Paradise Hills Pony Baseball is a great organization. I have been taking my son there since he was 5, where he played T-Ball. In T-Ball, they hit off a Tee for the first half of the season and then coach pitch in the second half. After T-Ball, he played Pinto (age 7-8). In Pinto, he hit real baseballs off a pitching machine. This allows the players to focus on developing a good swing and keeping the defense engaged. When my son was 8, we moved to Chua Vista Eastlake and participated in other organizations. After seeing other leagues, I went back to Paradise Hills because it provided the best baseball to develop players and was a good environment. Last season, my son played Mustang, age 9-10. In Mustang, they play real baseball, including leading off, stealing, pitching, balks, etc. Thanks to great coaching, my son was able to develop and play in the All-Star tournament. Now that they have open boundaries (anyone for San Diego County), the league has started to grow and improve. Many players from little leagues have been joining Paradise Hills for increased competition or as an alternative from bad coaching. They have two seasons, Spring (March - May) and Fall (Sep - Nov). Their Spring season is larger and more competitive. Their Fall season is smaller and focuses on player development. In the Spring, the younger players (10 and under) play at Penn field, while the older players play at Munda field, which is very nice. In the Fall all games are played at Munda field.
