Round 1 is a great place to hangout with a few buddies and to have a wonderful time. I personally love the dance machine Dancerush Stardom for the players to make up their freestyle dance moves. I just highly recommend the rhythm games if you in music games.
So, I generally go to Round 1s to play rhythm games. For food and such, it is pricey, but the ice cream is good. Most machines are generally well maintained and the techs are pretty quick to respond to issues. Another thing is the AC. Its not that great, especially if youre playing DDR or Dance Rush. Either improve the AC or put a fan near those machines.
Drinks, food, and games all overpriced. The club card is not attached to a number so make sure you dont forget it at home, otherwise no discount. If your doing the by time rentals make sure you start right away, otherwise youre cutting into your own time.Once they take your payment your time starts running. If i ever come back here i will ask for the billiards balls ahead of time, pay cash and run to my billiards table. That way no time will be taken away from what i am actually paying forFirst time coming here was a somewhat pleasant experience.Second time around not so much. For bowling prices i would rather stick to the Boardwalk bowl in Santa Cruz and the beach is right across the street.
This place is fun! Its cool that they have different sections of different types of arcade games! For me I like rhyme games call dancerush stardom! And its cool that they have a bowling alley there even food. But just be careful how much money you waste.
Even tho not all games are open its still fun love taking my kids there the games are a bit pricy but still fun.
I visited this place over the weekend and during the week. Its a lot less crowded during the week. Staff are generally helpful and friendly. Lines are long during the weekends and it takes forever to bowl and to get food. Bring lots of patience to deal with the loud environment. Also, they dont allow outside food, just drinks like Starbucks and small snacks.
This place is great!! It has a ton of fantastic arcade games, billiards, karaoke rooms, party rooms, a bowling alley, burgers, pizza, and appetizers, and it looked like they sell beer and wine! The staff is polite and attentive, which is scarce in Salinas. The games all worked and it was clean inside. This is a fun addition to Salinas. Lets hope you keep up the great work and also keep the riff raff out.
DO NOT COME HERE!! It is a health hazard!!!Employees are showing up sick! I seen employees sneezing and coughing multiple times! And not to mention the kid that was wiping down the games used the same rag on multiple games. Please be smart and dont bring your children around that cesspool of filth.
Bowling manager embarrassed us and kicked us out of our game of bowing because we had 2 people too many. Beyond unprofessional and made racial comments toward us. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!
Fun games. Time-play is a great option if you like the old school arcade games. Only one hand dryer in the otherwise large bathroom.
Horrible service! Reserved a party here and they were not ready when we got here. Food was not ready. They didn’t even compensate us for our time. So when we went a second time, they don’t honor other round 1 cards so be prepared to purchase another card and start all over! Personnel was rude even though I was asking valid questions. Please be up front before people purchase their cards that it won’t work at other round 1 locations!
Lots of fun. Priced fairly well. There are credit and time play options. Lots of different games and party package options.
It is closed will give it more stars if it was opened still closed even on 9/28Still closed and too lazy to update their hours 10/02Still too lazy to change it to closed 10/8Still closed 10/13Guess what still closed 10/18Not open 11/11Good news they are now being honest 11/17I was wrong they’re still closed and lazy to their google page 11/23
VERY HOT AND THEY ARE NOT SELLING ANYTHING TO DRINK AT ALL!!!
Best place for just a fun quick hang or the best birthday party ever! Good for all ages.
Go after 10 so you can avoid the kids. Its just a cool place to indulge your snack cravings and chill out. Try the Cajun Fries with the Honey mustard.
Worst bowling alley Ive ever seen! There is absolutely no oil whatsoever. I requested a refund and they said ok asked for my receipt and said they would refund me and 2 days later no credit to my card. Called and asked for the manager that was extremely rude and she said they wouldnt refund me. Dont waste your time or money.
