Great place for family fun. As with any big amusement park, the food is expensive, and so is parking. But my children love it here so Im happy.
Went here with my family. We love coming here and having a good time. The price is great because we used group on our tickets.. This is our go to place to have a great time..And if you get the season pass like we did last summer you get free entry to the California State fair. That is really fun to go after having a great day at Raging Water..So hope you have a great time as we did at this place.. Have a great day
This was a great place to visit and have a good day lounging around and playing. Clean and well kept for the price you pay. There were two rides close but there was plenty to do all day. We visited on a weekday and got there at opening time and stay until close. We rented a Cabana by the wave pool and our helper Giselle did an amazing job taking care of us, making sure we had drink refills and food *(you gotta pay extra for that obviously). Our only down side was the gentleman at the parking lot. We didnt have a small bill and he snap his lips at us staying to us with a bad look that he wasnt a bank. We didnt know they dont accept credit cards to pay for parking. If you find this review helpful, click on the like button
If I could I would give this place 1 million stars! My experience here was AMAZING me and my family had so much fun! This place also has great customer service. I recommend you visit this place too!
This place is super cool for little ones to teens and young adults or mom and dads for their kids. This isnt as great for us older adults who like the big rides!! Sun splash is better for the older kids and adults but raging waters is a cool spot and your first entry gets you a season pass! Cant go wrong there!
Me and my boys love this place! We come every summer!
My family and I love Raging Waters. This is the second year we had season passes. Fun fun in the sun. We will continue to get season passes frm here on out.
We have season passes to Raging waters san jose and decided to take a day trip to Raging waters Sacramento. We had fun, its a smaller water park than the other raging Waters but they have plenty of slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and play areas for the kids that arent interested in rides. We found a good shady area to park our stuff, I thought the bathrooms were pretty clean and the employees I spoke with were friendly and helpful.
Fantastic place to bring the kids!
This place is amazing love taking my daughterShe has a blast here. I always recommend coming here.
Great for disabled, old people, kids 2-5. Has many rides/slides! Lazy river goes everywhere for people who get tired easy/can’t get around. Lots of lifeguards. Wave pools for baby’s! Good food Carl’s 5$-10$. Pizza so so...The bad news prices right off the bat! Parking lot 10$. So go park down street like 2 blocks! Locker 12$ so don’t bring stuff bring old stuff you don’t mind losing. Don’t wear cotton(life guards will not let u ride stuff! No cotton! People say dirty water but it’s got lots of shade from trees. I don’t care about in water. But the owner could fork out for more signs no directions ️Not a place for someone who wants super scary rides.
Super pleased after our first trip! We bought season passes (which were super cheap) because it seemed to be the only military-friendly family park and the discount was unbeatable.Park was really fun. As a mom I was grateful to see so many lifeguards (actually working - I watched one quickly jump in after a little girl) who were attentive and professional. Security was on point. Parking was not far away at all either. My 7 year old loved the river and slides. Even my teens were happy.Food was a little pricey but it is a theme park so that’s to be expected. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
Kids loved it!! We rented a private cabana and the service was top notch! Definitely buying season passes every year
This place is a great local water park for the family. Get there early if you want to rent a Cabana or do it in advance online a couple of days prior. you will not be able to rent online on the same day youre going. No outside food or drinks are allowed but they have food and non alcoholic beverages for sale inside (overpriced, of course)
Recommend this water park for family and friends day out. Kept clean, great staff. Rides are fun. $38 season pass I suggest to book online.
Raging waters is an AMAZING place me and my family go here every single year it may have less rides but it is very fun. Service is great.I suggest you go to raging waters.
Slides were super fun and the park was really clean. I was surprised that the lines werent ridiculous but, I should still have got to the park earlier. I wasnt able to make it to every ride before they closed but I didnt get there til 1pm
Just got our season pass. First time has been good to us. Fun and relaxing!
Super fun for the family.
Average water park. Wave pool was pretty weak (4 inch waves --yawn--) No boogie boarding or rapids of any kind. A few decent water slides, nothing epic. The fair was pretty decent. Price was cheap for season pass combo fairgrounds / water park ($31). Food options were typical and normal fair prices (mostly high). Parking was good but a tad high ($15). Website and signs there show they open at 9am but its actually 10am so we had to wait a bit. Id give them 4 stars if they had any kind of rapids ride. The lazy river thing was meh. Seating was ample everywhere. Not too crowded even for a Sunday during the middle of fairgrounds season.
