Just finished another 10 day stay. Excellent value and good service. Greg is an excellent bartender at the poolside bar and grill. Our third year staying. Decor is a little dated but that is part of the cache for us baby boomers .
Wonderful Spa amenities, the steam room and plunge pool were great, and my treatments left me feeling rejuvenated! However, the indoor jacuzzi and the indoor pool area could use some updating, as when you’re laying back in the jacuzzi, you’re staring at the ceiling that is full of rusty light fixtures and the indoor pool also looks pretty old like it needs to be resurfaced. Additionally, it was pretty loud and I found it hard to relax during treatments, as I could hear the staff shouting and joking in the halls outside the treatment rooms. The staff could use a refresher in maintaining the spa ambience. Other than that, my service providers Ilenne and Richie and the spa attendants were wonderful :)

If anybody is looking for deals for hotels browse through ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ booked a hotel on there and these guys had the absolute best prices any where!Some challenges due to covid, sparse staff, new staff, maintenance starting to fall behind. But they are trying hard, I felt safe and the place is truly fabulous. I gave 5 stars because all is forgiven for the wonderful 3 nights we spent there.
Staff are awesome.The place itself, needs some big updates. The cleaning of the hallways, is not great. Our room was very big, bed was very comfortable. When it came to my bill, there was a $23 charge for a movie. I disputed this, receptionist told we watched it for one second. They did remove the charge.PS:Do not get take away coffee from front restaurant. It comes in a small paper cup, we where charged $6,84 not even good coffee.
Stayed for two nights for one of my best friends wedding last weekend. We got a King sized Deluxe room with a patio, and it was super spacious. The hotel staff are really nice, and their wedding planner was absolutely amazing coordinating us bridesmaids and working with the bride.
I’ve been planning an all day spa stay for my sister and I for her birthday and we were fully prepared to spend upwards of $1k at this resort and only called on December 3rd at 3:00pm to simply book the services. It’s a shame the receptionist was so disgusting and rude we were completely turned off and couldn’t in our best intentions book at this resort though she’s a busy mom and had been talking about this all week. This receptionist’s customer service was shockingly rude! She was short, abrupt, condescending and completely unaccommodating though birthday plans were mentioned. We have been treated better at fast food restaurants! I’ve been to this resort before and never will return here. I will never refer any of my friends and family here after the unprofessionalism displayed today.
Horrible customer service. They are cold hearted and they have no compassion or common human decency. We booked a 2 night stay less than 24 hours ago and had an unexpected personal emergency that resulted in us needing to cancel. There were no spa reservations, just the hotel room. I called them with tears running down my face and clearly distraught trying to put together my words, yet all I received as a response was because you are within the 3 day period you will forfeit the $179 or we can push the reservations out a year. Unfortunately we are now in need of the money back more so rescheduling is not an option. They said there is nothing else they can do because thats policy. They have no compassion for others and only care about their selfish greed! Im disgusted with how they handled this issue and have been made to feel even worse about our current situation. Less than 24 hours with only a hotel reservation and they cant do anything for a unique circumstance? I find that extremely hard to believe and it makes me utterly sick to my stomach how they can do this to someone. Im devastated. This would have been our first stay here, but now we will never step foot on that property and will encourage others to do the same with how we have been treated. They should be disgusted and ashamed of themselves. I hope someone with a heart sees this and can help us. We just were in need of help and received nothing but scripted responses.
The Spa was AMAZING! Received a wonderful Swedish Massage from Richie, I highly recommend him. The steam room completely sold me on the place as well as the sauna. You can get a day pass for $100 if youre undecided on getting a membership.
A great weekend get away! Access to some great spa and fitness facilities, including classes. You never have to leave but a quaint downtown area literally a block away.
