Good selection of music and alcohol. Crowd is friendly. The location is perfect if you want to grab a bite to eat since restaurants are next to the location. I actually am having a difficult time finding any cons.

One of the best bars in the University Heights area. Its combination of indoor bar, outdoor bar and live music club into one spot really makes it hard to beat if youre looking to spend your evening in one location.

Such an unusual night spot with a cool vibe. We saw Shay, who gives a fantastic show btw, and hung out in the gardens festooned with Halloween decor. Drinks look tantalizing although I was DD... maybe next time!

Cool venue, I love that there is both outdoor an indoor spaces. Great for groups and dancing. The night that we went the dj was mixing 90s hits and they also had a pop up thrift store— simply amazing! They also offer a variety of exotic and tasty drinks.

Nice decor and layout for the most part. However, very cliquey. Not really a songs place, more for groups or dates. The area (shack) for the bands/ DJs is enclosed and super loud. Would be nice if it openness up like it used to, but

I recently had a small even here in the back area. Everyone at Park & Rec was very friendly and helpful and the even couldnt have gone any better. A big thank you to everyone at Park & Rec.

This is my go to bar, I love this place! They have something for everyone. Good beer selection, knowledgeable bartenders and you can tell them some ideas of what you like and they will create something special for you. They also have lots of games to play in the courtyard and bands on weekends

I love the vibe here. Its still laid back like Bourbon Street used to be but a bit less party-ish. Staff is super friendly and the drinks are delicious!

Very cool bar. Has two bars inside in two different buildings that are separated by a nice patio area. The place feels more like a big house than a bar, which gives it a home and welcoming feel. Dance floor next to one of the bars. The music is a good mix of pop dance tunes- hip hop and Latin. There are games to play inside, including jumbo connect 4 and jumbo jenga. This place thankfully isnt super crowded or stuffy. The ambiance is great. Crowd consists of most mid twenties to early thirties. The bathroom is surprisingly clean for a bar lol. Park & Rec is in a neat location, with small restaurants on the same street. I recommend to check it out.

Its a three star because I couldnt even get in the door and thus cannot offer a real rating, so middle of the road it is. Apparently a backpack is a non-starter for them. I offered to let them search it, but it was a no. To his credit, the doorman said it was a new policy that he didnt understand or like, but nonetheless its a beach town bar that focuses on outdoor spaces and fun games that somehow finds a backpack too dangerous. Oh, but purses of all shapes and sizes are welcome. Head to the Kairoa brewery across the street where no such absurd policies exist and a rooftop bar awaits with wonderful sunset views and delicious food.

Park & Rec is a great bar with a great atmosphere, great drinks, and great service. University Lights is probably one of my favorite drinks that Ive ever had and I dont see myself ordering something else here. All of the bartenders are very nice but I especially like the guy (his name escapes me) who always wears the Mariners hat/Seahawks stuff, even though Im a Rams fan. Always make sure to bring people here when they want to go out in San Diego.

Trendy spot to see and be seen. Impress a date or celebrate with a tremendous variety of craft cocktails from dark smoky whiskeys and mezcal to easy breezy tiki drinks. Even a decent craft beer selection to please that one guy who only wants local craft beer. 6-7$ craft cocktail Happy hour on weekdays before 6pm and after 10pm is an absolute steal. And with local tacos and Thai and pizza all within walking distance, why not have nice a cocktail before (or after) dinner.

Great place for a good hangout with friends to start the night. The drinks were good and bartenders were helpful. Plenty of games to play, but were very used. No food here but they do allow you to bring in food if needed. Again, a great place if you are looking for a low key atmosphere and place to start the night. They do have a dance floor and DJ some nights but I have only been here in the early evening.

They also serve food in the very back.Weve been here for live music as well as a DJ. Decent craft selection and cocktails.Not to mention they have 2 pinball machines inside.

One of my favorites for the weekend. Most Fri + Sat nights theyll have live music and the dance floor gets going.It draws a great group of people. Check it out.

This is a fun little bar with lots of games such as ping pong, darts, big Jenga, large connect four, and pin ball machines. They have a nice outdoor space and good drinks with good variety. Staff was very nice and helpful. Bathrooms are clean. Good atmosphere.

This place is a keeper. Came on a Saturday afternoon and it was nice and chill. It looks like it would get really crowded at night, but theres lots of space and they had a good little beer selection.

