My daughter is on her school basketball team and this is a great addition to her school practice. They also hold some specialty clinics on weekends and holidays. She just attended the ball handling clinic and got a lot out of it and will definitely attend more specialty clinics in the future.

Spartan Basketball is a phenomenal program! Im an active duty military member; I was in search of a trainer to help prepare me for the Armed Forces Basketball Camp/Tournament. Ive only been working with Coach Layton for a few months and not only has my game & confidence improved tenfold but the professionalism and dedication make this program a leap above the rest. My grandson started working with Tim about a year ago. He came to Tim with good basic skills but just needed to develop confidence and fine tune his skills. Tim has such a Godly way of coaching; interacting and developing each student at their own point of need. I’ve worked with Tim, was his athletic director, hired him to coach at my school and kept him on staff all 6 years I was there. Sent my own children to his camps. Watched him grow and develop as a person, a coach, a husband, a father and as a Christian. High class program run by a high character individual. My daughter worked with Tim and the Spartan Basketball organization for several years before heading to college with a full basketball scholarship. Tim was able to see her potential and bring out the best in her. My daughter always worked hard, but for Tim she worked even harder because she trusted him and his process. My daughter has worked with Tim for several years now with the Legends club team as well as private training and clinics. Tim is a great coach and trainer. We have had exposure to several programs here in SA and would recommend him (and have) over and over again. One of the things that has impressed me the most about Tim is how well he deals with teenagers. He has the patience of Job. My daughter has said more than once that Tim is “one of my favorite people on earth”.I also feel the need to address the racial issue. My daughter had coaches and trainers from all backgrounds and races. He has, and continues to have, clients that he trains from all ethnic backgrounds so they clearly have no issue with Tim. I find those type of allegations particularly frustrating and unfounded, not to mention cowardly as the person chose to not use their name.Tim is clearly dedicated to helping his kids and clients become better basketball players, as well as better human beings.

I’ve been knowing Coach Tim Springer since around 2010, and he has been nothing but professional. His camps were a spark for my daughter who is now playing basketball in college. His first meeting with her was the most honest and genuine evaluation she had ever had from a coach. She didn’t like hearing the truth but she appreciated every word he said. Coach Springers words spoke to her heart and created a fire inside of her. Over the years she continued to work with Spartan and up until her last days of summer vacation she was training with her Spartan family. I’ve been to many camps and have watched many coaches, and I must say that Spartan is one of my favorites. I’m stingy with my recommendations because I feel that if I vouch for someone and they don’t give top notch service then it’s my name out there as well. But Spartan gets my Stamp Of Approval, everyday all day. Coach Tim and his staff are AWESOME!

Tim Springer is one of the best coaches Ive ever encountered. As someone who covers the South Texas High School sports scene, and has for the past 20 years, I would trust him with my kids, nieces, nephews, and anyone else. Keep doing great things, Tim!

My daughter was coached by and been around Tim Springer more then 4 years. I have watched many many training sessions and games, watched him work with his club teams, his skills sessions etc. Besides the knowledge of the sport this man offers his integrity, his passion for life lessons ........I would trust this man 100%. Some of the negative comments I have read are some of the most outrageous things I have ever read.This mans passion for his work is tops and his staff I have met over the years are awesome people.

We started with Coach Tim when he was trying to build the program up so we were there from the get-go! my daughter was only about six years old when she went and loved every minute of it!! his patience and persistence and teaching ability is like none other! she learned more going to one camp then she did the whole season at school. Coach Tim is an amazing coach with a ton of experience! Our daughters have been training with him for 3 years and I have seen a total difference in their game! They are getting college looks! Tim asks the girls to send him footage and he bases his training on what he sees in the film! I don’t know any other coach in SA that does that! Invest in Spartan you won’t regret it! Thank you coach Tim for believing in the twins!I also feel the need to address the racist comments: I am not quite sure why the reviewer would leave such an untrue statement on Tim, I have never heard a racist comment come out of his mouth and he treats all his kids the same! He is the epitome of believeing in all children!

The Spartan Basketball program as a whole, as well as the owner, have been nothing short of amazing for my daughter. Up until an injury set back, she learned more from the Spartan program in a few short months than she had throughout her middle school/freshman career....and throughout recovery has worked with her to get her in a position to be ready to come back. They push hard, and have high expectations for players on and off the court. I would want nothing less for my daughter.

First Impression. Met with staff once but decided on something closer to home. Looking to make the commitment and travel the distance based on First Impression and commitment Tim and staff shows to the game of Basketball.

I have read some pretty crappy stuff about Tim and Spartan Basketball. I have known Tim 15 years when he coached my daughter in first grade. She now is a senior in college playing college basketball. She has had some great traders and coaches who got her where she is today. Tim is one of those who helped her reach her goal. He is nothing but professional and cares for everyone he trains and coaches. It really makes me sick when something doesnt go the way a parent wants - then they decide to trash him and his training. It goes to show how childish the parent can be. To those that feel the need to trash him all I have to say is if your not happy with the trading or the growth of your child - you can go else where and maybe your child needs to work harder on their own and apply what they have learned when the trainer isnt there. I can guarantee one thing - when I have grandkids and they wanna play basketball I will call Tim for help developing them.

Tim I wouldn’t waste my time responding to each of the racial comments it’s clearly the same person from Facebook that has said they are going to sue you but have been with you for 10 years, and or maybe that other kid that “creates phone apps” as you all can tell by their bogus names, flip the switch and screen shot all the negative things by the person on here and on Facebook and use them for harassment clearly they are harassing you and your livelihood! But for those of you that are taking the time to read the reviews I myself, my husband and my 3 children are HISPANIC, and have been sending our boys with Tim for years now, he is a great person to be around, he has treated us with nothing but RESPECT since we first met him! We’ve taken my nephew numerous times to his camps which by the way is black and he too has been treated the same, my boys and nephew loves their camps and them! Tim and his staff are awesome, and we will continue to use them and refer them to EVERYONE we know!

Tim Springer is my neighbor. Please be aware when dealing with this man. He appears very nice in the beginning, & then he flips a switch. The coaching staff is nice, but TIM the owner is a rude, & disrespectful person. I would NEVER send my kid to ANY of his camps.

My daughter has grown more confident since she started back in march/april thanks to coach layton and the coaching staff at spartan. They understand when kids have their off days and have a way to bring them up. If i did not like the way they operated I would have never recommended my close friends and family to take their kids there. My daughter still has lots to learn and 9th grade high school tryouts are right around the corner but with spartan she will be okay...

Tim is an amazing trainer and will take your childs game to new a whole new level. Thanks again Tim!
