First time I went was 1998. Ive learned so much about my culture, seen so much truth and beauty, met incredible leaders. There is always something amazing being displayed or presented.
This place might be good if you’ve been invited for an event- but as a visitor dropping in it wasn’t the best. We approached the women working the table and didn’t feel welcome, like it was closed. We had to ask if we could come in and what we could look at, it seemed like they were prepping for an event. Not much to see but there was a photography exhibit in about 20% of the space that was interesting. We were disappointed.
I went to a fundraiser for the Peace and Dignity Run and loved all aspects of it. From seeing one of my favorite films (Smoke Signals), to seeing a log of good friends, eating a delicious dinner and then winning two beautiful American Indian jewelry items in a raffle the entire evening was a delight.
Beautiful space with lovely art and awesome events
I simply loved the atmosphere of todays show thrown here. The murals outside are beautiful. Cant wait to see what else this place has to offer.
This place is open to anyone and everyone!!! I love it here!
Great experience observing the Drum circle. The members of the Native American Church were inviting and most willing to talk about their heritage and culture. The center also has a lot of history and a large, beautiful almost fifty year old mural on the wall.
Centro cultural de la Plaza is a very lovely community driven space, as it lacks funding, it lacks attention, but its wonderful that spaces like this exist and we need to support them. With different art exhibitions every month and a a plethora of events, theres always something to see.
First time here came to celebrate my granddaughter leaving to Michigan State, the murals are impressive had a great time
Small, intimate. Very interesting. Went there for my sisters dance performance.
Cool i guess if you want to host a event at Balboa Park.
A place to visit every 4th Sunday of the month. Theres a tianguis a d great atmosphere.
So cool. The variety of art vendors at the events was nice.
Cool place beautiful artwork
An absolute waste of taxpayer money. Nothing worth seeing, surrounded by homeless people and the smell of urine. Two employees working and no visitors. Consider yourself lucky if you find parking within 30 minutes. Half of the 8-10 art displays depicted murderers like Chè Guevara. Why does this place exist?
It is a nice venue, I attended a holistic event that had a few vendors selling and there was some dancing
One of the most culturally important spaces in this corner of the world.
Music was good and the people were friendly
Good place for your exhibitions. Affordable, casual style. Good veggie food.
Interesting cultural activities
Love this place!
This weekend really rocked because they had a QTPOC celebration of sorts wherein artists showed their work in different mediums. I felt very included, loved and supported. The organizers of the QTPOC Colectivo are amazing people who work hard to make sure our community has a voice. The music was bumpin, the different styles of art I got to witness was beautiful, the people happy, smiling, laughing and welcoming. Will most definitely visit again!
My parents took a picture here, back in the 80s. This place is home to me.