Big park with good accomodations for smaller children. Fun slides busy during state fair.
Obviously you cant bring in food or drinks of course so I purchased 2 meals at Carls Jr. and the bill was $45.00. Then alot of the staff is not trained in customer service. They do have plenty of Lifeguards which is a positive, but they are trained in Ellis & Associates so their training is quick and will train anyone with a heartbeat who can move their head up and down. The wave pool actually should make decent sized waves then it would be fun. The toddler area looks fun but babies and toddlers cant go down any slides with their parents so this policy create more of a danger. The security guards at the front State Fair gates are not friendly at all and they dont smile. The overall facility has potential for concerts and exciting events but it looks neglected like it needs a modern upgrade. There are a lot of supervisors in blue shirts and the Sac County Sheriff had a good presence there and this is also a positive. The lines are too long for such a small water park... They need to implement more effective patron deployment methods. I am not trying to be tough or negative on this place, rather I want to be proud to take my family and youth groups there.
Great family place, good for little kids
This place is a blast! Its really only for teenagers and families. I think if I was by myself I would be bored, but the kids loved it. Theres a little river you can float around. Nice for grammar-school age kids. The big slides are best for teenagers. My normally sullen 14 year old son had a huge grin on his face after going down the hurricane slide. Personal I enjoyed the wave pool. It was really fun in a relaxing way.The water is cool, clean and refreshing. It doesnt smell of chlorine. Many reviewers commented that the grounds are dirty, but other than some dried leaves from the trees I didnt find the place dirty at all.
We left not long after we got there which was right when they opened. The grounds were dirty, the restrooms were just gross and several slides were closed. We were astonished at the condition of the park as we have been there lots of times in the past and always had a great time and had never had any cause to complain before. After an hour of being there and seeing the lack of care, we went and got our money back and left.
I love to swim here very fun lots of perks when you by the season pass

FYI - To enter raging waters you need to walk through the fairgrounds. If the fair is happening you will need to buy entrance to the fair as well as Raging Waters.
I would have given 5 stars if not for the messed up parking they got here! Make sure you buy the $10 extra for the year otherwise you will pay $15/day to park! No ins and outs either!!!! But other than that I think they should keep the water cleaner. The wave pool was hotter than bath water and we saw poop floating in the water. So we thought it was all piss water after that....But other than that its GREAT!
Super family fun. Honestly your best bet is to buy a season pass. Its only a few dollars more than regular admission. Plus you get into the State Fair for free. So its like paying for 2 family outings in 1 go.
Very refreshing place to go during a hot summer day. Staff was very friendly and the slides were fun. They had some for small kids and some that even adults can enjoy.
This place was so much fun. Its probably the best time Ive ever had in my life. The area with the waves was really fun, last river was really nice and cool, and overall the whole experience was amazing. Would go there again anytime. If you go, well, I dont think you will regret your trip.
It was fun although when getting on some of the slides with tubes it was confusing because there was two divided lines but on one side they had double riders and triple riders all together and it was confusing. the Carls Jr and pizza place were all closed and the dip n dots employee had no cash available. the rest of the rides were pretty good.
This is an awesome place to take your family friends and have a good time not too expensive to get in lots of things to do food is good and cheap not to of a long line you can buy a pass to bypass the long lines with special lots of seating lots of shading make sure you go in the way back behind the wave pool and you will find a secret ride thats not knowing too much a well-kept secret but very cold cuz theres not much I enjoyed my time there will come again
Food is overpriced but other than that it’s alright.
Great family atmosphere on hot summer days here in Sacramento. The food pass is affordable and tasty with new menu additions. Same attractions for over 25 years plus new additions such as the kiddie pool & splash & Honolulu half pipe. The groundskeeping overall should be well maintained during park hours for debris. Overall, local family fun.
Super fun, especially early in the season, when there are no lines.
Its a great place to go cool off in the heat of the day. I bought season passes for a family of 6 and it might cost a little upfront after buying season soda cups but it will pay for itself in 2weeks. The only complaints I have are the grounds are not really kept up need a few more people waking around with brooms and bins. Security seems good till the day they dont wand you with the metal detecting Wand because its to hot to do it makes my family uneasy now going due to social fears of guns and knife fights. Food is priced reasonably.
Had a wonderful time. GREAT family fun. Lots to do. The kids had a great time and I loved the lazy river.