Historic and elegant resort. The spa is amazing. When you stay in the resort, make sure to go down and take advantage of the amenities included. The included pools, steam rooms, saunas and relaxing rooms will leave you feeling pampered. It so large that they will give you a tour. The spa also has great services like massage and other treatments at a range of prices. The meeting rooms are beautiful. The Baranof Theater is a beautiful space for larger meetings. I was there for a four day conference, and every meal was delicious. Really fresh vegetables and fruits prepared well in addition to entrees and desserts. The key lime and pecan pies were amazing. They always had great gluten free choices. Rooms are comfortable, though the lighting is low after dark. Feather pillows are the norm, but they will also provide non feathered pillows. Mirrors in the room were aging and the carpets in the hallways will be replaced soon, but overall it still is comfortable and elegant.
I came for a belated Mothers day spa day. It was really nice to be taken care of and pampered. I enjoyed a nice manicure, pedicure, lunch and a swedish massage. Everyone was so nice, polite and professional. I must go back again soon. Maybe next time for mother, daughter day Thank you so much Safety harbor spa
The location is great, check-in was great, staff super helpful. Our room was clean and spacious, but nothing fancy and a bit dated. I was immediately struck, however, with a strong, musty odor, so there must have been mold in there at some point, and now a lingering smell. Nice view though . Overall the resort is in need of updating, repairing, mold remediation. The ceiling tiles are water stained, paint peeling on some doors, etc.
Have always loved the spa! And the the brunch. We have it a 4 star because while our stay was pleasant we felt like rooms could use a refresh (ie) room was a little musty and things like shower handles needed replacing. Also, would have considered spa package but didnt see much choice.
Historical, was a very nice place at one time, and at first look it is. When you look at the details, its a bit filthy with spiderwebs by the artwork and things that are meant to draw attention are overlooked for maintenance and cleaning. About half the staff act like they could care less if you were there, like you are causing them a lot more work than they have to do.The other half of the staff we encountered was great and helpful, friendly, and even told us a few things about the local area they like to do. I wish I could recall their names to give them a shout out thank you. Yes I will return to this location in the future and hope to have a better experience, and hope the staff is better mannered and this potentially beautiful place is actually clean next time.
Bought a day pass which gives access to the spa facilities, the gym and all the fitness classes. Had lunch outdoors by the tiki bar. The water Zumba class was fun, food was delicious, and the sauna, steam room and hot tubs were very relaxing. All employees and guests were wearing masks and social distancing. It was a much needed indulgence! I highly recommend.
Review for Sunday brunch Buffet only! The food choices are great with lots of options including lots of gluten-free labels. Salmon was excellent and the dessert bar was wonderful. $40 a person gets you all you can eat drinks mimosa and includes your tip. Everybody was lovely including the gentleman who seated us and our waiter.
I love this place! I’ve stayed there a couple times now. The staff is absolutely amazing! They are all very friendly and attentive. Regina is the best!! Some of the rooms could use an update . But overall and amazing place to stay. I will definitely be back!:)
Although my initial call for a reservation was not good, it was handled in a timely matter by the management team, specifically Sylvia,Judith, Reginia and Chris (front desk). We loved EVERYTHING about this hotel. The area is so nice and quiet,food was very good,my view amazing and the room big and spacious. Im recommending this hotels to others, the entire staff showed passion for their jobs that it translated pure EXCELLENCE in making you feel at home. I have already booked again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Great food and music. The pool was our gathering spot. Rooms need updating and the pool deck needs non slip tile. Very slippery when wet, and dangerous for young and old alike. Pool bartenders were amazing.
Beautiful inside and out. Has a very classy air to it. Rooms are kinda small. But you get what you pay for. I definitely recommend staying on a Saturday for the morning brunch. The unlimited mimosa all but makeup for the tiny rooms
Worst customer service I have every experienced at a property, let alone a Wyndham. I would highly recommend against this property. Wyndham Clearwater Beach would be my recommended property in this area.
Service was terrible. Server said short staffed with only 2 people working. Food was terrible. Steak burger ordered medium rare had no pink in it. The table next to us that were seated after us were allowed to smoke and disgusting cigarette smoke drifted right our way. We complained to server and she said they were allowed to smoke. A great place has really gone down hill. We wont be going back -- ever.

