Paul was amazing and the prices were more than fair. I was in search of a used board and after I found out I could get a custom for a little more I was sold. I described my ability level and what I was looking for and his expertise dialed in a perfect board for me. The best of all is that is the artwork is unique and means something to me.

Paul Carter has made two custom shaped boards for me with custom art and I am extremely happy with both. The first board was a 10 foot nose riding with a design of my choice. It came out great and is a perfect board for San O. I then hired Paul to make me a 8’6” board with custom shape and custom art design. It’s truly a one of a kind board with one of a kind art. It rides like a dream and is the perfect board for Trails and other in between breaks. Very happy with both my boards!

My wife and I have now been riding the initial boards Paul Carter made for us for over seven years. From San Clemente to Alaska to the Olympic Peninsula where we live now, they’ve performed remarkably well—and have miraculously held up. Considering the quality of craftsmanship and the genuinely fun experience we always have working with Paul, we simply won’t buy boards from anyone else at this point.

Paul shaped a board for my wife after she rode one of his other boards off the rack. It was easy to work with Paul and his expert packing ensured it made it to Hawaii ding free. Mahalos Paul! The board itself is a work of art and if it didnt ride so well wed probably keep it on the wall.

Paul takes the time to get to know the style of his clients. He recently shaped a custom board for my daughter and involved her in the whole process. Additionally, he took the time to add personal artistic details that she loves. We would highly recommend him if youre thinking of purchasing a board tailor made to your surfing needs.

Paul has been shaping me a board about every 18 month for over 2 decades and I have never been disappointed. Not that I needn’t a board that often, just enjoy working with Paul. To say he is a great shaper is an understatement, he is a true craftsman. He is a good listener and offers great guidance. We talk through how and where I want to use the board, and I trust him to do the thinking. Pure perfection, never a drag mark in the foam, boards have always out-surfed me. Happened to be in San Clemente and thought we would check out the local surfshops, and stumbled upon Surfboards and Art, seriously the coolest boards I have seen anywhere, all hand airbrushed, and the owner was there to talk story with us. We walked out with a bunch of gifts, some surf wall art, and a very cool knit hand made by a local in San Clemente. We will be back again for sure!