I bought tickets at Costco and when I exchanged the ticket to obtain my season pass, they didnt provide the bring a friend or complimentary tube tickets. I had to learn the hard way when I went to get a tube but I was told I needed a ticket. That associate didnt even know where to send me to get my ticket. When I finally obtained my ticket, there were no more tubes.
A awesome time with your family or friends! Its cheap, a couple of big slides, 2 water playgrounds for kids. Honestly take your kids there they would love it 10/10
Absolutely love this place! Water temperature was perfect. Great prices for admission and good. Great staff.
Awesome place to take the kids, few rides down on constant basis and seems like no new ones will be added either though. If you do wanna have some fun in the water then this is a must see place, and you get a season pass when you buy the day so why not?
Fun but expensive. Lockers are $12+ bring as little as possible because they are small. 1 hamburger can cost $10. They also need more shade there. If you buy tickets always DO IT ONLINE. You will sabe at least $5 or more.
Keep in mind that most people who take the time to write a review do so to write a negative one and those who had a great time don’t bother, so it’s not very indicative of the experience of the general population. This is our fourth time getting a season pass. For how long the season is and the fair being included, the value really can’t be beat. Yes, it’s going to be very busy if you come during the fair time. We have had so much fun here every year, and it’s great seeing my little girl progress to increasingly ‘scary’ slides. It feels very safe (I don’t know how the water staff can be constantly nodding their heads like that all day, but they are very thorough in checking the water) and we always have a great time. Thank you Raging Waters for providing such a fun environment that we look forward to each summer!
Kids had a great time. Fills up quick during the fair, so get there early to find places to sit, or bring your own. Also the food places can be a little slow.
Raging Waters is the only real thing that the Fair got right. Definitely worth a visit if you are a fan of the pool and slides. YOu can beat the summer by coming here when you dont have anything else to do for the day as well as weekends. Keep the cameras away. It seems that security doesnt want you taking photos. Probably for good reason.
Well, this was three years ago, so it might be different now. It was just, kinda run down. Also, cement in summer is super hot for your feet. We got burns...
They have made it fun for parents and grandparents with lockers, chairs and shade.
Pack up the family, drive to San Jose and go to the one there because the Sacramento one is garbage. After visiting from Reno we upgraded our passes, got in the car and drove to San Jose. Much cleaner, nicer park. More slides, bigger wave pool with actual waves, easier sidewalk. Raging Waters Sacramento is just horrible.
Cool place!
We Go almost all the time with the kids.. Cool lazy pool. Warm wave pool.. Kids love the kid section.. Older ones go on the slides. We love it.. Food is expensive in there, So eat before you go. And go out on a break to car if you brought sandwitches and drinks if you get hungry.. You can bring a little a cold bag with ice and waters tho. Its a bit pricey but when its hot out.. U can always cool down at raging waters
Not gonna lie, the lazy river isnt very clean. Theres lots of bugs and leaves in there. Very small water park, it gets overcrowded super fast. But, overall, its a great place to have fun with the family. I would suggest bringing your own lunches cause the food is very selectively slim picking but extremely pricey. Their retail prices are messed up; I paid $17 for sandals! Just be aware. Its pretty cheap, so what do you expect?
The water park is located within Cal Expo and is great way to take a break from the heat during the State Fair. The park is open throughout the summer on the weekends and generally every day in July. Also you can use the park admission to get entrance into the State Fair. Getting a season pass is worth it just to have unlimited access to the fair. Some other things to note, parking is expensive and is even pricer during the fair (15 dollars at the time of this review). They do not allow food or drink into the park unless its a sealed water bottle. You can bring a reusable water bottle but it must be empty. Overall, I recommend getting the season pass and using it to go to the water park and the fair.EDIT August 2018: We were at a party this past weekend and the host ordered three pizzas. One of the pizzas had a dead fly on it that baked into the cheese. Raging Waters partially refunded their order, but I believe that Raging Waters should have gone much farther to rectify this. It brings to question the cleanliness of their food facilities and I dont think I would ever order food from this place again. I dropped my review to two stars due to this. While the water facilities are still good, its hard to ignore something like this. This is compounded by the fact that they do not allow outside food.
It was fun, but a bit on the expensive side :(
Im enjoying to much
The layout of the park is interesting and tots are free. Parking is $10 and lockers are $15. The park is far from the lot, nearly 1/4 of a mile and the parking pass doesnt work for the state fair.
Its close to my home. Season passes are well priced. It has water and a nice crew. And it shuts up the kids and the old people.
