Great place to bring a board and just cruise the waves or to park and go for a run on the beach trail. North beach has always served the communities of Orange County as a whole very well. Might be a little rocky in some areas but good place to go for a bonfire as well.

Clean bathroom, outside shower, sandy bottom with a small trench at the beginning. Slightly rocky beach.... golf ball size rocks in the sand. Snack bar in summer time. Dont leave things unattended here, there are many homeless people living in the bushes near the railroad tracks.

Parking lot and the beach are not so crowded as Oceanside, which is good to keep a safety distance. Also there is a trail to hike or jog, just be aware that on weekends there might be many peope using the trail, other than that, North Beach is a great place to enjoy the water and relax in a safety environment.

It wouldnt be the beach where I set up camp for the day. Although if I did, theres easy parking, nearby bathrooms, a playground for kids, and benches for eating. I just prefer the beaches further south, personal preference. Instead its the beach where I park and walk the trail to the pier and back. And farther if you want. Trail access is right there in the parking lot. It gets crowded sometimes but its a great place to get some fresh air, exercise, & take in the view.

Busy beach, difficult to get near sandy areas, lots of rock beachfront, ocean dropoff deep at beach, limited parking, lots of people, very few wear masks or social distance.

Superb beach in the midway while traveling from San Diego to Los Angeles. It is very near from the highway and also there is rail line of Pacific Surfliners. This is very silent beach. You can spend whole evening here. The shore has sand as well as stones area. Thats why you can easily walk and sit on the shore.Beach people should definitely visit this place.

This is hidden unless you know it’s there. It’s a metrolink train station but if you walk the trail on the left. You will find a beautiful access to the beach that’s not overly crowded. This takes you to the San Clemente Pier but it’s maybe 3 miles long. Parking is only $.75 per hour.

Not sure that I loved this beach. But it is an important beach to visit. This place needs to be in your visual library because of what it symbolizes. The privileged. The disenfranchised. Boarders. Hope. Despair.....There is the Bullring. The beacon. The Wall. There is also the antithesis of how the American percieved property value as compared with the Mexican. Fascinating logic really.

The entrance to this Beach had large piles of what looked like river rock between us and the water. The beach itself has lots of little rocks and the sand appears to sink under your feet quite dramatically in many areas. But, the views along the beach are quite nice and the water wasnt quite as cold as Northern California beaches.

I want to love this beach because of its easy access, swings, and slide right on the sand. However, there are always homeless people sleeping on the floor by the bathrooms and smoking which makes it a sketchy area for children. I thought smoking wasnt allowed at the beach??? North Beach really used to be a great beach. I think out of nostalgia I give it three stars. I’ll give San Clemente and Orange County Sheriffs credit; they’ve been trying hard to clean it up. There are just a lot of homeless people here, and the restroom facilities are a stinky, sticky mess. While it’s still a good beach, fun and a good spot in my opinion to do a little easy surfing if the tide is right, it is still pretty beat up nowadays.

My husband and I have had the pleasure of living in North Beach for the past three years. Sadly, we are moving and heading back to Southern California but North Beach has become our second home. If you are an international traveler or a local that needs to spice up your life then this is the place you must come to. From Cafe Trieste to U.S. Restaurant there are so many, many wonderful places that you will want to revisit time and again. I have loved it here, however, today after cleaning out my cupboards to prepare to move I took food over to the North Beach Citizens non-profit food pantry. I love this neighborhood even more. They recently had their annual spring dinner with Francis Ford Coppola hosting as Honorary Chair. The staff welcomed me and were so very thankful for the food that I donated. It made my heart sing with joy for the wonderful neighbors I have had. Donate to this fine establishment that provides food for the homeless and hungry. Namaste.
