What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this course? Probably not much expect that I do not agree with the 4.4 star rating on Google reviews. It should be higher! Phenomenal course!

TPC Harding Park, 99 Harding Rd, San Francisco, CA 94132, United States was first opened as Harding Park Golf Club in 1925 to a design by Willie Watson & Sam Whiting. The property is on the edge of Lake Merced and is one of four terrific golf courses in that neck of the woods. Harding Park is a designated municipal golf course that is wholly owned by the city and county of San Francisco.Over the decades Harding Park became a little less-loved, falling into a state of disrepair that was only reversed when this municipally-owned golf course secured municipal funding for a makeover. Renovation of the golf course began in the spring of 2002, was completed and the course reopened in Autumn 2003.Vindication of that municipal investment came in the form of the increasing number of elite golf tournaments that were attracted to Harding Park. The icing on the cake arrived when Harding Park hosted the 102nd edition of the PGA Championship in August 2020, won by Collin Morikawa.

I really loved played here. Gorgeous course, tough but also reasonable with scoring opportunities. I am a little sad that even with a bay area local discount, and only walking, it was $200, which for me means it will have to be a rare thing.

A well-maintained park and golf course that is home to the 2020 PGA Golf Tournament. Peaceful and beautiful, club house has a lovely brunch open to public last time I checked. Nice for friends and family from out of town, especially in summer/early fall months.

Harding Park is one of our last great SF public resources, well a golf course, for San Francisco residents and it has a great restaurant to boot!! its generally amazing but it also has free parking and an abundance of it so that pretty much seals it. I dont know of any other public golf courses in San Francisco, but since I am not a golfer, I would not. There is also what appears to be A well-stocked Pro Shop in the clubhouse. I hope it is the only one we have since golf courses take up tons of space and tons of water, but the two-story, spacious restaurant is top-notch and the wait staff is always so kind. It is fantastic that they cycle in new menu items that are comprable to the ones they are cycling out, So you wont get bored with the menu. There is always a wonderful Sunday brunch, as well. it is without a doubt one of the Hidden gems of San Francisco

Course in good shape, however obvious that a lot of rounds are played here. Rough is getting deep, and the fairways have been narrowed. No driving range, just a net. Staff needs training on basic customer service skills. Nice place, but not worth the money if you are from out of town.

2nd TPC course I played during my west coast trip, boy it wasnt a let down. For a public course it is unreal, super wide fairways and such sceneries every hole can be viewed. The pro shop was nice, decent practice range. Chipping section was closed that day I played but thats ok. Starter let me go early as the group ahead of my tee time was late. Booked through their site and got $80 deal usually $160 I believe, pretty good rate if you ask me as we pay $80 regularly in Toronto and its nowhere close to a TPC setup. The conditions were great, I was told by my local playing partner (whos also a member a Stone Brae) that the conditions are good and the greens were rolling true. Rough is not as bad but everything else is in great conditions. I would definitely play Harding park on my next visit! Oh ya, tough 3 finishing holes! Well recommended

THIS PLACE IS THE WORST! Good luck trying to get a tee time and Harding actually letting you go at that time. Course conditions are always wet, muddy, and greens roll at 7’s. Feels like your putting on carpet. Championship venue...BS! On top of all this my friend had an email confirmation for this weekend and they called us saying the tee time never existed a couple days before. Now we’re stuck with poor tee times and can’t play. STAY AWAY, money well spent at other courses.

Je
Review №25

Pretty odd that they don’t open until an hour after it gets light. Even the practice green. Also, the driving range is not real grass and for now you have to hit into a net, so not that useful. The course is well kept, challenging and fun. They’re increasing difficulty for an upcoming tournament so fairways are narrow and rough is punishing. It gets very windy in the afternoon.

Played with a friend and one person that the pro shop sent out with us on a recent weekday afternoon. Course is playing very tough right now as they prepare for the PGA Championship in 2020 - barrow fairways with thick rough all around. The greens are still pretty sloppy - it’s a Muni course so it gets a ton of play and many people do not fix their ball marks on the greens or drag their feet and scuff the grass. We played behind a foursome and kept up with them all day. Waiting briefly on the par 3’s. We finished in 4h 25m so I was pleasantly surprised as most munis can take a lot closer to 5h to play in SF.

This was a great course. I was treated to a round here and was quite surprised to hear about the history and the future PGA tournament to be coming here. The Course was very challenging and in great shape. We also had lunch afterwards which was very good as well. I hope to get back Harding Park some day. Thanks for the experience!!

Review №28

The course layout and design are super fun and challenging but the pace of play was tough to deal with being a public course. We had to call the marshall out to get the group moving in front of us which helped but it was still a long day. The greens were nice and soft but a little beat up because of the amount of play they receive. When we checked in we were told that if we have any valuables in the car (luggage, etc...) that it needed to be stored in the golf club due to the amount of theft that happens in the parking lot. It was great that they let us know but at the same time, if its a recurring problem then they should have someone patrolling or checking people in as they come into the parking lot.

Its actually a 4.3The course itself is very nice. Pretty decent layout (seems easy for PGA) good conditions (I thought the greens would be faster)The pace of play was really bad and couple that with cart path only made for a long day. Long enough my group stopped playing on 13, so I didnt even get to see the finishing holes. That was disappointing.Overall I would recommend

I had high expectations considering it’s a TPC and PGA worthy course. However, upon tee time receipt I received an email depicting proper golf etiquette and apparels. This was clearly not enforced upon arriving. The Course itself needed major maintenance; from several dead spots on fairways to holes in greens. Not to mention the random walkers that strolled through the fairway that clearly were not golfing. They need to enforce proper golf etiquette on the course to protect its integrity or begin limiting public play. Currently not PGA tournament worthy and hope they can rebound within the next year.

TPC is always a great track, with well manicured fairways and smooth greens. Its links-style so there is no OB on the front nine, and all OB is on the left on the back nine. The rates are great if you are a city resident and have a resident card. Not always easy to get a tee time but as a single they almost always get you a spot quickly. Fun, challenging course and I always seem to shoot my best rounds here.

Iconic course, with a deep history. Att championship with the tiger v. John Daly in ~2006. Daly missed a 3 putt on 1st playoff hole.. Presidents cup, at least 3 senior schwab Championships. For out of towners its like $150+.. Thats CRAZY! you could play 7 rounds with cart and decent courses fot that! Residents card is $40 to walk. Thats reasonable. And it is walkable. Very little up and down for an sf course. It is long though, especially from the back tees, and while most holes are tree lined the fairways are typically generous and fairly wide. Driving range is small and expensive and the balls are usually pretty beat up. They added a nice free putting green, a huge upgrade over the one by the first tee. There is a small free chipping green too, good for shots

Breathtaking views. While I can only speak on the clubhouse, the rest of the park and facilities looked beautiful and were seemingly popular as well. I was here for a memorial of a friend. It left quite the impression. The clubhouses event room was way to small to house the memorial guests, and it became a little uncomfortable after 2-3 hours of standing room only, however there was a deck just behind the floor to ceiling windows and the fresh coastal air felt godsent. The venue had a bar and light snacks which i proceeded to spill on the floor...Twice. I gave up and abandoned my dinnerware. There was a projector screen and projector presumably for pharmacorp conventions and bachelor parties...Which translated surprisingly well for a funeral Service.
