Front desk does the “catty old gay man” Stereotype to perfection and are habitually rude for absolutely no reason. DO NOT let this deter you from utilizing the center and asking for help though. Definitely deserving of only one star because I’m sure their horrible attitudes have turned people away from seeking help at least a few times, so an adjustment definitely needs to be made

Ive had really positive experiences at the San Diego LGBT Community Center. I appreciate all that they have given and still actively give, to the community at large. Every meeting and happening that Ive participated in there has opened my eyes in some way. They have a great way of balancing education and fun. Many thanks to all who work there & labor on behalf of some of the most vulnerable people in our county. With Love, Rev. Kat

As part of a school assignment, I chose to come to this space to recieve a tour and learn more about the facility and what they offered. I first called to inquire about my visiting, they told me they would be happy to show me around. Upon arrival, I was greeted with big smiles from the front desk staff and Steve gave me a very informative tour. I love everything theyre doing here for LGBTQ+ youth all the way to seniors, a great safe space for the community.

I was referred to Project Trans @ The Center, by my Doctor. As a transgender woman, just beginning my transition, I was in search for any help, resources and guidance, I could get. I have definitely gotten that from Project Trans @The Center.I was hesitant to reach out at first, as I was not yet publicly out to most friends and family. After a few weeks, I decided to finally reach out. I decided my comfort level was to reach out to them, via email. After sending an email, I received an email reply within 1 day, from Karrah.Karrahs email was warm and welcoming. She explained the services they provided and offered to set up an intake appointment to get me started. As this was all new to me, I was a bit nervous going in for my appointment. When I arrived, I checked in at the front desk. I was greeted by everyone at the front desk, they were all friendly and that made me feel at ease. My appointment with Karrah lasted about 30min total.Karrah was friendly, welcoming and respectful. I immediately felt comfortable after meeting with her. Karrah was able to set me up with therapy sessions, which they provided, as well contact information for their Transgender Services Coordinator, Naya. As an added comfort level, they do ask you if you have any preferences (male/female) you may have when setting you up with the right therapist.I have been seeing my Therapist, Tanesha for a few months now. I could not have been paired with anyone better than her. She has been a saving grace and I enjoy being able to see her.I also reached out to their Transgender Services Coordinator, Naya. In regards to getting assistance on changing my name and gender marker, legally. Naya contacted me via telephone and couldnt have been anymore respectful and welcoming. She was so friendly and eager to help me. She asked a few questions to better get to know me and what it was I was looking for. I let her know I was wanting to change my legal name and gender marker and that I wasnt sure where to start in that process. She then set me up for an 1 on 1 appointment, with her. When I arrived for my appointment with Naya, I felt at ease with her. She helped me fill out all the required forms, to start the process, of legally changing my name/gender marker. She was a breath of fresh air, as she knows exactly how to assist me, being a transwoman herself. Naya was able to help me in getting a waiver with the courts filing fee, which was such a huge help. After helping me get all the forms I needed, she gave me a step by step guide on what to do from that point on. This guide assisted me with contact and address information to the San Diego Courthouse, which room to bring my paperwork to and any information and/or documents I should bring with me, to file my paperwork. This was so helpful, when I arrived at the San Diego Courthouse. Naya was available to answer questions I had after our appointment and has been such a wonderful experience for me.My name and gender marker are now successfully and legally changed!Everyone at Project Trans and The Center have been nothing short of amazing and helpful. Im so thankful to each and every one of them, from the intake, to the services and people they provided. I definitely recommend anyone who is seeking assistance to reach out to them.

This place is not really what it says it is! The only community this place is interested in catering to is one with money. Its a business not a community center, and its a shame. The way that they treat and have treated groups in the community has been very insightful and it needs to change, and all the posts saying its the greatest and giving 5 stars is just a lie

MI love that place. I went for a free HIV testing over there. The front desk guy looks tired but the Health personnel was the best I ever had to meet. They really care for you and make you feel comfortable. That was my first test ever and I was really nercous, so having the opportunity to have someone going through it with me was just really amazing. Great people and I do recommend people to step up and go visit them for any reason. And the HIV testing is free. LOVE. Them

Wont answer a simple question, at first. Then as I be persistent --- I wasnt given to anyone (for a 3rd hand opinion) who can comment.About a situation I had --- as I be a casual lifestyle person. The other person claims the same --- as I disagree; he only claims of experimenting.SO, such a mess-up got me to ask this Org --- on the phone if they have an internet chat. [option] I knew there was no such, but I had to ask -- so to give attention. For such expanded business hours; rather it shall be for lesser business hours & internet access communication. This org gets enuff donations via the $$$ in San Diego. Typical behavior, in the San Diego County business society: is that phone calls/messages are not returned.