Nice little bar. Good menu for cocktails, limited taps for beer though. A great place to sit out on the patio and drink.Also, every time Ive been here someone is renting out a portion (or all of the bar) for a private event. So be prepared for that possibility.

The drinks are great, but the flow is kinda odd.

They make a good cocktail and have a very large space outside which is great for groups. However, the bar tenders are a bit rude and just mopey even when its super slow. The crowd on the weekend gets progressively doucheier as the night goes on. I think they are probably the best cocktails in that immediate area. You just have to put up with the inconsistent atmosphere which is a shame because this place should be great. But if you bring a group you can bring in food and make your own atmosphere.

Had a Meetup here. Back patio was great for a group to sit. Inside is spacious with standing room. Staff was friendly.

Been here a couple times I really like it. Decent staff and good music. The last time I was here there was a drunk and annoying guy who tried to touch my butt and I was really upset. This is not Park and Recs fault, but one of the security did notice and threw him out so I appreciated that.

I sincerely cant quit this place. Music, and drinks are great. Definitely check out their events and guest bartending days for some rad parties

This place was happening! The line was long but it was moving. No cover charge and the staff was awesone. They had 2 DJs in different areas keeping everyone moving. We are coming back!

I have not been right here on the week end however so I have not seen the place packed, yet whem i went it was extremely acceptable. I enjoy the name in reference to the road name and also to stand out society, abit of wits and also humor!The craft alcoholic drinks are actually excellent for those we had. The rate is reasonable for the top quality, care, attention and also ability you get They have a good option of alcohol, mixologist and also educated alcoholic drink drinkers will be deliggted by flavorful beverages such as chartreuse, saint germain as well as bitters to seasoning up their beverage.

Really fun atmosphere. The bar is kind of retro, then there is a cool outdoor courtyard with separate bar, and also a third enclosed space with a bar. Great place to see live music. The cocktails are ok, not my favorites, and never seem strong.

Nice place, has older music from the 90s and early 2000s. I like the music. Good crowd and quick and friendly service. This place is nothing special and does not stand out from other bars.

This is a chill spot. They have an outside patio with games and another bar to order drinks. The inside gets a little crazy as it’s tiny. Parking is somewhat difficult but if you just park like 5 blocks away, you’re golden.

Fair prices and great drinks

The bars vibe is very chill and they have live music on the weekends. Cocktail prices are pretty standard for the area however beer prices are a just a tad inflated.

The bar has a cool layout, but it only has 1 bar which makes getting a drink so hard. The bartenders have a tough time knowing who is at the bar first so you have to be pushy. Otherwise its a cool spot. Ive seen live music and DJs in the studio room so there is plenty of variety

Great drinks, atmosphere, and they have games! Just be wary sitting under the tree in the side courtyard. My friend got slimed by several slugs and one even got into hair somehow.

Went and saw a great 80s cover band. The singer had an amazing voice. The front bar is super bussy but there are two more in the back where you dont have to fight so hard for service. The mix of indoor outdoor space makes you feel like your in a small little town. No wait or long line to get in like other bars in the area. No food available here as far as i could tell however there is a bit of a dance floor.

This place is just the best. There are, I believe, a couple of gnomes that live here in the wall.

Delicious drinks if youre craving a pretentious cocktail in a Gatsby glass, but definitely nowhere near as fun as Bourbon St. used to be. The games look fun but Ive only ever stayed for a drink or two before the crew moves on to another spot. Definitely worth a stop

Probably one of my favorite bars in the area. It feels like a cool club house and the decor is awesome. There is plenty of activities like shuffleboard, ping pong, bags, and on the weekends they have live music. Cocktails are awesome there but can be pricey making it is easy to run up a high tab.

Had a private event here, staff was excellent, food was great and the venue is very cool. You feel more like you are at a house party than a venue. Tons of seating options, tons of non-alcoholic options, tons of things to do will definitely be back

This place reminds me as if your in a beautiful top of the line bar in England. Very classy, but yet fun and casual at the same time. Highly recommend this place. This location is a huge step towards making University Heights the next place go to place to go out.

This New Orleans themed bar is a great place to go out with friends after work. It has a great variety of games, good local beer selection, and decent prices. Although there is no food there is lots of food close by

This has turned into one of my local favorite. The bartenders are very good and the drinks are great. They have live music most weekends and is real fun if you kind of like avoiding the downtown madness. Try the old fashions.