Great time if ur a teen or to take ur gf or family place to pass n chill with love ones
I frequent this arcade with a group of friends. We tend to spend most of our time in the rythm game section, and it helps that we have a basic grasp on the Japanese language. Quite a few of the cabinets are not translated and take some time to figure out, however most patrons are very friendly and willing to explain the basic mechanics of the games. Many of the cabinets are priced fairly and I can get a good hour or so of gameplay on a single charge of $20 (with a club membership card). It is difficult to grab the attention of an employee for assitance on the claw machines, but I usually take a picture of the machine, go to the front desk, and they send someone to give me my prize. You also have to go to the front desk to ask for the drumsticks to the Guitadora Drummania game; they will ask for your ID to hold until you return the sticks.I dont recommend this arcade if you have guests with sensitivity to noise or flashing lights. I would also advize for anyone to bring a small bottle of hand sanitizer and headphones for the rythm games.
I took my special education class here to sing karaoke at 1030. A little after they closed the mens bathroom for 20 mins and my male students were completely uncomfortable to have to hold it. Then when my co worker went to use the bathroom the womens was closed, the unisex bathroom didnt lock and when my desperate coworker went to the mens to go to the bathroom an employee yelled down the hall you cant go in there and turned to other employees to talk about what my co worker did which made her feel very uncomfortable on top of feeling helpless needing to relieve herself. I went to the bathroom a few mins later, the bathroom still closed I asked the manager where I should go. When I tried to explain to the manager how much of an inconvenience this is she didnt even look at me, which very much comes off that she didnt care. Then to makes matters inconceivable, the manager came to me and asked what happened and said to me that that wasnt the story he got as if I was lying. Then he said that it was a cleanliness thing that is why they shut down the bathrooms every hour. I work at a school, so yeah I am fully aware of cleaning the bathrooms every hour, which does not require a shut down of the bathroom! He then told me that the unisex bathroom does lock even though it looks broken. I told him that there should be signs to help customers know use this bathroom and reassure that it does lock. I have special education students that need privacy. But instead of trying to make it right with my group of people he wanted to make sure that they were in the right for making my coworker feel uncomfortable, and showing no respect to me when I had a concern. They made it clear it was more important for them to be right than to make the situation right.I plan on contacting corporate, inhale worked on customer service for 15 years prior to this and know that this is not the way to keep customers. Know that i didnt ask for anything, manager came to me just to tell me they are right for lack of signs, respect, and professionalism.
Good, friendly service. And the random bowling challenges they have make your match more intense and more fun.
Really nice and helpful employees always have a smile on their faces and theyre great with kids!
Jeff kitchen manager...and Tony did a great job..my first time here with the family...keep up the good work.
We were really excited to spend a family evening blowing and enjoying some pizza and wings but I was really disappointed when I found out that the kitchen close early. It was barely 8 pm on a Saturday night it said that they close at 2 am and I was hopping to see the kitchen open at least till 10 or 11 pm than we try to at least get sodas for the kids but not even that we could get. We ask for water and they couldnt give us water either. Very sad that this happen to me and my family.
Had a great time there with my daughter and her friends.
There is a lot more arcade games than I had initially thought they would have. The people working were proficient and helpful. Clean establishment that contains a heahy mixture of adults and kids
As a massive karaoke and arcade fan, I had high hopes for this place. Id just purchased a karaoke room to test out, when they threw me out for having a service animal. Despite the fact that I went through months of training and paperwork to certify my dog, they claimed she wasnt a service animal. I got my refund and I wont ever be going back. They just lost a customer who was willing to spend a lot of money on repeat visits and the business of my friends.
Its a fun place for the kids they got beer on tap but its a little pricey. Not many options like this in Salinas.
Love this place brings back the arcade and it has the best shopping mall pizza ever.
