Classes are in small group sessions with equipment rotations; staff is following sanitation guidelines and enforcing face coverings and social distancing without exceptions. Limit only one audience member per student. Students and audience all get temperature checked prior to admitance. Reasonable prices and variety of camps and other event activities offered at additional cost. Free session available to any new student....just gotta call to schedule it. As far as classes, coaches are young and enthusiastic. Some are a bit more strict and yell more than others, so it can be a bit intimidating for the absolute newbie. There are different skill level classes offered and plenty of different hours to choose from. Overall, my daughter would like to learn more trampoline acrobatics and I may need to find a different place for that, but she likes Rockstar Gymnastics for now.
Its good but due to covid can my child just go eny day or on her before the covid days?also i paid 1 month and then the covid happend so what wil happend to that month she missed class? also great work love the workers so nice and yeah those are my questions cause my kid has class today but idk if its open or close and more can you pleas tell me about the new covid rules and more thanks great work i give it 5 star the workers are great at teaching and they are mosly 15-35 years old and wich are great. thanks
Not a bad gym. Price wise it is one of the best in the area. My daughter has learned a lot and continues to enjoy it. The class sizes range week to week which is odd. They could benefit from a re-structured class schedule and better clerical / secretary skills up front. Beware there is no AC and they never use their fans...? Updating the interior and some equipment is much needed. To the owner if you read this, please invest in some better fans, it is almost unbearable just sitting here. I can’t imagine for all the young kids moving around and sweating. That being said you get what you pay for I suppose.
I feel the instructors are too young and inexperienced, I dont like the fact that you cannot make up a class unless you give them a 24 hr notice. I was told my daughter was late to class and wouldnt be admitted next time she was late (I hope they realize they are located blocks away from trolley tracks, that sometimes take 20min) the price is great in comparison to other gyms but the place needs work and it gets really smelly in there most of the time.
My daughter loves it here!
I absolutely love this gym and do not regret coming here but i recently told my parents that I did not want to continued classes here because, I have been learning more on my own in the grass rather than in the gym with the coaches. I personally felt as if the coaches were just holding me back from my full potential. I did learn a lot of technique and form but not much skills. I still love the gym and i think it is a great place to start gymnastics. This was the first place I went to gymnastics and I love the coaches and I have so many good memories.
Really a great place for people to learn and exercise
I love it I got my back handspring and yeah
My daughter has been going to this gym for years. My experience here has always been pleasant until recently. I paid for a previous session and due to family issues, my daughter missed 2 classes. Previously before I would call and the front desk girl would just reschedule for a make up class. Simple! This last time I called I spoke to Louisa and OMG how rude. She was very persistent on stating that my daughter was not allowed to make up a class because I did not call in advance. I informed her I have medical records and a doctors note stating I was ill. She didnt budge. I was on the phone with her for about 20 minutes. I told her to call me back. 1 hour passes by so I called her. She said she was still looking into it. I asked to speak to her boss. The owner Lana picked up and basically said there was new management and no one enforced the rules before and now they are. She threw it in my face saying that Im costing her money when I miss a class so she shouldnt have to give my daughter a make up class at all. She also added that her employees has families too and they need to get paid as well. I was appalled in how inconsiderable she was. I informed her I was ill and she said they need to make money too. By this time her voice was at a higher pitch and interrupting me as I was speaking. Horrible customer service. I added that because she didnt want to accommodate me for 2 classes, she lost my business completely. Searching for a new gym...not happy with current management. Some places go downhill when management changes and I can assure you, this gym will be losing a lot of business.
I’ve been doing gymnastics at this gym for about 4 years now and I love this gym. I love all the coaches. All the coaches are always willing to help.
As of October 23, 2018, there was a price hike. They make you pay more if you dont pay in advance by a set due date. They WILL NOT due make up sessions if you dont call a day before, you only get one chance. My daughter did not receive the support she needed to learn the flips while others got more attention. My daughter only attended 3 months, but as you can see, the reasons to stop going kept accumulating, until I ran out of patience.
Nice gym for kids! Our son and daughter started to attend RockStar Gymnastics three years ago. They love it! The boy now can make 8-10 pull-ups (he is in 1 grade). People usually think that boys gymnastics is extinct animal, but I see that gymnastics exercises improved his strength, flexibility and discipline, and prepared him for any other sport like soccer or basketball. p.s. They will move to new location in August(?) 2015, but it will not be very far.
Never had a child enrolled here, but i did attend a demonstration at the gym. It appears to be very well equipped, clean, well taken care of, and well ventilated. The children look engaged and confident. You can tell they are actively learning. Impressive show of skill. Lonna seems to truly love what she doea, and it shows. She is present, focused, and always smiling. Shes very much connected to the children. Most importantly, the kids look proud of their work and are all having a blast! At the end of the day, isnt that what matters most? Anyway, when the time comes, i would certainly enroll my child here.
Great experience kids and teenagers love it.
The staff is very friendly caring and very positive my daughter loves the couches! I love the time and attention they all give my daughter the best part is when they accomplish something they show them how proud the are to see them accomplished and make it very exciting for them.
Great Staff, very professional. My daughter Victoria has been attending Rockstar Gymnastics for 5 months and she loves it. I recommend this place to everyone.
McKenzie King Love this place I always recommend this to all my friends. Her coach Ms. Michelle and Ms.Miranda was outstanding performance coach. I do recommend them for being coach.
I go there now and I love it! I went there for a free trial and I was a level 3 team I knew all the skills! I absalutely love it! The coaches are very intact with the students!
Its a great place to start on the world of gymnastics, good service and fast response to any concern. We recomend upgrade the place in order to be more atractive! As parent I have a lot of ideas! work with the community.
I love this place everything is so amazing. Only thing. I wish they would clean the bathroom everyday and put a diaper ginnie to keep the dirty diaper smell away.
For me the teacher will always teach the skinny one no the medium or overweight
Since moving to Otay Mesa Area, I was looking for a new Gymnastics place for my daughter! I originally found Rockstar at their Chula Vista location but have recently moved into a new space On Beyer Blvd which is WAYYYY closer to our home! The coaches are awesome and are very hands-on and helpful with the children. Prices are very fair. The new building is a work in progress and I cant wait when it is done. They offer a free trial class and I am happy we decided to go with Rockstar. One of the great things is they always have performances and meets.
My granddaughter Victoria has been going to rockstar gymnastic for acouple of months now and she loves it. She enjoys the routines and has learned a lot. I would recommend this place to all friends and family.
I did not like it at all it was fun and all but the experience I got was not so good because in level 1 when I went there they teach you a pullover and I tried to do one and they did not help me at all since in school they have bars a girl told me that when she went here they told her to lift her leg up and then do the pullover the coach just kept on smacking my leg when I did that and in the center of bars they would tell you just do pullovers instead of helping they would see me and then just look away and go with another gymnast.
My daughter goes there she love it she knews two more thing to past she love Rockstar she want to said thank the couches who teach her
The staff here are inexperienced with special needs children and one of the instructors made my special needs daughter actually cry. I spoke with the manager that day. At no point, did she offer the opportunity to speak with the particular instructor OR EVEN OFFER AN APOLOGY or ANY UPDATES REGARDING FOLLOW-UP DICUSSION WITH SAID STAFF. MEANING THEY DONT GIVE A DAMN.
The staff is so great with the kids! We have been coming here for over three years.
In love, myn firend kail magown
