Awesome place. The staff are friendly and helpful. Not much to see inside as most of the part is under restoration. But the surrounding of the main church is beautiful. There is a gift shop inside the compound which has some interesting collection. There is also a portion dedicated to sculptures. The short movie they play is closed due to Covid. There are information placards around to give information on new findings in the long barracks.

Had a Good Time(though the weather was ugly, raining) we still tried to have a decent experience which it didnt seem to bother the Kids. We booked online in a week advance walked up scanned phone and was allowed into the church area where some Alamo Guides were very informative and explained certain things to the Kids while, I did my own reading. Overall experience was very informative, looking to go back but without the rain next time. Hopefully

I always make it a point to visit The Alamo when I am in San Antonio, and it never disappoints. A lot if construction going on right now, but when you figure the reduced capacity thanks to COVID restrictions, its pretty smart.I look forward to seeing The Alamo again next time I am in town.

Dont even bother. Go to the Historic National Park 10 minutes away. Its significantly more beautiful and you can get junior ranger badges for free for the kids. The Alamo literally is 60% gone (the fort walls used to be where the shops across the street are) and the only part thats left is a tourist trap. The only reason it gets two stars is because they offer a free ticket option. Its the saddest excuse for an attraction Ive ever seen. Read about the Alamo story on Wikipedia. It will be more rewarding.

Historical gem, should not be missed. The scientists are working hard trying to save the structure, as time is slowly taking her back. This is such a tremendous part of American history for all. Make it part of your bucket list. It is free, but need appointment to enter the church for free. The paid tour will take you in also, which is nice if you prefer.

Ignoring the chintzy surrounding area, the Alamo is a famous historical site well-worth the visit. No photography allowed inside the mission out of respect for those who perished all those years ago, but the outside can be photographed just on a side note. It has gone through several restorative efforts, which show as it is pretty well-kept. The landscaping outside is really cool, with a very large live oak and palms and other xeriscaping. Right in downtown, just a few paces away from the Riverwalk, if youre in San Antonio, you should definitely visit, cheers.

My kids loved the tour. The street is under construction so I dont recommend driving the route. Park in a parking garage and walk or rent one if the motorized sit or stand on scooters- those are always SO much fun! You cant take them inside The Alamo outside perimeter, but you can park them, lock them, and they will be there for you when you finish your tour so you can continue your ride to site see your other interests.

Honestly, was a bit disappointing. Thought that a lot more of original site would have been preserved. Church was the main thing left. A lot of work to exhibits going on. Parking was a bit tricky in this area to find so leave extra time for that.

The gardens a pleasant enough and well maintained. The koi pond, while a nice touch, is suspect in its authenticity to the time when the facilities were in use.The iconic stone facade is impressive to behold with the naked eye yet one can’t help but feel it could use a coat of paint. The Alamo only allows 75 people every half hour into the church. However, even if you dont get tickets the free part is worth going to. My favorite exhibit was the living history exhibit. Actor historians dressed up in period costumes that tell historical stories as you walk around the courtyard. The statues of famous people involved with the Alamo and there stories was interesting. Much smaller than I thought it would be, and much of the original Alamo mission is gone, as I recall, only 2 original buildings remain. If you are a history buff then by all means go. There was a small museum of military items that I did enjoy. They are currently following Covid-19 safety measures, so be sure to get tickets online to confirm that you can actually enter the site.
