Pasta sisters was sooo great. I got two different pastas, the tagliatelle and the salmon cream. Since I saw so many rave reviews about the tagliatelle I thought it would be the best.. it was good but the salmon cream really took the cake.
Went to a concert here and beyond having a great time because of the event, i had a great time because of the venue as well. I love how small it is, but spacious at the same time. And all of the staff is very personable and kind! Bathrooms are clean and they kept the temperature in there perfect during the whole show! If i lived in SF, this would be a local spot for me!
This was my first time at Slims to see Teddy Swims (my fave artist) play! This venue is absolutely perfect!!! For starters the guys working the door were so kind and polite with us. Getting to the bar was super easy and the bartenders were INCREDIBLE!!!!! Ive never seen bartenders work as hard and as fast as they did. The security was fantastic too!!! We had a couple of guys who were making some of the girl uncomfortable with their aggression and security saw it, from what seemed like the corner of their eye, and handled it in a very calm and collected manner. The acoustics were killer!!! After the show was over the staff was so kind and courteous. I HIGHLY recommend Slims if your favorite artist is playing here. You wont be disappointed!!!
Its a small venue and thats what makes it great for saying lesser-known bands when they are touring. Is there is a band you are slightly interested in and they are playing here dont hesitate to go. Friendly staff good prices
I love seeing shows at Slims! I have been here twice and really enjoyed it. I like how you can get the the course meal with the show. Although the quality of the food could be a little better. You cant really complain for the price though. Pictures are from the Strung Out show! Always worth seeing!!
Pretty spacious spot, a whole ton of security everywhere checking you at the door etc. Seems to be a VIP area on the balcony with a good view of Live performances but a tad small. The night I came the floors were ridiculously sticky and literally had to pry my feet off the floor granted the house was packed from the krs-1 performance. Huge long bar and quick bartenders which is a plus and drinks are strong as well, nothing water down which I was happy about. On terms of parking, Goodluck your in the city thats hard to come by.
Venue was great! Perfectly small. The womens restroom has 2 stalls!! Thats almost unheard of for the ladies room. They offer a large selection of non alcoholic options and thats super rad. Very fairly priced too.
Slims is a very nice music Hall for up and coming bands. Good security, helpful employees, accommodates ADA patrons. I would feel safe leaving my teenager here for a show but would remain with them outside. (Though security is pretty good at watching the line too). Parking structures near by.
Nice small nightclub, great music, it will be missed
We went here for the Cherry Poppin Daddies, who were great. Sadly, the show was lightly attended, so the club had a black curtain directly behind the sound board, which meant that the bathrooms located in the rear of the club were not available. There are other bathrooms located towards the front, down a staircase. The kitchen was open, and we had some BBQ chicken pizza, along with loaded tater tots. Both were good. Drinks and food were reasonably priced. Was very nice having room to dance. Plus we did end up sharing a table in the back with a mom and her daughter, so we could sit down and eat when our food was ready. The Daddies played two sets, and they are a fun band. They deserved a bigger audience, but maybe next time.
This is a great place!! Saw komotose Bros here and they were terrific. Great crowd, they acted like they came here a lot! They knew the band. The band members used to work there. I won tickets to come to this place or else I probably would have never tried it. I won the tickets on the radio. But it was so cool I will be back. Although theres no seating and it was packed like sardines. But the $7 Superior beer was a real treat. Definitely recommended!
4.5 rating is unbelievable for this place . Limited seating is way too generous. The venue holds over 300 guest-standing room, and there are only 40 to 50 seats in the balcony. Half of them were reserved . After standing in line for an hour it was miserable to stand shoulder to shoulder for another 2 hours for mediocre talent. No fun.
Fairly basic concert venue, attended the Lee Fields show here, which was great! Bar service was decent and they had free ear plugs (forgot to bring them). The sound for the opener was very bad (weird delay/bad mix), luckily the sound for the main show was better. We were standing near the front, there are some seats in the back, but you will need to get in very early if you want to sit, and its far away from the stage.