Cool place on a hot day. One of the slides wasnt open, and the ones that were had long waiting time. Idk what it is, but management of the tube slides is super inefficient. It takes FOREVER to get on the slides. Snacks and drinks are crazy expensive. Kids have fun tho and thats what matters. Its not bad.
Good choice in water slides very subtle during the weekdays. Tons of room and dont have to wait long.
I took my granddaughter she loved it. Food was very expensive .but at that time of day there were not alot of people so it was very nice the lazy river was my favorite we went down the slides I felt like a kid again I will bring her back lots of food choices, a store and a bar we met some nice people there
Nothing has really changed in over 20 years. Maybe added a ride or two. As a child, the water park seemed so HUGE and With so many different rides. The longest waterslides at the.park wobble and shake as the riders go
Great place to bring kids of all ages. Plenty of slides and water areas. Loungers available if you get thete early enough.
The theme park is quite small and they charge $20 on top of the regular admission fee for an innertube if you dont want to wait in a ridiculously long line for the free ones. They dont have many of the iconic rides that Raging Waters is typically known for such as the Bermuda Triangle, Black Hole, and Water Rafters. When you arrive, be sure to have cash with you for the parking fee.
This place is fun but you have to deal with crazy lines even on slow days. I love/dread coming here but the kids love it and the season pass through Costco makes it worth it.
I love raging waters so much just the water was a little dirty and the lazy river is cold but other than that I love raging waters I went with my family and I had a great experience. We ate the food (Delicious) We went swimming (Of course)and after that we got our stuff out of the lockers ( Yes hey do have lockers and you put your own code in it). I had a very good day!!
Kids had a blast we got season passes for just under $34. Kids and husband stayed in the lazy river most of the time. Make sure if you want chairs to sit and relax in get there as soon as they open, otherwise all the chairs are taken and you will have to lay some towels out on the grass. Food is expensive of course so eat before you come or pack an ice chest and go out to the car for a break, you can get a stamp for reentry.
For the price, you can’t complain much. Such a treat to have so close. If you don’t clam up around crowds, you’ll have a blast. My kids and I don’t really do much where you have to stand in line - were happy with the lazy river and wave pond.
ALWAYS fun! However, the one attraction my disabled family member was able to go on (the lazy river) was shut down permanently a few hours into the day because the water got cloudy from peoples sunscreen. I realize this is a safety issue for small children, but it was still disappointing that he had to roast in the sun all afternoon. There HAS to be some way to prevent and/or fix that problem. The young lady who was the lifeguard for the river was INCREDIBLY kind and apologetic. I wish I had gotten her name... she tried to brainstorm possible solutions with me to try to help cool off my family member.
Very dirty. Not maintained. Leaves floating with you in the pool. Looking lines. Just not clean at all. I thought I was going to sun splash and bought tickets here buy mistake. Food very pricy. Long long long wait. Food not good at all. Disgusting chili.
My daughter and Niece had one of the best times of there life go check them out great place for the kids ️️️️️
The park was nice, kids had fun. Snack bar ran out of essentials like ketchup and pepsi. I tried to book a bday package over a month ago and finally got a call back the day before our desired date. Taylor (the only person to call me back) is an asset to Raging waters. I wouldnt book anything here again. Save your$ and just buy a day pass.
Terrible organization, long waits, artificially, and its not because of safety. Sometimes they wait over 10 minutes between riders. And the pool is empty. Bad, will never go again. San Jose is way better organized.
Great place for kids of all ages. Gets crowded by 1, but definitely recommend a summer season pass to get max use of this place.
It hasnt changed in years. If it wants to stay up with its competition sun splash, better get some new more thrilling slides.
Most have a VIP cabana to really enjoy this place! Its good fun for the whole family but theres not a lot of free seating so I highly recommend getting a cabana. You also get VIP tubes and can cut the line in some rides that require you to wait for a tube. Must do for summer family fun!
It really spread out alot of fun. Make sure to bring water socks. The ground gets hot.
Awesome place! Even better with state fair next door.
Waste of money. Poorly managed and maintained. Most 5 star reviews are fakes - just search the phrase My family of 5 in the reviews section and youll see three identical reviews, each giving this hole 5 stars.
So fun! Even for those who dont like water slides.
First let me say I dont visit a lot of water parks... So my review is not in comparison to some other experience I had. We came for my daughters birthday. My family of 5 had lots of fun. The lazy river was lazy, the slides were sliding and the wave pool waved. Would definitely come again.
A few rides and had to pay for a tube or wait to get one, which is a long line. Just to ride one of the best rides.
