Great track, well run by friendly crew. Net downhill means more pumping and less pedaling.

The track at Manzanita BMX is very well taken care of and groomed/cleaned regularly. Paved turns and a smooth rhythm section mixed in with the doubles and a fast downhill grade make it one of my favorite tracks in Nor Cal.

This is by far the best BMX track in the state. The track manager only allows riding when the track is dry and it is maintained impeccably. It is a down sloped track that is very smooth and is very fast with asphalt turns. The track has loaner bikes and helmets for new riders to use for free. (*Note they require all riders to wear a long sleeve shirt and any form of long pants, sweat pants, riding pants etc. for rider safety).Manzanita Park BMX has a very friendly family environment with a range of riders from 2 years old to 50 years old and you cant beat the snack shack prices. A bottle of Gatorade for a dollar. Candy bars $1.00, grilled cheese sandwiches are only $2.00 etc. You can feed the whole family without breaking the bank.Best of all is that everyone in attendance is friendly and especially helpful to new riders. You often see the more advanced riders taking laps with new riders giving them pointers and helping them to get started in the sport. This is my familys favorite BMX race track in California.

I rented horses to a group of 45 kids and their chaperones. To experience the wonderment of one of natures most beautiful animals. These kids were from Chicago on a field trip, exploring the West Coast. There were at least 300 other children playing baseball that day. I was taking 7 riders at a time on their rented horses.I was instructing them for free and to make sure they were safe. Upon returning to where we were set up to get the next 7 hopeful riders, I was accosted by an overzealous, short statured man in flip flops baggy unkempt shorts. Driving an official Monterey County truck, with two raggity dogs that fit the same description, without the shorts of course on his lap. He came up to me and in front of all the kids commenced with a barrage of accusations starting with we were trespassing in a public park. He went on to say that these children had no right to be in this public park and I had no right to rent them horses either. The history of this park in fact was left as open space, by the deceased owner specifically for horses. Well either way he threatened us with the police, and even though I told him to call them, the chaperones were so intimidated by this man that they chose to forego their horseback experience and left the park. I would never recommend a place that employs such a man in another obvious abuse of power by So-called government officials which this small misguided county employee claimed to represent, while driving an official county vehicle. No it is not a good place to bring your children. There are many other places that are more accommodating and tranquil just down the road...