I watched and listened to Lee Fields and The Expressions. One of the best shows Ive been to in a really long time. I could clearly hear Lee over the sound system and the bartenders were on point.
Great venue and amazing staff. I had a bit of an overheating episode (sold out show was crowded!) and wasnt feeling well. They were extremely kind about getting me water and making sure I was ok. Thanks to them I didnt faint (phew) and still got to enjoy the show!
Good niche of a place for live music. Staff are pleasant. Bar is very well stocked. Definitely coming back.
A great, safe, and clean venue in the city to see local, regional and world renowned musical acts. I would recommend this location to anyone.
This is not one of my favorite places to see a show in the City, but since small clubs are dwindling, it has become one of the few choices left and they have really upped their accessibility game with the wheelchair lift! a though I have never used them, apparently free ear plugs. Im still if the belief, if its too loud, yr too old. Very good ADA staff & seating. Get there early to find a reasonable parking space & take everything you care abt out of the car or hide it, including phone charging cables.
Great venue and sound system but needs air conditioning. Always so hot at this place! Oh well they get great bands at reasonable prices so it is still a good time.
Great bar, always great sound during live performances. When moshing, keep in mind the metal pillars around the dance floor
Sat on landing for recent concert - 2 drink minimum well-worth it! Many tables reserved for ADA (handicapped), but opened up after first band (at your own risk). However, someone sat at a table in front of us and decided to stand through most of the show, making it difficult to see. Would have been nice if waitress had monitored and asked him to be seated.
Went to see bbno$ in February. A little cramped but had a nice atmosphere. Altogether a good experience.
Such a fun venue!! I wish it wasnt so far because I would go see shows as much as possible. I had so much fun when I went to go see Anti-flag. Slims has an amazing bar as well and the bartenders know their stuff and are very helpful when you ask for suggestions. Such a good experience, I cant wait to go back!
Awesome venue! The place is small so you get to be close to the music artists. The sound was great.
Decent venue for small shows. Sound is massive considering the limited space. Seems to draw mostly punk rock or rockabilly crowd. Recently saw the legendary 5.6.7.8s & it was beyond epic! Glad i didnt miss it. Be aware of the sketchy area. Avoid driving there, try uber instead.
One of the best venues for shows. One of the only places to take your child to see great bands without worrying about someone getting too rowdy.
Slims is a great live music venue. They book excellent artists in an intimate venue.
New Years Eve was awesome! Great show from Lagwagon, Pulley and Oaklands very own Grumpster! Great venue, killer sound and $5 tall boys! What else you need?
One of the best live music venues in the city... great drinks too!
Good venue one of the staff hit a blunt in front of me 5 stars
Went to see the Menzingers here. The place itself was great. Small and intimate so nice to watch the band and get up close. Only negative was the younger staff...very rude. But we didnt let that ruin a great night! We just didnt tip them! Lol
Small venue but probably the most laid back Ive ever been to
The cool intimate place to see a show but there is nowhere to sit
Fun venue, nice staff, will see any show in this venue in the future. Adult beverages about average for the city. I have seen worse.
Seen a few good shows here. Always great
So the performers were great, the bartender was sweet and attentive but the bouncers were weird. Our shoes hurt. Wearing heels. We are two of the few girls in the crowd, breaking it down low. When we left we wanted to sit down but it was raining. There was a chair sitting out in the rain. So I grabbed it and pulled it to under the shade out of the rain while my friend sits before our ride arrives and then the bouncer pulled it back to under the rain and said “sorry someone is going to sit here later”. Okay so someone important is going to sit there and you are going to leave it wet for them? 10 mins go by and no one comes to sit on the wet chair. I would never treat a man like that especially if his shoes hurt so why treat a woman like that? Where’s the equality of respect? I’m disappointed. Better check on the tall bouncer with a full beard as dark as the cap he was wearing. That’s what makes you ugly, when your soul is not in the right place.