Not worth the money at all. The Carls jr ran out of ice and the people tried to fill my cup up half way. The wave pool hardly makes waves, and is as warm as a hot tub.
Super disappointed. Was lied to about the parking pass that I spent 50 dollars on I asked if we could use during the fair and was told you sure can, you can not and they raised parking to 15 dollars durning the fair. Then when I asked about it I was called stupid for think that I could. We now have season passes and I am not sure I want to go back to the park again. The staff I have interacted with were rude. I called to have a manager address this issue and still have not herd back. Not good Customer service at all.
Season tickets are reasonable, but with tube rentals are $10 each and are pretty much necessary to have any fun but get stolen if you turn your back on them, parking is $15, locker rental $30, food was very expensive and had to wait forever in line, not a lot of options, didnt taste good either. Staff was very nice but spread very thin so slides took forever to get down. The kids didnt have very much fun either, overall it was a joyless experience. Never will I return to this dilapidated water park. I will drive to Roseville or even the bay area if I have to, doesnt deserve the one star.
A great time with the kids.Pros: pricing, groupon, fast food ex carls jr inside.Cons: lounge chairs are most broken.
Good place to have fun but could be bigger for the price you pay. Also the restrooms need more attention!
It is a good place to take the family when its hot. When we went to the gate, the guy at the gate said we needed to get our parking pass updated. No problem, so we thought. We checked in, I asked if mine was the premium pass(it has lots of perks)the lady said yes. So we went to the food court to use the discount, it wasnt put into the account.(Good thing I had the copies of the tickets on my phone, or I wouldnt have had the discount). So I had to stand in line again, to put the premium pass on the account and the lady at the customer service window didnt believe me till I showed her the same copy on my phone. The lady looked up who did the tickets, pull out a form filled it out and set it off to the side. She took care of the problem. It shouldnt take 30 mins to fix something that should have been done right the first time.
My kids love raging waters !!! this is the third year buying season pass and its worth it my kids and i always have a great experience!!!
We enjoy going here, however wish that they stayed open longer
Dont even bother going. If you have any sort of disability, even if your just going to watch your kids. Dude employees. The leads do an amazing job at helping the employees need more training, also they close alot of the big water attractions due to foggy water which is so understandable but its because they do not have a limit on the people they allow in. Also no rules are respected my daughter is two and in the kiddie area there are big kids pushing and being mean to the little ones. My daughter fell and hit her head and a lifeguard didnt even help. On way out the gates were locked I couldnt even get out. Im in a wheel chair and had to wait 15 min for some one to unlock gates. What if thete was an emergency. This place is going to hear from my lawyer. Not ADA compliance at all nor safe for children
Great place to enjoy the waterpark experience, I loved it and so did my kid.
My family and I went to this waterpark, yesterday. I was very disappointed. We drove over an hour to get to the park only to find out we could not purchase a single day admission, unless we did it online and we would still have to pay for entrance into the state fair. We live out of state and have no need for a season pass. We had already paid for parking, so we went ahead and purchased the passes. When we got into the park, I went to change clothes in the restroom. Only two of the toilets were working and they were filthy! I tried to get over this and enjoy the park anyway. Yet, I went twice to purchase an Italian ice and both times the teenager working was busy on his phone. Lastly, my husband ordered food and it took 15 minutes for him to get his food and 25 for my cousin who ordered before him. Teenagers were working who had no experience, which would be fine if they would have had someone to direct them properly. I feel the park could have been really enjoyable, if it wasnt for the poor management.
The waterpark was good not great because+ the place looks nice and has great food- not enough water slides and the wave pool is very Weak
First let me say I dont visit a lot of water parks... So my review is not in comparison to some other experience I had. We came for my daughters birthday. My family of 5 had lots of fun. The lazy river was lazy, the slides were sliding and the wave pool waved. Would definitely come again.
It was a very fun place to go to the wife for a day out.
Had a good time, minus the slides that were out of order.
Fun place to be if you like having fun. Many different water experiences to explore. I wish the wave pool was better though.
We had a great time! Weve never been to this water park before. There were a few negatives about our experience. People were trying to take the inner tubes we paid money for. At one point some did take one we left at our chairs. Its just annoying. The other issue was I ordered a pulled pork sandwich for $10.50. It was basically a bread sandwich because there was very little meat and pretty much no BBQ sauce. I wont be ordering that next time. Those negative things didnt deter us from fun. We will be back for sure.
So much fun! I love the wave pool!