Old and smell. Really damp feeling. All dirty dishes. 3 times in a row. As I write this we are still waiting to eat. You get free WiFi but you cant sit on the balcony and use. Pointless if I cant enjoy the morning view and do my work. Not at all what i thought i was getting. I shouldve went to St. Pete Beach. This sucks so bad. I live to get my moneys worth and thus aint it.
I had a chicken wrap which would have been good if the chicken wasnt tough. Also they need more servers. Wait was about 1/2 hour before I had to request a server. Others that sat down after me were waited on first.
Disaster!! Tried to surprise my wife for her birthday. I paid for a bay front room and ended in a first floor room behind trees. NO VIEW. Paid for a surprise champagne and cheese, they left it in the room we were supposed to be in. They sent us a cheap bottle of wine which was disgusting.Tried to eat at the restaurant and ended up walking out. So disappointed, especially for my wife.

We came for our honeymoon. Entrance is high class. It really gives a formal feel. Would be great for a wedding. Located next to a good strip of stores and dining within walking distance. Everyone was nice. They are taking the proper precautions for this pandemic. The dinner in the resturant was amazing (I will say my steak and potatoes were very buttery and salty, not in a good way but it was still good). The spa amenities were nice. We didnt book anything or use it but we walked through the areas and were super impressed.The cons. We stayed in a balcony room 257.For the price we paid, the room had a lot of work that needed to be done. A huge spot in the ceiling from hopefully water. The curtain to the balcony had a bunch of grime and dirt on it from other peoples hands. And the shower curtain in the bathroom doesnt go completely around the shower so the air gets in. There was NO. Wifi the entire time. We could not connect to the free WiFi, the wifi said it couldnt authentic an i.p address.my last complaint isnt one that can be fixed. The hotel clearly has add on buildings. So the trip to get to the room was a hike. If you cant travel far, Id reccomend calling to get a room close to the check in.

We gave our son a gift certificate 4 years ago, but because he and our daughter-in- law are traveling nurses and it never worked out for their visit. Finally today they were able to redeem the gift for his 60th birthday. We visited them tonight. What a beautiful place.. They love it. Absolutely impressive. Thank you, Safety Harbor Spa and Resort for honoring this gift 4 years later.

Great size room and very nice location. Safety Harbor is a great little town. The view from our room was breathtaking and the pool was nice. The front desk people, however, were not so nice and usually unavailable when needed.
First I cant say enough about staff, everyone went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, keep in mind this is a very old hotel, and cared for meticulously....however when we first checked into room 401 on 7/7 we found a couple of dead bugs stuck to the wall in the bathroom, but the worst part was the facecloths still in the shower from the previous guests....we did not bring it to their attention as it was minor....but the fridge in the room didnt work either spoiling our food...also the ac wasnt up to par, the 3 of us were hot under the massive comforter.....the beds were delightful however and pillows super comfy. Again the staff was great and made up for the short comings of the room.
Jules at the hair salon is absolutely amazing. She has 40+ years in the hair business and saved my hair after it was left in bad shape from a previous salon. Jules thank you! I keep getting complements on my hair and how beautiful it looks. I will most definitely be coming back for touch ups and the best hair cuts from her ️

I grew up in the area but live in Europe now. Stayed here for a weekend last year to visit family - I LOVED this place! Its a large hotel but feels friendly and intimate, modern but with a ton of history and atmosphere. The rooms are attractive and spacious (+ bathrooms are enormous!). I had a huge terrace with a gorgeous water view. The grounds were lovely for relaxing strolls and downtown amenities (coffee, cafes, etc,) were a quick walk away (Safety Harbor is super cute). Room service was consistently excellent and well-priced. Such a relaxing trip, I wish Id been able to stay longer. Even if youre not partaking in the spa amenities its a fantastic hotel.
We were highly disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. The tub had a hair in it and the vanity was so nasty on the front that my wife had to wipe it off with several tissues before leaning against it. The shower drain did not work correctly. There were stains on the wall and the chair. Due to our late arrival I waited until the morming to let the front desk know of our issues. Fortunately, Regina was able to upgrade us at no cost. The second room was bigger and cleaner but it had a tv that was too small for the room. I will not be returning there and will not recommend this to any of my friends or family.
It would probably be impossible to find a better location and certainly impossible to find a more personable and helpful staff. The only reason I gave it 4 stats is that we had a series of (not insignificant) maintenance issues.