Had a great time w my brothers we loved the pool tables and the food court is bomb delicious pizzas fries
I come here nearly every weeknight to play Dance Dance Revolution. This arcade dedicates real resources to their machine upkeep, and it shows. I have rarely had issues with arrows not working on dance pads, and networked machines finally allow access to updated song lists and the global leaderboards which the American DDR community has sorely lacked for years. When a machine is broken, it is back up and running in, at most, a couple of days, and sometimes as soon as 15 minutes. Even the best arcades 15 years ago couldnt promise this level of care for their games.Price-wise, if youre paying $40 for 212 credits, youre paying about $1.20 per set, with each set having 3 songs plus a possible bonus round (212 credits ÷ 6.4 credits per set = 33.125 sets; $40 ÷ 33.125 sets = $1.207 per set). Certainly a far-cry from the days of paying $2.50 in quarters at the nearest boardwalk or other tourist trap, but R1 makes up for it by charging far more for the claw machines, racing games, etc.Based on the Yelp reviews, security is pretty strict about who they let in (if you pre-gamed hard before coming here, they might turn you away--its ultimately a family-oriented attraction, after all), though I have never had an issue with security or staff, all of whom are professional and courteous. Theyll check you at the door, but again, its mostly to ease the minds of people who bring their young kids here, most of whom are gone before 9 PM. I dont buy any of the food or drinks, but I think they list prices on their website if you need to check before coming. As I said, Im here literally every weeknight trying to get good at DDR, and Round1 has made that about as economical as it can be short of buying my own DDR cabinet, and with no downtime for repairs--three cabinets pretty much guarantees this. Crowds are generally nonexistent-to-manageable Monday through Friday nights, though I dont go on weekends, so Saturday and Sunday might be different. If youre deep into the Japanese arcade scene, or just the gaming scene in general, R1 is an oasis in normie country. That being said, it can feel like youre being penalized for not knowing Japanese on some of these games--this really isnt your fathers arcade.
Premium pricing for lackluster experience. For the amount they expect you to pay to play ticket games you would think this place was Disneyland. Dont be fooled; employees, when you can find one, are no much help. Most recent visit kids got a jackpot but machine did not pay out. Only way they would honor is if you had video proof, so make sure and bring a body cam if you want that sweet sweet finger trap and jawbreaker from the ticket counter. Its not as though they could check the machines audit log to see it had registered a payout. If you manage to win some tickets, dont expect them to honor the prices posted. On a recent trip an item advertised for 600 tickets was no longer available at that price point. They denied an 10 year old a prize because they were too lazy to update the price of the prizes and pointed to a tiny sign indicating prices subject to change. Wow, what an awesome business model, lets charge whatever we want regardless of the price on the shelf. Pretty sure this is not legal in California, although maybe there is a ticket loophole. The manager finally agreed to give the prize at the posted price, but only because an adult brought it up, they were happy to send the kids packing without a prize.
It was amazing I definitely recommend going there its super fun and interesting me and my daughter and her friend had so much fun 5 STAR
Great Family place before 8:30pm. So much to do and its nice and clean. The plain fried Chicken wings were amazing!!! Pizza is ok, lots of dough.
Food sucks so bad my pizza was cold. There was no dipping sauces to go with the buffalo wings which were dry. The bar area is a mess huge line to get one beer. The games are the only fun thing so if you come to drink and eat this is definitely not the place is the worse.
Great but pricey. A pretty penny 604.43$ to be exact.
So the place was awesome! I love that they have a lounging area for bowling instead of chairs. The place is super safe. They have a lot of security and have police inside. They check you and your stuff before you come in. It’s on a second floor. They have sooo many arcade games. Anime and Japanese ones too! And so many crane machines. The only bad thing is since there just starting they always run out of food. Like no pizza, no wings, only burgers and fries. I had a great time and would love to go back. The price for bowling is cheaper than the Boardwalk Bowl but the food is better there. Hope they get better food.
Delicious buffalo wings and really nice looking bowling alleys!
This was a third stop of my trip of Bay area round ones. The only one I was ever frisked at and belittled by their rental security just for wanting to come in.Dont plan on using the escalator, walk your happy hindquarters up!Upon entering this one was the only arcade to be fully operational with figurine games, you can pick any figurine. We decided to use what credits we had left on our card, only to find out they were on a different system. So Im at 3 strikes and I havent even got to play a game. When we figure it out that we had to buy a new membership just to play at the arcade, disappointed we were. The manager said that she would waive the fee.So we loaded our new cards with $100 each. Confirming that everything was good I went to go play my game.Got two figurines and after that I was content. Finally completed a set and the other was for a buddy. I think its awesome to have places like this where you can pretty much go shopping for gifts, while enjoying yourself at the same time. But the enjoyment factor was not there for me. My buddy on the other hand wasnt having so much luck either, so we decided to use whatever credits we had left to just get plushies. Oh yeah staff was super nice and always right around the corner. All in all I learned that if there were that many barriers in our way, we should have just turned and walked away. But thats life and it Gamble! Not sure if we will come back. As a reminder these people you frisk, are paying customers that deserve respect. Also my buddies a disabled vet and having him take the stairs was so inconvenient and disrespectful.
