
Parking lot is too crowded. Any cars without a disabled parking placard take the spaces
This is the best equipped Gym I have ever been in and I’ve been in a lot. There is so much space and so many options it’s hard to believe. I am visiting from OS and bought a seniors 15 visit pass. There are some time restrictions Mon to Thurs but for access to a world class gym, swimming pool and basketball courts at around $3 a visit, it’s also the best value you will ever find.
Its like the 80s inside great
The gym is amazing, they having everything you need! Even a pool to swim in for how ever long you need too. The restroom is clean and organized, dont forget to shower before entering the pool. Only downside is that if your an outsider you have to pay $20 to use the gym, I think its $80 for a gym membership, but Im to sure about that. Or if your a student during the school year, but during the summer and you dont have summer school then you would have pay to use it even though your a student and already paying so much money on school.
Decent strength equipment, plenty of bball courts, and huge pool. The membership is pricey so probably only worth it if youre a student
University of San Franciscos large College Gym Facility with very broad range of exercise options, including many aerobic exercise machines, weight room, multiple basketball courts, racquet ball courts, and one of the best swimming pools in San Francisco.Frequented mostly by USF students, staff and faculty, as well as general residents of the nearby neighborhood. But also general members of the public can gain paid access with some limitations on entrance hours. They offer senior discounts starting at just 55 years of age. Highly recommended as one of the best sports facilities within San Francisco.
The Koret Health and Recreation Center is an excellent neighborhood gym. I signed up for the neighborhood pass which costs $96 and allows 15 visits without a time restriction. There is also a rec pass which I believe costs the same but there are some time restrictions (no visits after 2pm on weekdays). To qualify for the neighborhood pass, you have to live within a few blocks boundary of the University of San Francisco. The pool here is amazing. Theres 14 lanes and its never full. The cardio areas are also very nice with quality machines, TVs on all the machines, and never a wait. There are 2 weight rooms, one free weights and one cables/machines. Also quality gear. This is a great gym!
I had a sandwich after this gym. It claimed to be the worlds best turkey sandwich. Id say its a solid 7 out of 10. I cant remember the name of the sandwich place. Happy Halloween 2016
Just wish I could use the machines longer than 30 minutes.
Clean, quiet, proper full gymnasium plus much more. My favorite in SF.
Olympic size pool.
Closing times never follow whats listed online.Normal semester weekdays: 10pmNormal semester weekends: 8pmSummer/winter break: till 6pm?!?Closed from Christmas-ish till after the new years.Random weekends: 6pm when it says 8pm online???Best bet is to call about the absurd lack of hours.
The gym is huge and has plenty of machines to work out on. It also has a pool and great basketball court. The place is very clean and organized. I would recommend going here.
Indoor pool is about as nice as it gets. 25yards and 50m. Nice resources otherwise - basketball, courts, weights, etc.
Excellent sports facility
Great gym awesome swimming pool and very friendly Cafe
Most staffs are friendly but there is one staff today trying to get everyone before 6 with the WORST attitude on earth. He acted like he wanted to fight everyone who didn’t go out on time and he was specifically mean to Chinese students. I don’t know what his problem was. I said we were trying to leave ASAP and he acted like he wanted a fight. So racist.
Arguably, the best all-comprehensive sports facility in San Francisco. The pool alone is worth a visit...
Great facilities. Mostly students and faculty but local residents can also get access for reasonable rates.
Everything you need for a great workout including a variety of fitness classes, basketball courts, and a huge swimming pool.
There doesnt seem to be anyone in charge when John Tao is gone to renew faculty membership that just expired according to the student workers, so for the week Tao is gone, I am unable to use the gym because there is apparently only one person in charge of faculty renewal. Can this be true?
The gym is amazing. The administration on the other hand is horrible. I had an incident with my locker and contacted the manager for help; he was rude and patronizing. I thought customer service was going listen and solve my problem. You can forget about the client is always right.
Good gym, pool, lovely place. Deli hours are tight!! ️️
Only rating it three stars because I assume its good if you can get a membership. If you arent an alumni and dont live in the neighborhood, youre kind of screwed.
Great gym, super reasonable pay per use for general public
Clean and new facilities. A bit pricey but worth it if you care about basketball, swimming, or lifting heavy
Friendly staff and really well equipped and clean facility.
Biggest of in SF l. Somewhat stuffy.
One of the best gyms in the Bay Area.
Wonderful facility with kind staff and incredible trainers
Huge gym. Can be crowded but very nice people.
Something is missing, not quite sure what is.
One of the best facility in the city.
Exceptional
Well-maintained but can get pretty crowded certain times of the day and their weight room could use an expansion since they only have one of every machine and it has kind of an awkward and cramped layout.
Amazing place to workout.
Great swim pool
I like
Best gym in the NoPa area but can get crowded after classes.
Light, spacious, well maintained gym.
The best pool in the City
The best gym in the area
