Love this store. Good location on the Main Street downtown Sacramento. Very well organized and clean. Great energy and beautiful products. Love the stones the statues so much to see. The people that work there are very helpful and also they have info sheets printed for the items you buy which is great if you collect stones. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable I like that.

Its 5 stars mainly for the variety of things that could be found at Zanzibar Trading Company. I am not going to bother to describe everything they have - would take me ages, but I uploaded 19 pictures here, so that can help. As for prices - not sure... I am not really into all that, so its hard for me to judge. Go see for yourself :)

I was walking by when I saw the collection of minerals/crystals in the window so I decided to go home and bring back some of my own un-identified collection. I couldnt have come at a worse time than when most people were finishing the marathon so the street out front was PACKED, making the store rather busy. Nonetheless, the kind gentleman took the time out to help me name my mystery crystals. They have an incredible selection, varying in price and size of art. Overall fantastic store and employees were beyond helpful

I went in to buy a Tibetan singing bowl - I knew very little about them except they emitted a beautiful sound and I wanted to know how to produce that sound - The gentleman I dealt with was not only informative but patient with my virgin status regarding the singing bowls . He explained the proper way to hold them - the grip and direction of the tapping stick - even going so far as to go to his back stock to bring me different sizes of bowls to see which one I was most comfortable with - I can’t say enough good things about this business! I plan to be a regular customer ️️

This place is interesting. They have some odd stuff, but there is also a worker who walks around in your face and starts rattling off facts about all of the stuff you are looking at without your asking. So you cant really focus on what you are seeing. Its a bit abrasive and disorienting.There is also a $10 card minimum here, which I found out because I found this cute ring, but it was $7 not $10.Go in if you want to look at some interesting, odd stuff and have a barrage of light smell and sound on your senses.The other thing is that the decor is really cluttered. Its done in an artful manner, but the interior is very small, so everything is a bit cramped, but purposefully so.

Great shop. Owners personally source their merchandise. Was looking for black tourmaline and he had just the right size. Carry hypoallergenic, Japenese incense ( who knew) and sent me on my way with my purchases housed in a biodegradable bag made from potatoes. A really fun shop and the owner is filled with interesting information.

I had an amazing experience here. 3 gentlemen were working and werent overbearing but available to help if I needed. I was able to purchase some gorgeous ornaments from Michocan, Mexico (mother-in-laws hometown), honey calcite, red quartz and green apatite. All untreated. We will be back to definitely purchase future home decor and gifts.I see a lot of mentions about the pricing. Yes, some things you can buy similar or great knock offs on amazon, Ebay, hell even etsy. But the stand alone quality of this shop is the owner prides himself on ETHICAL, FAIR TRADE sourcing. Even majority of his crystal collection are raw/untreated. And those that have undergone color treatment are CLEARLY marked. I cant tell you how many times friends have brought back gifts from Mexico just to discover they were made in India. Id rather support a small, local business who in turn supports fair trade and ethical sourcing from artisans around the world.

Neat store. Came in looking for a specific item and they had it. On the pricey side though, but its a specialty store so you get what you pay for. Good service. Almost overly helpful. Not too many people in the store when I went in. The gentleman that said he was the owner wanted to give too much information on the item I was looking for and way too much info on items I wasnt. All in all good store with a funky atmosphere. If your looking for a neat gift or a specific item this is a great place to look.

I used to love this place but then I heard one of the clerks trying to sell a woman a $25 soy candle by telling her that other candles with different ingredients cause autism and cancer. I will never go back now that I know they use anti-science, fear mongering tactics to peddle their wares.

The Owner is more knowledgeable about all his products than any owner that I have ever met at anywhere I have ever been.

Staff is very knowledgeable about the power of the stones. They are eager to share the sourcing backround of any of their items. Scot (the owner) has a great respect for the artisans of the boutiques offerings. I know I can always trust the quality and fair pricing here.
