Best fish store in the area! I drive 45 minutes from the north shore to get my fish from here. They have both freshwater and saltwater, but I only go for the saltwater stuff. Owner and staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are very reasonable. Great selection of fish, corals and supplies.

Always greeted at the door and have some great corals from here there prices match a online retailer for fish and dry goods the only two things I would like to see is do a npetune trident membership like some shops are doing.

Very friendly staff and good prices. Theres a lot of different freshwater and saltwater fish available. I regret not coming here sooner because there is so many times more driftwood available here than any pet store around. The prices are very good as well.

The older gentleman that helped was very polite and had no issue with giving me some advise. Prices are as to be expected for a small shop like this, and their selection is not bad either. Having been more than once and dealing with different other people there Im overall happy with the business Ive done with them. Typically better prices on livestock and more selection of dry goods and chemicals than similar place in this area. 100% worth a stop if you are in the hobby.

Shop here every week. Always great new stuff to look at and a great selection of coral and fish. Plus all kinds of equipment for both fresh and salt tanks. I have been keeping saltwater tanks for over 10 years now and have yet to find a store with better prices as well as having everything your looking for!

Very helpfull, and do not push you for sales, happy to point you in the right direction. They are more into salt water than fresh.

Way cool place for all your aquatic needs

HUGE selection of corals, and saltwater fish. Decent selection of freshwater but not as much as expected this time around. Today was my first time ever visiting. I was one of only 2 customers in the store at the time, and waited patiently for quite a while for someone to come up to the register to help. So if its busy, expect the possibility of a long wait. The tanks were relatively clean, the fish did look healthy, and they carry many harder to find supplies and accessories, and once I was helped the (owner I assume) was friendly. I did not get any fish, but may go back later in the season to see what they have in. There were soft-water varieties like discus, and lots of cichlids both Central and S. American, and African types alike. The store is on a slab, so dont expect it to be bright and super clean. Its a nice Aquarium store, and I will still return again sometime.

Jays always seems to have what Im looking for. His selection of saltwater fish, corals and invertebrates is second to none in the whole area. Youd have to drive at least an hour or more to find another place that even comes close to having what Jay has. His prices are competitive with other stores of this nature and he knows what sells.

An impressively sized fish store with some exotic creatures to see mixed in. You chat with the owner at the counter and they always have fair prices and great information. 10/10.

I have gone here 3 weeks in a row they never have any good stock fresh and saltwater. They tanks as re very dirty never clean. The worst thing about this place is the staff they wont say a word to you ask you fo help or anything would never recommend this place. All the good reviews must be old cause none of them are true.

Place isnt kept clean! In their Freshwater tanks there was at least 2 dead fish in them that looked like theyd been in there at least a day or 2. All their tanks was dingy dirty like they were never properly cleaned. They had a massive oversized Pleco that was held in their small tank.. Poor thing couldnt even move. I went there to buy stuff for my tanks but after walking around there I quickly changed my mind. I would not buy a fish there because they all looked sick.. I went to ask a question & all I could get was 1 word answers like.. Yea, no or maybe! This is a place I will not visit again. All of their prices were comparable to any other fish store.

They have some great fish and coral selections. Be sure to check water parameters b4 acclimating fish brought from here. Lost a couple specimens, I believe they keep their salinity on the low end of saltwater, to keep down on disease. Otherwise only local fish shop around, town besides petco and petsmart. Store could use a makeover.

Very disappointed in the way I was treated, if your having a Bad Day don’t take it out on the Customer. The young guy cleaning the tanks appeared like he was on Opioids or something, overall I would not go back anytime soon.

Been in 3-4 times now. By far and away the best retailer in NH for anything salt water. Livestock is always healthy, really good prices and wide selection of SPS corals. The salt water fish, supplies, and freshwater fish are also well stocked, but coral and salt water fish seem to be the focus. I have gotten 3 acropora, a porite, some zoas... all doing very well in my 10g nano tank. I have yet to see any hitch hikers on any corals which is one of my favorite things here. I have added their tank water to my tank on 3 separate occasions with no adverse effects (do so at your own risk) If I was buying a sponge or lion fish where you could not expose the critter to air and needed to dump in tank water, this would be my go to place.I dont know what other reviewers mean by dirty, as far as pet stores go this place is spotless. The location the store is in is far perfect and I think that is creating the impression of it being dirty. Everything I have seen inside the tanks is either average or above average, certainly nothing that looked neglected. I think some people are use to big box stores where the store is spotless and the tanks are filthy.... this is kind of the opposite, but I would not call the store filthy (maybe utilitarian?)It may seem like the staff are ignoring you, but in the past it seemed like they were giving people space but now they seem to be more likely to approach you; it has been too busy when I went in lately to say for sure. Everyone is very nice regardless, you just may need to ask for help before someone comes over. Very glad to have these guys around, the next best option is online and a lot more expensive (shipping is a killer)

I used to love going to jays, I went religiously to check out the new live stock and always left with a nice piece for my tank. Im not sure what has happened recently maybe theyre are going through a rough patch. My Last visit was likely my last. I was the only person at the store as I browsed through the coral and fish. The tanks were riddled with pest algae a dead fish. Their frag tanks were nearly empty and many if the frags were dead or dying. In their display tanks corals were getting choked out by green hair algae and many of their fish had lost color. I was never approached by an employee not even a smile or a hello, no one even looked up from the counter to thank me for stopping in as I made my way to the door. One of the best things about this industry is the friendly conversation and sharing of trade secrets that help us all grow and improve as hobbyists and there is no effort to be found at jays.

The people that work at Jay and Jay himself are always more than helpful. On more than one occasion they have helped me solve problems with my saltwater tank. It was Jay himself who help me start my first tank. Yes, there are times like any place you may have to wait a minute or two for help when they have a ton of customers in the store, all wanting help at the same time. But the wait is more than worth it because when it is your turn you have 100% of their attention and they go overboard to help you with everything. Let me say this this is the place to go for all your saltwater and fresh fish need because they care about your tanks, and you as an individual.

Location is quiet .hard to find.very nice fish n corals .but very dirty .looks like its going out business n its beeeen looking like that for years already .like clean up or hire people to help its 1 person who works in da whole store ......okay prices .but really not welcoming.

Had a great collection of freshwater fishes and also an amazing collection of marine water fishes/invertebrates. Prices were comparable to the big pet shops like Petsmart/Petco etc. The only complaint I have is, I got X-ray tetras whereas I was told they were lemon tetras.

I just got back into the freshwater aquarium hobby and I was referred to this place by an employee of one of the big box pet stores because I was looking for a unique, less common fish that they rarely had in her store. I am grateful she did because Jays is great. They have everything you need, most of what you want, and TONS of fish selection. And true to her word, they had EVERY single species I had in mind to stock my new 29 gallon tank with. I didnt fully stock it right away but they had the more rare fish I wanted so I grabbed them.The woman that works there (didnt get her name) was stocking new fish from bags but was still very attentive and an encyclopedia of info. She helped determine my stocking threshold, compatibility, how quickly to add them, and in what order. The fish were a bit pricier than the big box places but not ridiculously so and the better selection, quality and health are worth the investment. If they suspect something is not healthy, they will mark NFS (not for sale) or turn down the sale (I witnessed this first hand). High integrity appreciated! Also, there are tons of food and decor choices.A bit off the beaten path but truly worth the ride if you are into aquaria. Just seeing the different species you have never seen before in your life is fun even if you dont buy anything.

OMG the prices were/are ridiculous most items were between 1 1/2 and 2 times those at petco, the frag tanks were in bad need of cleaning. Will never return.