Came here to see Palace... I love the band but this show wasn’t enjoyable because the sound tech was incompetent (lots of reverb, poor balance, crazy high levels)
Pretty good spot for a concert, though the acts they bring through arent really up to par with other comparable venues in the city.
Saw me first &gimme gimme in dec...cant wait to go back-great vibe, people, drinks etc
Cool place ! Sound was good. Drinks reasonable price.
I went to Me first and the Gimme Gimmes, it was great!I think it is a very good place and great option for different events, there is always something nice to see, although I think the space is small and sometimes its overpacked.
Great sound, I bought dinner with the show and it was pretty good food. The only criticism I have is the balcony where dinner guests are, the sound is so much better on the floor. Adding a couple of smaller speakers on time delay near the balcony would make it fantastic.
Stayed at the balcony level seating. I got a seat up in the back so it was hard to see the bands because there was poles/people in the way. It felt a little crowded on the stage floor. The sound was great and the staff is very friendly. There is a coat rack at the bottom that you have to pay a little for. Understandable just be aware of it before you go. 4 stars because I feel like they should lower their max capacity.
Ive been to quite a few local venues but the staff here is fantastic. Shout out to Amanda for being so cool when my girlfriend got hit really hard during the Movements show. She brought us a chair and water and checked in with us and was overall just really friendly. Same with the bouncer (Im sorry for not knowing your name) who was also just a pleasure to talk to.
Always a great place to catch a good act. The all-floor setup really makes for a great music experience regardless of where you are. The only spot that is really a hazard is nearest the front door as there are stairs which you can fall from if its standing room only and you have no means to brace yourself.
Went for a concert with the menzingers, tiny moving parts and Daddy issues. The sound was really good, the staff members were really helpful during stage dives they ensured that the people being carried didnt fall down on their heads. Other highlights include the lighting, bar and the spacious area to mosh. It was unforgettable show.
I saw Audrey Mika at this venue in August. It was a great atmosphere even before the concert began. Being in the front was amazing. I felt present.
Enough space but still an intimate feeling seeing some good bands
I am woman, five feet tall. I was at a prog rock show, The Pineapple Thief. I was headbanging when a woman who worked for the venue approached me and said “You’re here,And you need to take it down to here.” I’m sorry, i didnt know that it’s not acceptable to head bang at prog shows anymore...
Small venue, they have a nice bar and good atmosphere
I wish they had better security at times. Some concert goers were really obnoxious in the front and nearly pushed a bunch of people. Pretty sure they were on some kind of drug or intoxicated pretty badly. However, they host some pretty rad artists
This could be such a perfect music venue...went there for Haley Reinhart concert. Ticket said doors at 7, show at 8. We stood out in the freezing cold until 7:35,when they finally opened the doors. Show started 20 minutes late. They had 2 bartenders for 400 people!! It took 35 minutes to get a beer and glass of wine. The bartenders were nice enough and relatively fast, but there is no way to keep up with orders and also go to the back every few minutes and in the kitchen if food orders are ready. Horrible system. Horrible management. They could have sold 3x as much food and beverage that night and would have had happy customers. What a way to ruin an otherwise great venue with bad service and organization.
Went to see Plini, Dave MacKay and Mestis live. Sound quality was on point and food was good. Venue is very easy to find and accessible.
Great venue for smaller, more personal feeling shows, reasonably priced drinks, and yes, theres a coat check.
Small venue, great sound, excellent bar and staff
Good selection of music, featuring some lesser known genres. Decent floor for moshing, with a large bar and a few high tables in the back for more casual viewers. Upstairs is a seated dinner service (dinner tickets required) that gives adults, couples, and otherwise laid back individuals another way to enjoy the show. Can be hard to see the stage from some of the upstairs seats, and typical small venue music loudness and (and thus distortion) can be present here, but overall a good experience.
Cool venue, great sound
Cool, intimate venuedrinks are priced good, tooplus, i got to see the loml
One of my favorite places in SF to see a show
One my favorite live music venues. The sound system is one of the best Ive seen so far. Very crisp and clear. They also have a pretty strong air conditioning system so it was pretty chill inside - it can be cold for some people so maybe bring a light jacket.