They were out of water bottles but they don’t allow you to bring your own in. I was so thirsty I had to leave...the games were fun but not as many as San Jose! Hopefully it gets better!
Second time comming to this establishment and have had both negative experiences.Employees are not well trained and have little to no experience with customer service. Employees seem clueless with their occupation. One instance I had is with an employee named Ruby. I had to confirm with her four times that I just wanted two ice cream cones with one scoop. She was trying to multi task by talking to her manger about her getting her break and her asking me what I wanted again. It was so frustrating because she couldn’t count my change back after I gave her a hundred $ bill. The second instance is with the kiosk at the entrance; where signs are posted; showing the prices for credits. I gave the machine 40 dollars thinking I would get 205 credits but was only given 190. I thought I was being cheated, so I went to the counter to only find out you can only get that deal at the desk. I even spoke with the manager to ask for those couple credits. And he refused because it’s a done deal. There’s no fine print or a sign saying you could only get those specific deals at the desk..Very frustrated with this establishment. Employees need to learn customer service appreciation. And signs need to be put up in fine print that you can only get certain deals at the kiosk.
Great fun place I just think prices a little to high
Wow, what a great arcade. Hundreds of arcade games, 20 bowling lanes and they serve beer and wine. Great place for the kids to get lost in for hours.
We arrived around 6pm on a Friday. No line to get in. We got in line for the bowling and we were next. Three employees were standing in front of us at the register and none of the 3 acknowledged us for about 3 minutes, not even to let us know they would be right with us. Food: they were out of 2 flavors of icecream by 730pm and the fries with the seasoning you can add yourself was not enough to cover the fries and they were out of ranch. Also they only have 1 register for food; they need more registers. Bowling was fun, everything is new.
Fun! Fun! FUN!! Despite the crowd of people, our group was still able to stay together and have a good time!
Not a place I would go back to the staff is not well trained and when looking at the food prices they were pretty high. Honestly prefer the one in San Jose it’s much bigger than the one they have here.
Omg I had so much fun. Much needed fun . Oh and Im 36
It was nice but im still here
Games area and bowling are great.. food customer service some of them are cool but there a couple that need classes on customer service
OMG its huge in there. Lots of games and family friendly
Great place safe lots of security . Great bowling too. Eat before you go
Service sucked. Employees are very slow and not friendly at all. For being a new business in town i expected better customer service. Bartender was super slow! I get it you’re the only one working but it was ridiculous. Managers need to have three bartenders working. The place was also very hot indoors. Restrooms were very hot and smelly. Overall i rather go to the other bowling center in town for now on.
4-20-19, very enjoyable, fun for the kids. We ordered 2 cheese burger combos and a buffalo wing platter. The food took a super long time and when we finally received our order, everything was cold, fries, burgers, and wings, not good.
Nice Big variety of games but food could be better
You wont find a better place in the county! Not too expensive and very nice. I love this place!
Great spot to hang shoot some pool play some classic games could be a 5 star please adjust the air conditioning its rediculously hot.
If youre looking for a good time, youve3come to the right place
Staff and management kept giving different prices for bowling. Went on Sunday after 7pm got quoted $58 for 2 people and asked another manager and the price changed to $36. Decided to play pool and they did the same thing $15 per hour when it was listed at $10 after 7pm. The pricing is even listed on the boards in the line and on the monitors and on the website.
Good looking place, fun atmosphere, cool games but very expensive and the food and drink area is clearly not ready to adequately serve the public. Hopefully they will get better.
Fun. Love that they thoroughly check people before entering. Enjoyed my time thereBut it definitely isnt cheap.
Always packed, been there 3 times all during the day and they are always out of half or more of the food menu. Claw machines are a rip off.
