Great place with family, kids. Lake has some big turtles, nice view and nice walking trail.

We walked around. Lots of little ducks to feed. Paddle boats, zoo and Mining for kiddos. You can hike even ride ur bikes around the trails of the little lake. Bathrooms okay. Lots of neat stuff to do and History too

Its clean with all kinds of animals to see. Great place to take the kids! The bears and eagles were our favorite.

Always a pleasure to take my little family for stroll around this park. This park theme but with a site of nature that helps ny boys explore more about nature. From ducks to pond turtles, along with guppies to bass fish. LOVE IT!!!

Good fun with the family. We saw bears, red wolfs, foxes, snakes, owls, and other amazing animals. Such a great value for the money paid. We would love to come here again and again.The staff is so friendly and educational.

It was a beautiful day and school was closed so I thought I would take my kids to the park . They had a ball. The only problem was their was no where to get refreshments. Everything that sold refreshments or tickets closed at 1. So we left earlier than planned and went to pelican bay

Love Dan Nicholas Park. Have been bringing my kids here the past 20 years. Wonderful staff, fun attractions. Train, carosoul, gem mine, petting zoo, wild life habitats, playground and more.

Most things inside the park are currently closed but it is still a nice place to go walk.

I love the animals, but some of them looked so sad and there habitats where not big enough. My grandson loved the bears.

A lot of the animal attractions are empty, there arent signs directing you to the various things to see or do, I asked for help and the young lady at the train ticket booth pointed thru the wAll a direction to walk in.!!

This is a pretty cool place when keeping in mind that you get what you pay for. My family of 4 only costs $10. They had several animals there to observe and the kids really enjoyed it.

This is a great opportunity to see some of the wildlife native to our area. I love that they feature mostly injured and rehabilitated wildlife that cant survive in the wild. It makes the enclosures a place of safety and nurturing rather than keeping healthy animals trapped. On my recent visit, quite a few habitats were closed and unoccupied... I think some renovations were occurring which is good, but our students were disappointed. We spent the entire day there and it was a great experience.

We loved this place. The area was beautiful, a lot of great places to rent a covered area with picnic tables. The perfect spot for family reunions, birthday parties, school field trips, or just a family outing. They have a small zoo area (it needs a lot of work- sadly, the water was dirty, the enclosures were neglected, and many exhibits were empty). They do have a very nice playground with a small putt-putt golf course. The only thing that was missing, besides several animals, were more directional signs.

Clean, well maintained park. Realized too late that that the attractions closed at 4, but there is time left in the season to return and use the tickets. My grandson really enjoyed the animal exhibits and the playgrounds.

We had a great time here. We spent a few hours and really enjoyed it. There were several school children, but the place was not over crowded. Plenty of activities for everyone. Very affordable too. For just a few dollars per person you can enjoy everything! And you really dont have to spend any money here to enjoy the place. There are plenty of free activities to occupy you and your little ones. The location is not too far from any big city so the drive is worth it.

I havent been inside in a few years, but was fishing in the pond next to the reserve. It was very hauntingly beautiful to hear the wolves howling at dusk. Next time Im in the park during the day Ill be sure to go down into the actual wildlife area ... Last time it was fun to see the animals.

I really enjoyed taking my little one to see these amazing creatures. He was so curious about the bears and the chickens! Im glad he was able to actually see the animals close enough to learn to truely appreciate their beauty.

Send Dan Nicholas Park in Rowan County North Carolina this is a great place to take the family theyve got an awesome campground to its not expensive the train ride the petting zoo and all runs around $8 per person so you can go out there and have picnics and have a great time I highly recommend this place.

The kids were able to ride the carousel, the train, see animals, and play at the splash park. They had fun day. It was really hot, but enjoyable.

Great for a walk or kids on the jungle gym and everything you need for a BBQ or birthday party but, we had a guy approach us about reservations so maybe you should call ahead. But we had a great time and they have BATHROOMS!! ☆☆☆☆☆

Pretty cool park

I always love to go here and take my family. The prices are cheap and its a great place to spend time outdoors, see some wildlife, and pack a lunch to eat in the shade of the wooded area. The workers are friendly and the place is clean.

We enjoy the park. We love being able pet the animals at the barn. Everything is affordable, all the attractions are $1.00 or less. The snack foods is good too. They have a big playground for children. A must place to visit.

Half the exhibits were empty, all the visible animals were in the shade trying to stay cool. The turtles, the bears, and the owls were my favorites. There was a baby owl missing an eye, but he was the cutest!!

Best value for your money. Entrance is free and all entertainment is very reasonably priced. Even souvenirs are moderately priced. Take a picnic lunch to enjoy on a blanket under shade trees or at one of the tables. Carousel, train and paddle boat rides for only a couple of dollars, a little zoo, a splash pad for the babies and kids, playground, so much to do. It is an enjoyable walk around the perimeter of the lake with plenty of wildlife to spot, such as native cranes, turtles, water snakes, fish, frogs, etc. We love this place.

Our first time there. We had such a great time. Couldnt see everything so we must go back.

My wife, son and myself had a wonderful time. This place took me back to my childhood when mining for gems. This is a very family-oriented place. My son love the slash pad and seeing the turtles which is his favorite. Will be going back soon.

Great playground right near the Rowan Wildlife Adventure. We were there on Monday. The online status shows open for Rowan Wildlife Adventure. But apparently they are CLOSED. Disappointed.

Because they dont have enough staff to run this place, so yesterday everything was closed except the herpetarium. Why dont they have enough staff? The place was almost deserted, but Google said it was open. Every person we passed said they had looked everywhere and nothing was open except see above.

Dan Nicholas Park is great. I do wish the visitors would stop littering so much. I always pick up trash every visit. Its sad.

My granddaughter had a great time. So glad we got to see the bears too. Eagles are always a favorite!

A great little zoo, much bigger than I expected (especially for the price!). The animals have nice enclosures, big enough for them to roam a little, but not so big that you dont get to see them. Plus, did I mention the price? Certainly worth the $1 you pay.

Dan Nicholas park is so nice & affordable. The only thing I feel like that needs improvement are the bathrooms. They are a little yuck & I have been here several times & the bathrooms are always nasty.