I went in for a day at the spa as a birthday gift and had a massage, a manicure and a pedicure. This was my first time visiting and my massage was wonderful. Would also highly recommend Aiden for booking your mani/pedi appt. Shes so easy to talk to and has a really kind heart! Would love to make it a regular thing (if only it wasnt 40 minutes away!)

Came here because of a gift card - it included massage, lunch and manicure. The massage was absolutely amazing! Lunch was very good, staff was professional. I was disappointed in the manicure. Areas were missed, some of my nails are uneven, overall disappointment. My mother got a pedicure, and she was very displeased. She had a bunch of areas missed, it took less time than my manicure, which is unusual.
The amenities are great. Indoor outdoor pools and steam saunas with jacuzzi tubs all included in a basic stay. The rooms are nice we had a king Bay view room and the view was really nice. Not a lot was open on the property. Pool bar was closed and we were looking to have a few drinks by the pool while relaxing and couldnt. Had to order beer and food from Uber Eats due to the lack of availability probably due to COVID. The indoor pools and saunas shut down at 8 instead of 10 which was a little inconvenience. Chris at the front desk was awesome. Courteous, and willing to help. Overall relaxing and enjoyable night away.
My husband, Scott Poston and I visit the Safety Harbor pier daily for prayer, meditation and yoga along the walkway behind the Safety Harbor Resort. I want to thank Regina, the front desk manager and Harry and Greg for coming out to jump our car after the battery died. Scott asked 6 different people for assistance and was told no. I made one phone call to the front desk to see if one of their employees could help and within 3 minutes two gentlemen, Harry and Greg, got the job done. Talk about customer service! So kind! KUDOS to the Safety Harbor Resort for their show of compassion.
A beautiful resort and spa. Amazing views of the Tampa bay coast and city skyline. Great access to restaurants within waking distance.The incredible natural health benefits of minerals spring water. Staff customer services were warm and wonderful. A must visit resort and spa.
Great location. It is been around for a long time. Freinds TV didnt work, two phone calls and a walk to the front desk to advise before it was fixed. Special request for our anniversary and it was delivered. But they did give us extra chocolate covered strawberries, later that day. Thank you

I booked online for a pool view for my and my daughter. We went to dinner came back. She wanted to go swimming. The carpet was soaked she slipped and fell. I had to fill out a form. They switched our room as I requested. No compensation. Nothing. I was disappointed. No manager to talk to. Ive stayed here before and this time I was really not happy.