We really enjoyed the bowling. Disappointed we could not order a? hamburger or salad. Apparently the grill was broken? The Place just opened? And the staff did not know how to book a birthday party?
Love this place . 99 cent ice cream . My kids love this place .BEST PLACE to come to Salinas .
Best place to play arcade games not crowded at all and many games.
Definitely rather go to the bowling alley on South Main....Pros: its open lateCons: 1)staff is slow.. 2)food runs out past 6pm 3) lots of gangsters 4) looks like it maybe the new gang hangout 5) their system doesn’t link with San Jose 6) the walk to get food is far from the lanes7) games are broken....8) very limited lanes 9) 1 hr wait to bowl it’s going to be a fail.... if they dont fix this issue now...Why go to Valley Center Bowl over this place?Customers service is absolutely the best 1) they bring your food 2) feels like a real bowling alley 3) they upped thir games now... and lastly a full service bar
Really fun tons of options and you go bowling
Fun place, lil expensive, bad thing was i ordered a pizza from there looked really good but was really disappoint when i found it not to be cooked all the way/ dough was soggy. Hot wings on point though..
Decent spot however the potential for altercations or physically violence seems high here. They use a metal detector before youre allowed in. Im assuming this is the result of incidents in the past. If you want food or a drink plan to wait over 30 mins. Overall not horrible however not great.
Well it was my 1st round at 1st Round bowling and let me tell you, if you go late the workers are so eager to close that they let the rules go out the window. We were eligible for the bonuses and specials, but not when its 1 1/2 hours before closing. So I lost out on my free picture I won because they closed down the registers early, so I lost out. And my date bowled a 200 in one round and he didnt get what was coming to him either, instead they gave him a tiny bowling pin keychain. ...how insulting! Otherwise we couldnt have anything to eat or drink, the lights were bright, clean facilities, but this might be my last AND 1st round here....I feel cheated a little bit.. . Not fulfilling in the least. ...tsk tsk, tsk! .
Great games staff is attentive very calm environment.
This business is portrayed as a fun time with all of the different activities it provides, but the downside to their business are their employees. On my two visits, employees were rude and clueless about their own job. One woman was not capable of understanding that I wanted two ice cream cones with one scoop. Besides not being able to understand my order, there was a written sign on her register stating, “no pizza, nachos, wings, fries, etc.” For a busy location, one would think they would order enough food to last them until their next food shipment. On my second visit, there was an issue with the point system on their kiosk. According to the manager who we spoke with, you can only choose from their options to receive bonus credits. For bonus credits for any other amount such as $30 or $40, it must be done with them at the registers which is not stated ANYWHERE in their signs. And after clearly stating my dissatisfaction with the manager, there was nothing he could do or add the point because it was “too much credit.”
It was the best place I have ever gone you should really go.
Quality games and prizes from international locations. Lots of variety in games including bowling, pool, prize games, arcade fighters, racing and more. Very excited to come back again!
I had a really bad experience last night when my 5 boys and I took my husband to go bowling at Round1 in Salinas. The 7 of us went and got put on a waiting list to bowl and when I checked in I told the employee we would be bowlimg for 2 hours and she said ya just check in and we will text u when ur lanes are ready. We went and ordered food and got drinks 45 mins later I got the text and I went up to pay for our lanes and the employee told me we could only play 1 to 2 games they were not doing 2 hour lanes due to waiting list. Inwas very up set due to just sepnding 100.00 on food and now being told we could only play 2 games max. Then they charged me for 7 shoes which my boys all have there own and they employee goes we need to see the shoes. I was so upset that I was being treated this way. So i had to walk with the employee over to where the kids and Tony were eatimg so they could check they had bowling shoes which they all did so they had to do a refund for shoes they had charged me for after I told them they all had shoes. We have been there before and were not treated this way but this was a really bad experience. I did ask to speak to the manager and a young girl came over and said that is the way it is and she would talk to her employees to have them tell people that they can only play up to 2 games when there is a waiting list from now on. Had I not already spent so much on food we would have left and drive to another bowlimg ally!! Not sure if I will take my family here again!!