Such an amazing small venue. If a band you like is playing here dont hesitate to go see them. Very intimate setting!
Real nice venue. Stage is up front with bar on the side and around back. Posts only obstruct views from the very back. Stage is about three feet off the floor with no barricade.
Just another lame sf venue that oversells tickets.Great sound quality and visuals, but when you can’t sway without getting intimate with strangers, it ruins the artists.Seriously, if awesome venues like Regency and Independent can sell out shows and give their patrons room to dance, so can you. Just charge more for tickets. I would pay more to not have to feel everyone breath on my neck. You’re not a real music venue if you don’t give patrons room to dance. Do better.
We went here to see our favorite local band. We had dinner tickets which allowed us to sit, which was great. The music was easy to hear but not so loud that it hurt your ears. I would definitely go for more shows.
A great place for live music. Good food. Good bar service... and good people
Nice venue. Bathrooms are a bit gross, but that a minor detail.
This is the place to go for Reggae on Sunday nights. Its packed after mid-nite but almost dead before. SO I suggest getting there at 1030 or so...have fun we did!
Love this small intimate venue and the shows they book. That said, the dinner that you can buy with a show is always slow and they make excuses. My second time getting this it took 3 hours for them to serve the whole meal. Also, they never turned the lights off on the balcony so you couldnt see the stage very well.
Live music in a small/medium sized bar.
Very well organized place.
Plini rocks! Good sound, mix was on point.
The show I saw (Anthony Fantano) was amazing, but the venue itself had a lot of issues we werent even allowed inside until 45 minutes after they were supposed to and the actual show started almost an hour and a half late, that being said the facilities and sound were good so other than all the waiting it was still an enjoyable experience
Great view of the stage, good sound, clean bathrooms, and friendly staff. Definitely hoping some more of my favorites play at Slims if they play in the bay area.
A classic music venue. Well run box office and door systems help with speedy entry. Good acoustics. Be prepared for only two bathroom stalls which means a line. I ate dinner with my last show. It was not amazing, but not terrible. The balcony seats where dinner is served have a good view and a lot less crowding.
Great .. Fun times always! GEET SUM! Slims
Consistently solid venue for seeing shows! Parking is easy nearby at night and there are transit options too!
I really want to give Michael, head of security, a super big shout out. He is crazy nice and very reasonable and great at his job. Thanks, Michael! The venue was also pretty dope and they have great shows and reasonable prices, good accommodations. Perfect overall
Cant recommend Slims enough. The employees were nice and very helpful. The crowds energy was phenomenal and I will be taking any chance I can to come back soon!
Really chill venue with great staff and affordable food/drink prices.
Cuz they book good shows
Good venue, good bartenders, bathrooms clean!
Fantastic medium sized venue for live music, food and drinks. There is lots of free parking in the area after 6:00 PM and is close proximity to the SOMA Food Trucks.
Adam Sterns giant floating head told me to purchase a timeshare. I look forward to learning to ski.
Loud as hell plus you can get close to the stage. Beware stage divers, and try to direct them AWAY from the columns. Bar is in view of the stage.
Slims venue has alot of awesome shows. Drinks are yummy. People r nice. The stage is really close to crowd which is nice its kinda like a huge living room that has a stage & a bar. With people who know how to run it. I love it!
Great place! Nice bar and a calm atmosphere until the band starts to play! Thats when it gets awesome!
Perfect sized venue to enjoy upcoming artists and bands. Cozy, great bar, friendly staff, and easy parking in the South of Market area.
It was a good place to attend a concert in. They are pretty organized and I had a lot of fun there.
I saw Gabrielle Aplin here! Was an extremely heartwarming experience, and a big part of that was due to the easygoing crowd and the efficient staff. The venue is small/medium-sized. The stage is maybe 3 feet above the general floor. Staff was easy to talk to, and they had clean restrooms in the venue itself. They had drinks, alcohol, and snacks, like every venue; along with a pretty wicked disco ball.