View out the window is so so. Facility is a bit dated. Few things dont work. Ice machine, bathroom, ac in the lobby. Tub is chipped in many places. There is a restaurant and bar with live music. Its 30 bucks for seafood buffet. Pool bar is cool too Staff is excellent. The stigma of a OLD hotel is kind of cool. You can walk to the pier. Its right out the back door. Sunset view is nice. So 4 stars is well deserved.
I really wanted to give this resort 5 stars but the most important part of any hotel stay is the room/comfort and unfortunately that was the downside to the stay. The room was dated, dusty and had an old stuffy smell that airing out was of no effect. It was a plus that we had a door that opened to the pool to get some fresh air. Housekeeping had to be called for clean linen and that was taken care of pretty quickly and the bed was comfy. There was a poolside bar, again great staff great atmosphere but weak drinks.Pros: The staff was friendly and the food was very good. There was karaoke one night and live entertainment on Saturday that gave guest things to do without leaving the resort. There was a pier that was nice to relax on the water (seating available). There were paved walking paths to explore the property which was adorned with beautiful flowers and covered sitting areas. There are a few nice eateries that you can literally walk a block to and have great food if you choose not to dine at the hotel.If Id had a more updated room minus the smell, this would have been a perfect stay. Do note that this is an older hotel that has history that they embrace and apart of the hotel which was not a problem and was a nice get away just wished Id requested a new room but thought airing it out would remedy the problem #Iwaswrong.
Jazz night. Great jazz band, New Orleans food. ...gumbo, dirty rice, shrimp, etc. 1 complimentary drink. ....the rest cash bar. $39 per person. Worth it.
I just had to take time out to give a review because all of the staff members, is very friendly and they truly do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible, this resort is beautiful plenty of stuff to do,, surrounded by small little town with all kinds of fun stuff to do restaurants bars family orientated you dont want to leave, safe and secure, the rooms are nice and spacious slightly outdated but very clean, and their prices are very very fair, you will pay about the same price for a Hilton or Holiday inn but you get so much more in return, the pool and tiki bar is beautiful and surreal happy faces everywhere you look, I suggest you stay here instead of a Hilton for example, I live in the safety harbor area, when I have family come to town, this is where I bring them, been coming here for years, but there was one problem, I did not have the chance to enjoy the full spa treatment that they gave me, because I am a diamond platinum member, I hope when I get the chance to visit this resort again I will get a complimentary pass full spa treatment, it is a true getaway when you want to run from the hectic world we live in, safe secure covid-19 they are on it theres always somebody wiping and cleaning and making sure that there is not a fingerprint nowhere, they know how to pamper the women here, and if you bring your kids they will love it too this place is family orientated, the food is wonderful even when youre at the tiki bar they bring you anything you want, I suggest you have to have the bloody Marys that is garnished with fresh beautiful shrimp that is out of this world I just wish I had the time to enjoy that bloody Mary/gulf shrimp and spa treatment,

I’m local and this is one of my favorite spots for a staycation. The resort offers great spa amenities including 2 outdoor pools, hot tubs, indoor pool, saunas, steam room and plunge pool. The rooms need updating that’s why I gave 4 stars. If you are looking for good food and affordable spa treatments this is a great place.

Came here for a beautiful wedding; as a venue this place is gorgeous! As a spa, I could not have been more relaxed. I loved the hot tubs, the indoor and outdoor pools, the cold splash pool, and the steam room. With the mineral water in all the pools, my skin felt so soft after the weekend was over! The food was delicious, from what was served at the wedding to the Sunday brunch.

I have hosted weddings and events here as well as stayed at the resort several times over the years!! This time I stayed for my birthday and once again I had a blast !! The Spa is amazing with all its amenities locker room with changing rooms, steam rooms, sauna, plunge pool, indoor pools and jacuzzi and so much more not to mention the massage therapist Duchein is AMAZING he is trained in NST work so his massages are feel good and therapeutic most of all!!
Booked a Lavender Dreams package as a treat for my birthday and it was absolutely lovely. Spa was very clean and oh so enjoyable! Spent there entire day with a break for lunch at a Fountain Grille restaurant. I honestly had one of the most lovely, relaxing days in a long while. Would recommend to anyone and I plan to return soon!

Ask about the splash package if youre staying overnight. They have breakfast, dinner and unlimited drink of the day from the tiki bar outside. The spa was recently renovated and very nice inside... the steam sauna and cool pool is a great way to detox and relax. Our room had a great view and was nice and clean. The massage was amazing and well worth it. Only complaint was the salon services were a little more expensive than I would have liked to spend for what we got. The ladies were very nice and took care of us, I just expected it to be better than our local nail/hair salon. Overall, it was a great weekend getaway. Well be visiting again, Id love to make this an annual retreat.
A very Nostalgic hideaway resort. Toured the property and was a bit impressed by its layout. Will be staying there in October 2020 for a wedding party. Will update then.