I love the games and prizes they have. If you wanna get the biggest amount of tickets play the rabbids game near the entrance of the place. I once got over 500 tickets and I got a bunch of really cool prizes. I would recommend it to anyone who love games.
I always have a good time there
All my cons:Slow service at guest services, at card purchase, security and especially at food counter. You have to stand in line to order your food. No servers come to bowling table or dining tables.Poorly trained. Caught an employee cutting and tomatoes and sprinkling on nachos with no gloves while alternating operating order ready microphone with same said ungloved hands. I mentioned it to the manager but notice said nachos was still served to customerWe were so thirsty and the were out of bottled water. When we were bowling, the line for food court was super long and super slow and everyone bowling with no one to wait in long line. The food is limited and not good quality.Pros:Nice bowling alley and lots of games.
Adult fun plave but bring the young ones too!!
I waste more time here waiting for something to open up than I do money. Way too many people in this small arcade. One-third of the games occupying the floor are garbage cash cow games that have you guiding a claw to claim a stuffed plushie that easily falls out of its grasp (you know the type). The good games (racing games, DDR etc.) are small in number and consistently occupied by possies of kids. So youll never get a turn. Yesterday my friend waited in line to get a beer for at least 45 minutes if not more. I imagine when school starts itll get better. When the company did its market analysis, I doubt they realized the scope of the demand this place would generate because as it stands, its running at max capacity, food is overpriced and wack, the good games are broken half the time, and its stuffy as hell in there. Probably wont come back here again if I have to wait another 2 hours or more being given the runaround. Anyone that tells you its good either lives there, or is a paid shill. Go visit the local businesses that offer superior quality for less.
Kids had so much fun!
Nice bowling alley.
Look at Salinas thinking they San Jose. Lower them prices buddy. Salinas will never be like San Jose. Salinas is a damn slum where don’t nobody make it.
The customer service in this place sucks bad!! I have been here twice, once with a friend just for a beer and 2nd time I thought I would take my kids to give it a try. Huge disappointment!! All lines for food and bar are extremely slow and the staff stares at you for 15+ minutes without asking you for your order or to even greet you. When I was there with my kids, we had a bad experience in the game prize room. The girl at the counter did not know how to add and she did not know how much each prize was worth even after I showed her what the bin said.. ugh. The Manager was no help and was very rude, his name was Devawn. He should be embarrassed of his lack of management skills.NOTE TO OWNERS: Hire intelligent, quick, friendly staff who can work in a fast paced family environment. You need a real Manager who knows what he/she is doing.
Great place to take the kids
This place is so bad i was playing the claw machine i tried over 50 times and did not get anything
Looks good only game is missing is metal slug classic game
So i went there with my 5 yr old. On a thursday midday. Not crowded and plenty of space. There a nice side bar area with happy hour all day. Prices are as expected $$$. The variety of beer was upsetting; only about 5 on tap, Few bottles of import, and your usual array of alcohol. The barista was polite and quick. Even put a slice of orange on my shock top.Food was okay, nothing to brag about, i guess the pizza is the best they have but uI couldnt try it because they ran out. Must be good. Usual buffalo wings, chicken tenders, Frys and icecream. The games were a disappointment. Not as many as the one in san jose. Limited pool tables. Bowling area is dope, well lit with cool neon lights.Shout out to the pleasant staff (denisse) helped me with all my questions and even had a few suggestions. Its an okay place, didnt live up to the hype, but im a big believer in second chances so ill give it another try and suggest you do aswell.
Fun arcades. Pricey but what do you expect now a days??
New plaxe for cops to break up drunk kids being dumb. Needs to learn to ID ppl . Needs to stop alowing ppl to drink bottles of liqour outside there doors.... wow. Shamefull
Not a big fan but the whole food section needs a vegan menu switch
Kool place great family place only bad thing is claw machines are weak and expensive be ready to spend alot of money when you go to round 1.
Expensive please. But good fun.
Place is clean, fun, and relatively inexpensive.
I think this place is perfec for young people. Salinas really needed this!
Great prices, very clean and awesome environment
Very bad food service. Employees need training. Gross pizza. Very little credits for the amount. Wont go again. It was dirty.
